I usually stop in at least a couple times while visiting to pick up smokes, hard cider, snacks, etc. Never had a problem here and recently learned they *do* have a restroom, it's just located outside and you need a key. It's tiny and not the best looking bathroom, but a bathroom nonetheless.

Prior and current management have been ripping off locals and tourists for some time. I should've asked my neighbors or looked at the community page on Facebook before what happened to me did yesterday. The following is what I posted on the waldport community page sadly, so many other people had the same or even worse experiences: So to save $.20 a gallon today I decided to get $10 in gas at the town pumps and then get up to Newport where prices are more reasonable. I clearly requested $10 on my credit card. Handed the attendant my key and my card, rearranged some things in the back of my pick up, asked for my receipt and he told me there wasn't one. I pointed to the pump and said yeah it's right there - I'd like that please. I put it in my wallet, pulled out got, around the block & noticed I had a full tank of gas.... Circled back said - I told you I only wanted $10. He said that he didn't remember me - I must've said fill. Conversation ensued. So I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I've been hearing around town that the new group that came in has been ripping people off. I know I should've gone to Chevron, but I was trying to save some money and ended up spending more. And now I've had to contact my credit card company as well. So if you're local the Lincoln county heads up. Win some lose some but I certainly wasn't trying to spend $50 there. That said, they also filled a diesel with regular gas that had to have the engine dropped in the parking lot. It's really a shame. This is a small community that takes a lot of pride in itself and the folks running that show I have no backbone.

This is not Michelin dining, nor is it fast food that you can get anywhere in the US on a road…read moretrip. We had been to the Oregon Aquarium and did not feel like cooking so we looked up carry out options & we were close to this place. It looks perfect from outside: the place is old, the signs are hand painted, there is a lot of color, there are a bunch of picnic tables, and the parking lot is gravel. It was getting crowded. We needed food for four and we got jumbo prawns and chips, halibut and chips, clam chowder, some kind of roll that was shrimp & cheese, and some cooked Dungeness crab with cocktail sauce. We had about a 15 minute drive to the house & we called ahead to get the oven turned on so we could reheat the chips and water boiling. Otherwise, we got all the main dishes out and went to work on the deck. This is well prepared good food that is best eaten outside on big table covered with newspaper. Added cold beer, corn on the cob, lots of hot sauce, ketchup for the chips, and some cheese cake from a farmers market for desert. It was a perfect summer meal on a perfect summer day with the sound of waves breaking on the beach about 300 feet away. If you go to this part of the Oregon coast you should try South Beach Grocery. The young woman at the counter was patient with our questions and the folks at the cooking stations were fast and capable with seafood that is not easy to cook but easy to mess up. There was no messing up at this roadhouse. They know what they are doing. Go here, eat here, and then go back and eat some more the next day. We did but two days later.

When you're way out in the middle of nowhere, Oregon (or possibly heading out to Fern Ridge for…read moresome camping or day-use fun), you may just find yourself in need of beer, ice, snacks, or various sundries. If so, Hilltop Market could have the answer to your burning desires. This little independent market, hidden behind a thick patina of beer banners and neon signs, offers up a surprisingly robust beer and beverage selection. With a ton of great local 22oz bombers, high-end cans including 21st Amendment and Caldera, and the usual macro light beers (giant Coronas, anyone?), there's something for every hops-consuming palate. Hilltop also rolls out a deep collection of N/A bevs from Vitamin Water to Mexican Coke and all sorts of interesting energy drinks too. Frankly, I was surprised to find such an insane beer collection so deep in BFE. Chips? Fuggedaboudit. These guys stock every flavor of Pringles (or at least 4 or 5 flavors) as well as a bunch o' random munchies. Everything you'll need to keep you snackified on a hot day down at Richardson or out on your Yacht in Fern Ridge. As for the rest of it, the selection is well above your average Dari Mart or Plaid Pantry but not a full grocery. It's still a convenience store that's simply well stocked. And local. And legit.
