We just stopped in to get some small things to have around during our stay like bananas, eggs, juice, some snacks etc. The price wasn't *TOO* outrageous in the end, but if I were planning to go full on grocery shopping, I'd too probably drive somewhere else that might have better deals. It's clean and well organized though, and we were able to find everything we intended to buy and more. I didn't find anything wrong with the service or cashiers either, they seemed friendly to me for the most part!

Not a great variety and not anything I could do without EXCEPT the lady selling stuff that keeps mirrors, windshields, eye/sunglasses, and other things glass from fogging up. The sign said 1 for $7 and 4 for $20, but she offered me 1 for $5 and 3 for $10, so I got 3. An eclectic selection of produce and goods. Pretty small market, maybe 30 vendors. One vendor that was a standout was the bakery. By the time we got there around 11 they were mostly sold out - good for them. This is clearly a go-to vendor for the market and the locals know about it. A couple of great produce vendors, we bought some wonderful tomatoes and blackberries from one of the vendors and were very happy with them. There a couple of food carts, mexican and a breakfast place, both looked pretty promising. Jewelry, woven baskets, re-purposed clothing, all worth a look. A couple of weird booths, one with non-authentic indian artifacts and a place selling some special glass cleaning product ala "as-seen on TV" type of product. If you are passing through, get there early to try the baked goods and score some produce for your road trip.

I prefer to purchase and keep books so I'm not checking out at…read morelibraries too often anymore, but I also appreciate a good DEAL and not having to pay so much for brand new books. Well-Read books is not a huge bookstore, but still has a nice selection for the space, and everything is really well organized by genre. There's more to look at than you'd think when first entering the store and I always end up taking more time here than I expect. A lot of books are obviously worn, but still readable (I've never seen them selling anything that was too torn up to read), while some appear to be just like new. Because of this, the price does range, but overall it's still going to be cheaper here than somewhere like a Barnes & Noble. On my most recent visit I bought a Nancy Drew book for $5 (I've been wanting to pick one up again to re-read as an adult since I loved the series as a kid, just for some light, nostalgic reading) which I don't consider to be an amazing deal, as I can get them for that price and less from places like Ebay, but I was still really happy to see so many Nancy Drew books there I decided to go for it anyway, and they have so many other interesting books for much less too. If you are a reader, I absolutely recommend this place. Whether you are a local or just passing through, it's worth the stop!

Chuck's Waldport Video has outlasted Blockbuster Video. This guy (and store) is a legend. The store…read morehas an extensive library of titles for rent and was an important part of my childhood, allowing me to bypass film school. Chuck has given a lot to the community over the years. Films and paintings and impromptu video store therapy sessions for the town's people. He's listened and laughed. And done things his own way.

It was interesting walking through, but we didn't get much conversation out of Chuck (or whoever happened to be working there I guess). Maybe he could sense we were there just to browse and not rent anything, which is totally fair on his part. I liked looking at all the old, faded posters and searching through some of the VHS tapes was a blast from the past. It was fun, and I'm happy I got to check it out, but more than likely a one time visit for me. I would probably make a habit of using this shop if I spent more time in the area though :)

They take care of everybody on the Oregon coast and they are wonderful people. The owner is a dream. She's so kind and understanding and takes care of everything when anything goes slightly off. Parker in the office is awesome and Josh who now works at the other location is wonderful. Only good things to say about everybody there. Deuce came out this last week and put up the skylight blind, which I was so grateful to have because I have been unable to sleep for so long with all that light pouring into my bedroom. The other beautiful blinds you see in the photos are my living room and dining room, which were mid-century. I was holding onto them since the 70s when they came with the house and I was so worried I would not find anything the same or comparable. I was able to match them almost 100% at Budget Blinds. Prices are decent and reasonable with today's inflation and you cannot ask for more. If you don't go here, you are losing out. I will continue to shop here the duration of my time on the coast if I ever need anything else.

While I am still pretty clueless about most of the items they sell, I have continue to learn a lot by going in and asking about any/every interesting thing I see. It's incredibly fascinating and I learn something new every time. Their friendliness and willingness to talk/teach while not being judgemental or condescending is so very appreciated. They seem to genuinely enjoy what they do and talking with visitors. I have finally bought some things too, instead of just going in and aimlessly looking around and asking silly questions. I have picked up two dream books and have my eye on a couple of others that I would love to purchase if they are still available when I come back. I've also grabbed a couple of the smaller (and less expensive) geodes that I just thought were beautiful, and probably some other small pieces that I can't remember at the moment. This last time I went in, I finally asked about this red Lucky Cat bank I have been eyeing for months (a year??) now. I went in with my boyfriend and he bought it for me. I know it's silly but I spent a lot of time thinking about that Lucky Cat and I am so happy nobody else bought it before us because it makes me really happy to have it now. Sometimes it's just the little things :) And with their range of items, something is bound to stand out to you like that too. I have absolutely no complaints and wouldn't change a single thing about this shop, but I know that some people might have a problem with the "mess". I don't know if I even feel comfortable calling it a "mess", I think they just have a lot going on, and they've mentioned that they are always working on reorganizing and going through new things. I personally think it adds to the appeal though a little bit. Another reviewer says it's like a treasure hunt, and I absolutely agree! If you've made it this far in my review, it probably already goes without saying that this is one of my favorite little shops in Waldport, I'm so grateful it's here, and I am always looking forward to my next visit!
