Really beautiful nursery with a fantastic selection of plants and gifts but WAY too expensive. I guess those that have $$$ can shop there.

Jackpot at Wyntour Gardens. We needed really large outdoor ceramic pots to go at the base of trellises and to add character to our yard. The selection was really limited (and ordinary) at big box stores and other nurseries we visited. At Wyntour we found the sizes, quality and character pieces we wanted. Additionally, they have a huge selection of plants, trees, statuaries, wind chimes, seeds and gardening tools. Look forward to coming back in the spring. Oh, and the cat's name is Tuxedo. If you're looking for a good selection of pottery and fountains... Wyntour Gardens is the place! They have a wonderful selection, most of which is on the left wing of the property but they have water features spread throughout the gardens and overage on the right side of the building. This beautiful nursery was set up nicely both inside and out with beautiful healthy looking outdoor plants, indoor plants, and trees. Perfect place to go shopping for Mother's Day, which explains why they were so busy on a Friday morning! The lack of a star is because it was difficult to get employee assistance. The few employees on site were either knee deep in moving tree's or busy helping other people. We came here looking for a bird bath (without a pump) and were unable to find what we were searching for. The crew are pretty helpful and somewhat knowledgable, depending on who you ask. The selection is great, especially for the size of the store and the price of their products is very reasonable too. Often when you go to a local business you have to pay a little more than you would at a department store or big businesses. But I was surprised to see that the prices here weren't that much higher than anywhere else I have been. If you are a gardener or enthusiast, I am positive that you will find everything you need at a price you can afford right here in your local nursery. This plant store is the best. The employees helped me find what I needed for an area in my side yard. I'm glad they asked if I needed help because I almost bought the wrong plant. The new plant was a better price anyway. The one I picked up would've died in the sun. Purchased $60.00 worth of Cana bulbs, and only half of the bulbs were viable. brought unopened packages back to the store only looking for an exchange or credit back and received the most disgraceful, and disrespectful attitude from the store manager. She actually scolded me for not keeping a receipt, and not understanding how to grow the product! I owned a nursery for 20 years. Education on customer service folks: your customer does not patronize your facility to be scolded or spoken to unprofessionally. I have patronized your facility for over 30 years when George was the original owner. Since your take over Giles family, the customer service you provide is almost non existent. Your front register girls spend more time on their phones than greeting the customer! Their knowledge of your products is also lacking. Word of mouth is the most powerful advertising tool there is! I will never patronize your store again, and will let all of my nursery contacts know of this dreadful experience! Lastly, you are over priced. Shop at Costco or Walmart folks! read more

Since they have changed ownership prices have gone way up and I have had plants /trees die repeatedly and I'm tired of it. A few staff members are rude and act like their to busy to help you. Wanted some advice on a plant, a old lady that works there by the name Ellen acted like she couldn't be bothered . The place use to be a beautiful sanctuary with plants and trees and very helpful friendly staff now it's scattered and disarray with a few rude employees. Like in some of the reviews I'd rather go to other local nursery's in town and be treated better and get quality priced healthier plants and trees. 1 star rating only because I had no choice. read more

Plant selection is average and the prices are on the higher end. I've had good experiences with some of the outside staff, they seem very knowledgeable and experienced. This place is AMAZING. If you're even kind of a plant person, this is Plant Heaven. We moved to Redding two years ago, but are moving back to Sonoma County today and it will be one of the top places that I will miss terribly. I will absolutely be here EVERY time I visit- probable 3-4 times a year. Cute decor, unique plants... and they are in SUCH great shape. One time, they had a Mini Monstera that they had for so long it grew to three times the size. I thought..'SCORE' and she apologized that it had sit for so long and gave me 30% off. They're just wonderful, knowledge, and have literally everything you will ever need or want. If they don't have it, they'll order it for you. read more

I was shopping with my husband and our dog (on a leash). At the checkout stand, I was standing back so my husband to pay. While waiting, my dog pulled me with the leash because of another dog which I never saw. I landed loudly on both knees and right hand. I would like to report the staff was very attentive to me and my wounds, getting me a chair and looking for a first aid kit. I was not going to write a review rather a "thank you" note to the manager, but I saw the negative yelp review and am writing this review to support our local store and how well their staff responded to my fall. It was by no means their responsibility and I went down screaming but thankfully I only have scrapped knees, a painful rib and right hand. Use to love shopping at Wyntour gardens until it recently changed ownership. The prices have went up considerably which is okay but what is not okay is closing their restroom to their customers. When I asked to use it which I have for many years, I was told no , it's no longer for the customers and to go to Kent's market and use theirs. They even remove all the restroom signs. This is their choice to close the restrooms to their customers and it helped myself to discover gold leaf nursery just a little ways up the road who have wonderfu restrooms and good prices with a large selection of plants, now my go to nursery. read more

Just called Wyntour Gardens on the phone to ask a question. Maybe she was busy with customers, but right after she answered the phone, there was another ring, almost as if I had been transferred. I said, "hello?" again, and she let out a big long impatient sigh, and said, "yes, I'm here." I apologized and said I had heard a ring, and she sighed again and asked what my question was. She was very rude and impatient, even when answering the question - almost patronizing. She should try and remember that customer service is both in person and on the phone, and first impressions are important. There was no reason for that reaction or her rude tone. I'm not sure it will be worth making the drive down to Wyntour with that type of attitude if I have to deal with that. I'll just to to Home Depot for my plants. read more

We live down the road from this nursery so when we needed soil for our summer gardening projects it made sense to give the neighborhood business our money. We ended up buying 8 bags of the Bumper Crop soil builder on 2 separate trips and the summer special was 14.99 per 2 cu. ft. Bag and if you buy 3 the 4th bag is free. Well after looking at the soil it didn't seem like premium soil I've bought before rather it looked like bargain potting soil mix. This is advertised as natural and organic compost soil builder but in my experience it wasnt very good quality. It actually looked like ground up Bark and there were in fact a lot of large chunks of bark in there that didn't get ground up much. Anyway I decided that we had too much so I thought I'd return 2 of the unused bags. Part of the reason for the return was the quality of the soil was lacking, and the customer service on both trips wasn't great. Well when I loaded up the extra bags and drove down to Wyntour Gardens, the girl was confused on how to return the soil. There was a lengthy phone call with her manager and I stood there waiting patiently for over 10 minutes. The problem was that on sale with the free 4th bag, all the bags came out to about 11.25 each instead of 14.99. My receipt clearly said this 11.25 per bag but the register only wanted to refund 7.50 for each bag. I knew this was a mistake or a glitch with the register so I refused the 7.50 per bag because I knew it wasn't right. After the girl talked to the manager she came back and told me the manager will be back tomorrow and she can fix it then. Today I called and asked if the manager was in, I believe her name was Carla, and I talked to her before going and she pretty much told me that I can have the 7.50 per bag and take it or leave it. I tried to tell her that it didn't make sense and she continued to talk over me so there could be no reasonable discussion. I told her that I was not happy with the customer service and she then tells me "it's simple math" which was very condescending. So this pretty much let me know that I wasn't going to be doing business here ever again, and I was definitely leaving a Yelp review of this terrible experience. read more

I have never had a problem with Wyntour and their plants are hardy and well-cared-for, unlike so many chain stores' that buy fast-grown plants right out of a greenhouse, then basically ignore them except to whisk a bit of water over them. I just planted a whole flat of pansies from Wyntour and not one died...they are all healthy and blooming like crazy. I notice that ALL retail businesses seem short-staffed these days which makes sense. Considering all the patrons who show up without masks, it must be hard to keep a full staff, so try to be understanding. read more

so we bought a glass turtle about 2 weeks ago. The day we bought it the foot came off. It happened on the way home from there. I looked at it and it had quite a bit of hair line cracks on the turtle. We went back today to buy some stuff and tried to take it back and of course they wouldn't. The girl with long blobd hair was pretty rude( think she needs to take a communication course). She kept on saying when we bought it, it left here fine. So in other words does every plant that leaves there is fine. I think not, several people return plants or flowers. So in other words, they return plants, flowers but, not any glass were or material items. Just a heads up people. Carefully what you buy ftom there and don't deal with the blond chick. She was very knowledgeable and professional. I have bought flowers three times this year and two times last year and the 80 percent of the plants don't make it and are dead within the first week. I have a beautiful established yard, which I take complete care of. They do not stand behind their plants. After shopping there for over 40 years I'm done. I won't be back. read more
