With that said, trying to schedule A Covid test is like trying to get a last minute hair appointment on New Years Eve- it ain't happening! I finally found a few appointments available at this location, so I booked on line. The process was great- they send you an email with the confirmation and instructions. When you drive into the parking lot, the instructions state to follow the signs and not to enter the store (makes sense!); there was visible signage that directed you to the drive up window. When it is your turn, you show your id and confirmation email, they check their records and confirm your identity. They tell you how to self administer the nasal swab and pass the test kit to you in a container they place in the telescoping window- all the while they clean and disinfect the window, the box and the entire area in you view. After swabbing your nose according to the instructions provided, you place the applicator inside a vial with liquid and screw the cap on, place it in the ziplock baggie and back into the tray and the the window. You get your test results via email anywhere within three days; this was not the rapid test but they so administer both here. I was impressed that with everything they have to do for these tests, my schedules apply was only late by five minutes or so- this is pretty good!

This has happened with multiple family members multiple times. Once with an infection that required antibiotics and another that was antivirals. These are medications you should not be waiting days for. These need to be started immediately! When it's finally available it takes forever to pick up because the lines outside and inside are terribly long. Usually only 1 person at the checkout handling a long line of people. CVS in El Paso is much better and faster always.

Guerrero through Guadalupe through Cazeta to Reforma (overnight camp) through San Agustin (Museo de Valle de Juarez) through Juarez to Casa de Adobe/Parque Madero/Boundary Merarker One (overnight camp) through San Jeronimo/Santa Teresa through airport (Penny's thDiner) to Canutillo (overnight camp, Westside Welding sidewalk) then home. On New Year's Eve, I pedaled through downtown El Paso and cycling North from Paisano/US85/Racetrack on a single fine road of multiple names: Doniphan Drive, Texas 20, New Mexico 478, Main Street. On both biketours, when in Canutillo, I always stopped at this fine store to resupply my emergency foods. It is absolutely critical for anyone cycling to keep their strength up, and this means quick energy, as well as more substantial eats for the long term. It's just not visible right away when you come into the station and pull in for gas. There's limited parking in the front, and the parking on the left is strictly for McDonald's. After driving a circle around the lot, I found the back parking, which is a lot of effort when you're trying to find a spot just so you can pee, get some food and get back on the road. I did find a gas pump though, and I was grateful not to find any that were out of service. There's nothing very special about this place except that there's a chicken place next to the McDonald's. It's reasonably clean. It's literally right across from the New Mexico border, across the freeway from the Wet n Wild. It's located in a spot where if you've driving endlessly through Texas, it's a huge relief to realize the awful drive is eventually going to end. Would recommend this place just for the sake of a quick sanity check before driving again.

We gathered the crew and headed out to find this place. I had called earlier to confirm we could just show up without a reservation, they said yes but it was going to be busy. So we got there and did not realize that we need permission slips for the kids but it could all be done on line. I paid $25 a person for a gin, 200 rounds and a mask. They take the time to show you how to use and to make sure you follow the rules. Even my 7 year old son was allowed to play. We spent almost 4 hours running, hiding and shooting. Great time, nice people and a hell of a work out. Will definitely come back out again.
