George and Linda have been collecting and involved in their passion of old Americana for 54 years. When you first walk into their store you will be greeted by enthusiasm and a down home friendliness. The place often smells of a potpourri, which somehow makes the old brick building feel warm and classy. The store is only open for 3 or 4 days a week, as the Owners are doing the business for their passion it seems. I have been in several times and bought some very collectible items for birthdays, my Anniversary and just for Me, ha. I have learned some things from them regarding Bauer ware ( very colorful cool plates from old Los Angeles) to fun and very collectible cookie jars etc., The place is festooned for every holiday, so it's constantly changing and a nice surprise. The Tin Turtle is in the original Shuman Price Mercantile building on Main Street. The building was originally a wood structure and then was rebuilt in brick in 1898. It's a beautiful old Western building with great Cottonwood history. It's been occupied by all kinds of businesses, however George and Linda have really brought some real downhome class and charm to this original old place. I have lost a friend and have family members still reeling from the virus; I have a condition that requires I be careful. Therefore, from plain old ethical 'business practices' when I expressed concern a second time on the phone discussing my purchase receipt, the salesperson slammed me with her response. It was insulting. She let me know that my concern was insignificant because "there's all sorts of information out there." I bought a floor piece that day for a great price. I was going to order much more furniture and lots and lots of window coverings! What happened to good old fashioned service to the customer? I guess this EA doesn't need business.
