The uptick in Covid cases has put a huge strain on all facets of medical care. The priority with…read morethis virus is to get tested so that you avoid passing it on, unwittingly and unknowingly. With that said, trying to schedule A Covid test is like trying to get a last minute hair appointment on New Years Eve- it ain't happening! I finally found a few appointments available at this location, so I booked on line. The process was great- they send you an email with the confirmation and instructions. When you drive into the parking lot, the instructions state to follow the signs and not to enter the store (makes sense!); there was visible signage that directed you to the drive up window. When it is your turn, you show your id and confirmation email, they check their records and confirm your identity. They tell you how to self administer the nasal swab and pass the test kit to you in a container they place in the telescoping window- all the while they clean and disinfect the window, the box and the entire area in you view. After swabbing your nose according to the instructions provided, you place the applicator inside a vial with liquid and screw the cap on, place it in the ziplock baggie and back into the tray and the the window. You get your test results via email anywhere within three days; this was not the rapid test but they so administer both here. I was impressed that with everything they have to do for these tests, my schedules apply was only late by five minutes or so- this is pretty good!

This Walgreens for prescriptions is horrible!!! Repeatedly…read moreour Dr calls in Rx and it literally takes days 2-3 days to get the prescription. This has happened with multiple family members multiple times. Once with an infection that required antibiotics and another that was antivirals. These are medications you should not be waiting days for. These need to be started immediately! When it's finally available it takes forever to pick up because the lines outside and inside are terribly long. Usually only 1 person at the checkout handling a long line of people. CVS in El Paso is much better and faster always.

This is usually our go-to pharmacy in Juarez. There's been a couple of others I've gone to but this…read moreone stands out for me. The customer service here is always great. We usually deal with the same pharmacist, an older male. I wish I knew his name but I don't. He's usually the only one who's there. He's very helpful on which products I should buy. He knows and understands some English. We speak to him in Spanish since it's easier to communicate with him. I came here with my mom a few weeks ago to get antibiotics for a toothache. The meds are always cheaper here than in El Paso. I also had to get some pain/fever reducer and another medicine my dentist prescribed. It was $36 and change for 3 or 4 different prescriptions. My mom also got some wrinkle reducer elixir of some kind for $15. That's a steal for this kind of product. The best part about this pharmacy is...they give you a few mini empanadas every time you buy something! They're always delicious and taste fresh. The empanadas are usually pineapple. Honestly, this is one of the main reasons why we come here. They're a little treat to snack on as you wait on the bridge to cross back over to El Paso. Oh and another good thing is...they take American money and even have change for it. That's pretty rare in Juarez. Usually when you pay with American dollars, they'll give you your change in pesos. Most places won't take a U.S. credit or debit card. If they do, they'll charge you a huge fee to use it. It's best to have U.S. dollars or go to an exchange place. The exchange places are all over the place! We'll be back to this pharmacy for sure!

I have always found Walgreens to be an excellent source of much needed currency wherever and whenever traveling(especially whilst biketouring) throughout the USA. Fond of true dark chocolate, I'll often buy a few bars of it with my VISA debit card, and increase the amount to what I forecast my immediate future expenses. I didn't go far before finding Starbucks Black Unsweetened Coffee, something I'd been thirsting for several months now. Even better, it was a 'two-fer' on sale. Of course, I bought the pair, but was hesitant to buy more because they'd have to be packed aboard my Doublevision and any liquid spillage, well, at least it wouldn't be a sugary spill! Anyway, cashier Briana expertly checked me through, plus the extra cash that would prove essential once I had entered Mexico at the Ysleta-Zaragoza POE. At the El Poste Centrro Cambiario, Avenida Waterfill, the exchange rate of 18.45 pesos to 1.00 usd meant I'd easily be able to buy another excellent meal at Pollo Feliz! Thank you, Briana & Walgreens, you get both 5-stars and my "Wheel of Approval!"
