Low ball offers for sellers and the woman's plus size selection is none existing . plus size doesn't stop at size 18.

Loved the variety they had, service was ok I asked about sale and didn't know about it, showed text discount. But other that friendly and store is very well organized and clean. Fitting rooms are spacious the whole lighting in there is preety. Selection of all type of cloths was found from dresses to office clothing and value with extra discounts saved me some dollars. I've only been once but you can find amazing things if you look! They have a separate section for designer clothing that is fantastic. It's surprisingly well priced considering the clothing is quality and name brand. You get great value for your money. The service was friendly and I was asked many times if I could be assisted. So disappointed in this new location. I have sold clothes at the old N Mesa location before and got most of my clothes bought from them. Well this time around, I had great condition, name brand stuff that they did not even care to take. Also rude cashiers here. The only upside is that it's very clean and organized here. This place is just a "maybe" for me. They have a decent selection, a number of items I looked at had rips or stains. It requires a significant amount of time looking through racks and racks to find worthy items. Prices are varied, some are a steal and others arent worth this. Regarding the buying process, they are relatively quick (~30 minutes on busy days) but the value is questionable. $37 in store credit for three like new Lululemon items. If you opt for cash the pay is 20% less ($30). Staff is kind during check out, and purchase. Pretty repetitive like they're not listening, but alas. read more

Unfortunately it's really hard to only buy second hand and still look cute, the local thrift stores had really been disappointing me and my wardrobe has been shrinking as of late. I always love popping into second hand shops, but almost never find anything I like. This was not the case at uptown cheapskate. I was actually almost overwhelmed by the selections. Everything was in great condition, very on trend, styled beautifully throughout the store. I went back to the fitting room three times. I had never been to a "second hand store" because I thought it was nasty, But... since I ran into Uptown Cheapskate, I was impressed!!! The store is a bit crowed but because they have so much to offer, the clothes seems clean and ironed, it does NOT Stink as I had thought it would. very neat and orderly, the staff allows you to take your time without being bothered. Copying and pasting my review from Google because I gave them another shot at selling clothes because the owner personally called me and apologized. I tested them; sent in 3 bags of about 5k worth of clothing (mostly designer many NWT); told them to "donate" the what they didn't take to CASFV. I had an email with an offer of $14 about 5 minutes after I left the store! I asked to hold my items so I could check them as I changed my mind of donation and I could hear the panic in the managers voice. At first they tried to say the same thing as the East side store but the realized it had been minutes and not possible that CASFV showed up in the afternoon 5 minutes after me and they were able to process everything that fast lol. they STEAL inventory and claim donation... anyone that works with the IRS- needs to audit these people. Donate to Savers guys, or directly to women shelters; the cash you get from these people is typically enough to cover an emotional support coffee and that's about it . Your donation will never see the people it was meant to see, it will become inventory and free grabs for staff. I ended up going in a few days later; asking for a tax receipt- which they were NERVOUS to give me and writing what I donated on there with detail of retail value. What the IRS and CASFV make of it- not my problem. I was SO over this place that I gave the people in line behind me a credit I had (didn't even know I had a $35 credit). I'm an avid thrifter but this place is worse than goodwill- at least goodwill is honest about overpricing free merchandise and doesn't steal it from a charity that they claim to give to for a tax write off. Review from Google: I have reason to believe this store steals inventory and even steals from donated goods meant for CASFV. I have enjoyed shopping here and sell/ donate often as I really support CASFV and what they do in EP. I have been supporting the organization since nursing school. I had a questionable selling experience. I dropped off 4 bags of designer, new with tags, and clothing from my own store to sell, I opted to donate what they didn't buy. I received an unusually low buy offer for what I dropped off-which is fine, I mainly sell here because I was under the impression that what they don't take goes to the greater good. I asked to donate the items , which is what I usually do- but asked if I could have my bags back instead since the buy was so low and the value of the clothing was high so I could go through it before donating. Weirdly, the manager called me immediately and told me 3/4 bags had already been "donated", which I find odd since it was just hours between when I had dropped off the bags, and I also found it odd that not all the bags had been donated together... today when I went in to pick up the 1 bag- one of the employees was wearing one of the sweaters from my bags... I recognized it because it was a return from my online store. It makes me question what exactly happens to these donated items. I probably won't be selling here anymore and just donate straight to CASFV or charity. I understand they're donated items but if the staff are able to take from items that are supposed to be donated to charity that is really unethical and it's stealing...I mainly shop here based off the principal of recycling and who the organization supports but today really made me question the ethics behind this store. I'm a business owner myself and really support any organization that helps women in need in El Paso- I am curious as to what is going on, I wouldn't have sold my things here if I knew people were allowed to take from donations. When I picked up my bag it had a bunch of "donation" stickers on it and all the empty bags from my "donation" were shoved in this bag... I have a feeling they stole most of my items and the bag left was the actual donation that was going to go to CASFV.... They bought 29 items, I dropped off about 150; and received back in the bag 10. The 10 were of course the few no name brand or more used items... I am certain this is what they were going to donate. What's worse is they let me have a CASFV receipt! Lol. The girl was very apprehensive to give me a receipt too.. IRS, it isn't me don't come after me lol. I had friends tell me not go go here that they steal, but holy moly stealing from a women's shelter's donated goods is really bad. I hope I can get clarification, though no one would admit to stealing like this. Don't sell here, especially anyone with higher volume of clothes- just donate it, at least you know it's going to a good cause vs going into an employee's closet or free inventory for the store. read more

Im coming back from Yelp retirement just for this review. It is held to a certain standard because "up scale" brands are sold. This is a hyped thrift shop, a version of GameStop when it comes to brining in your clothing for store credit or money. The customer service is below value of treatment to the consumer/customer. The policy that is in place requires one of two options stay in the store for about thirty minutes and wait for the offer on your items. Either cash or store credit. Or leave for an estimate that can take up to two hours. Leaving requires your signature that you will accept whatever money they decide correct for they they will buy from you. The rest of the items will be donated to other agencies. There is no garante that even a large quantity or clothing will result in just one dollar of pay out. You won't know what items are kept or donated. Your items should be taken in disposable bags or boxes, which is not stated. Those are just my two cents on their two cents. read more

My daughter needed to leave without trying on her clothes. Doing so would have had her in a long line and she needed to go. No bathroom. Some clothing didn't fit and was returned 2-3 days later. They DO NOT give refunds. Store credit only. HORRIBLE policy. Do not shop here. read more

Best consignment store I've ever been in! I had a lot of unwanted clothes that I had accumulated and decided to sell my clothes here. Walked in on Saturday at 11:30 am and was quickly helped by the friendly employee. She explained to me how the selling process worked, and told me it would be about a 3 to 4 hour wait, or that I had three days to come back and pick up my unwanted items. In the meantime I looked around and was surprised to see how organized and clean the store was. The store itself did not have the "thrift store" smell that all the other consignment stores that I have been in have. I found some cute items that I decided to buy. I found a cute swimsuit for $12 and a nice dress shirt that I found in the clearance section for the hubs for $1.75!!!! Yes!! They also have clearance sections and the clothing items that are there have a percent discount on top of the already cheap prices!!! They ended up buying 36 of my clothing items and I had the option of store credit or cash. They were giving me $105 in store credit and $85 cash.. I'm very happy with the great customer service, how easy the selling process is, and how clean the store was. There are a ton of name brand items here and the quality is great! Probably one of the tidiest, well assorted gently used clothing shops I've seen! I like how super cheap and reasonable the prices are and the many different style clothing they have for men amd women. Naturally, there is a ton more to offer on the women's side but the setup for the men is still very extensive! I am thoroughly impressed. I think my favorite part of the place is how they also have an excellent set up for their fitting rooms. There were a good amount of them and they had door types, not just curtains. I also absolutely love how a part of their proceeds go to a better cause, and with each purchase, they give you a token to choose 1 of the few charitiea or foundations they donate to. That is so humble! Definitely my new favorite thrift shop! read more

Horrible service. First the staff was horrible and lying about who the manager was. I took four XL trash bags filled with clothes, shoes, and purses. Some stuff still had the price tags on them. I did the leave and come back option & donate all the unsellable stuff to charity & when they emailed me my receipt they were only giving me $5. Said they were stocked up on inventory and could only buy 1 item. And that the rest of my stuff was already donated to charity. (Mind you this was 2hrs after I dropped off the stuff.) It was a huge rip off. If you want to sell your stuff go to another side of town maybe the workers are different but not the one on Mesa. They never mentioned they were full on inventory which I believe they should mention before agreeing to donating the left over items. The manager (whoever that is because they kept lying) was absolutely no help. Do not go here trust me not fair nor friendly at all. read more

I normally shop at UpTown and recommend it to alot of friends ! But today's experience was terrible even after receiving help from the "manger" who took zero accountability for her actions and didn't make us feel understood or valued as a customer at all. I was charged an extra 15$ that was incorrectly put into the computer, the cashier double checked the receipt and then finalized the purchase and said I was free to go. She charged me an extra 15$ and was about to knowingly let me walk out the door . I caught it and went back to let her know , instead of reducing me or just canceling that one item completely she had to cancel the whole purchase and re charged everything , normally I don't mind but it was such a busy day I was in a rush and there was just little to zero care about my time and the fact that I was charged 15$ incorrectly and they were about to let it slide . Even after speaking to the manager she kept saying "yes I'm sorry" and that's it , she didn't care to learn more about what happened for fix the issue , she was ready to let us leave confused and unsatisfied . Very sad to hear the management and employee does not value or care for customers to admit when they've made a mistake and do the easiest thing possible to fix it and make sure the customer has an enjoyable experience. Will not be giving my services money or recommendations to this company or location anymore . What do you think ? read more

Uptown cheapskate has the buy back policy rigged to their total advantage . They expect you to wait whatever time they deem necessary no matter how inconvenient for the seller. It seems that they would like you to spend money in their store. If you have to leave their policy is that you can not refuse their offer no matter what. Also you have to make a trip back to their store that day to pick up any items you may not want donated. It's just not fair or friendly whatsoever. I'm sure it's good for their profit margins. read more

So it was my first time selling and I am not sure will be my future(50/50). It's a half and half feeling. The place is nice and neat, the staffs are okay, not too welcoming but not too rude either which was fine to me as long as I get my business done. The price is not too fair for me but understandable that they need to make profit as well, and on my side I definitely not needing those items anymore, so getting a little back is a plus. But the thing that irked me was how do they know what items are and aren't accept to be resale? Because I've seen worst conditions clothes compared to the ones I brought. I barely wear clothes for more than 3 times, so most of them are either new or excellent condition. So it'd be best for them to let the clients know why they denied the clothes. So next time we will know what not to bring. Because if I come to that store and see my dined clothes which I decide to let them donate to charity on the sale racks, I'd be really really upset. read more

I have tried for years to enjoy this store. However, for one they take the ugliest things but when you try to sell clothes they take next to nothing and give you cents. Secondly, I dropped clothes off recently, it wasn't ready within the time frame they gave me and I had to go out of town for a family emergency. I had my friend pick up the money they gave for my clothes (which they only give 3 days to do so, otherwise what? Do they keep your money and your clothes???) and I told they they could donate the rest (I don't doubt that they keep it and just resell it) but I wanted my bags back. They SPECIFICALLY asked if I wanted to donate the bags and I said NO. Why not put that as a note???? They kept my Nike duffle bag (worth around $50) and my Baggu tote bag (which if you know they're also not cheap tote bags) and when I finally came back and realized they never gave her the bags I called them and they said they donated it.... When it's not theirs to donate because I NEVER GAVE THEM PERMISSION TO DONATE THOSE BAGS. They did nothing to help and just said "we donated them because they were forgotten". It's not yours to decide???? I sold and donated hundreds of dollars worth of clothes and shoes and in return I got $50 and my bags stolen from me:) if they were really bothered by it being there they should have given me a call and double checked to confirm if they could donate something that was mine that did not have permission or consent to be donated. read more

Extremely impressive! I've been to second-hand shops in NY, Northern Virginia, and Chicago, and this is by far the chicest most hip second-hand boutique (not shop) I've been to. The owns & her staff have been extremely friendly & wanting to help consumers that enter the boutique. There are actual dressing rooms to try clothes on. The hangars are their signature hangars & not your standard wire hangars, they actually have signature bags for your purchases, and they have clothes and jewelry that are brand new, never worn. Walking in, one would think this was an upscale department store. Another outstanding marketing concept they've incorporated is to have an 'awards program'! What a grand way to get return customers, & customers love discounts! Their Grand Opening was such a successful turn-out, that I will return when U can browse through every clothes rack! This is definitely a must for all to experience...an upscale second-hand boutique! read more
