In my middle school days I frequented a Family Dollar and a privately owned dollar store, always leaving satisfied with useless junk. Junk, that would one day would be discarded without a second thought like a pillow radio and a geometric Rubik's Cube (that I was only able to solve once in the span of six years). But Dollar General...ohhohhoh! They actually have stuff I need. I can't tell you how many times this Dollar General has came through for me. Notecards, dry erase boards, butter, cheese, milk, socks, slippers, iPhone cases, trash bags, aluminum foil, and dog toys. All things that have been found at this Dollar General for a decent price. All the while saving me a trip to the dreaded Wal-mart.

The employees were very friendly and helpful; most importantly, they were around and visible, cleaning and stocking the store. The pricing is interesting, it's not much less expensive than a Walmart or a CVS but the wares are mixture of brand names and 99 cent store goods. The selection could be better but it does have more stock than say a gas station. It's definitely not a dollar though.

Now, I'm very thorough when I scan my things because I do not want to scan something twice, or skip something. With that, I am very slow. Well, the male supervisor overseeing us self-checkers was extremely terse. I felt rushed, when I asked him a question, he was not kind in answering me. I felt as though he was rushing me because he kept coming over and overseeing me, making me very uncomfortable. I did buy $372 worth of items, and maybe he was annoyed by the amount of time that I took, but there was not one single person behind me. I do not know what the issue was, but I found this visit to be pleasant until I had to encounter that cashier supervisor.

So, I am zooming in to a seminar tonight on "the chocolate regimen" hosted by ale Chocolat du Bouchard in Illinois. I have been craving chocolate since I signed up for this event...they are in Illinois and I am in El Paso Texas so I needed some good chocolate for tonight to enjoy while I watch the presentation. The operative word here is good chocolate- not left over Halloween candy, but the kind of thing you would eat if you were royalty. And so, being a Princess in my mind I opted for some truffles from this Hallmark store that is the closest one to me. I called them to see if the were open with current new restrictions.
