We don't have these in California, so I wasn't sure what to expect or even if it was a full grocery store. Happy to report, it absolutely is and it's a really good one. Huge kudos to the deli. Seriously, what a setup. So many options, great deals, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. I was just grabbing snacks for our hotel room and ended up way more impressed than I expected. The fruit bowls were so good and I loved the variety. The store itself was clean, organized, and just overall a really nice shopping experience. Prices weren't bad either. One thing that stood out to me was the alcohol situation. They didn't have liquor in the main store, but there was a separate smaller store right next to it just for alcohol. I'm guessing that's normal there, but definitely not something we do back home. Between the deli and the fruit alone, I was sold. Honestly wish we had these in California. Definitely beats Walmart.

Hey, one huge plus is that they have very competitively priced oil changes. I was going elsewhere until a full synthetic oil change was around one hundred dollars. Here at Walmart, it is about sixty dollars. You really can't beat that. Anyway, as for the store itself, it is your typical Walmart Supercenter. Huge store, but you don't see a lot of helpful employees. Hey, it is what it is. All in all, I will give this particular Walmart Supercenter four stars. Remember, it is a Walmart, but as far as Walmarts go, this particular Walmart is okay in my book.

Winn-Dixie has done an admirable job of turning itself around these last couple of years. When I…read morefirst moved to Florida back in 2001, Winn-Dixie was probably my go-to supermarket. Back then, the big supermarkets were Winn-Dixie, Publix and Albertson's. Well, Albertson's has pretty much disappeared from Florida and at one point, Winn-Dixie slid into a pretty significant decline. The saddest decline, at least for me, was their meat department. For a supermarket that once proudly called themselves the "Beef People," Winn-Dixie started relying on cheaper grades of beef, specifically meat that was inspected by the USDA, but not graded. This meat is very cheap and in my opinion, not worth buying. Well, Winn-Dixie finally took notice and focused on changing themselves for the better and started making changes for the better. The best thing for me was the changes in the meat department and their ficus on USDA Choice grade meat. They still have that inferior meat, but the emphasis seems to be the USDA Choice meat. The staff is friendly and it seems even the supermarkets are getting a face-lift and modernizing themselves and cleaning up. The vibe makes for a better supermarket shopping experience. All in all, Winn-Dixie has earned my recommendation again.

One of the biggest reasons that I go to Aldi's for is that they carry Amoroso's rolls, a staple in Philadelphia and an absolutely fantastic bread. Since discovering that Aldi's carries Amoroso's, I keep this bread in my pantry. One thing I don't like about Aldi's is that they do not have phone lines in their locations. They claim it is to keep costs down, however I think they are just interested in keeping their total costs down. A phone would not affect the bottom line of a location, however when you factor in the multitude of locations it is a huge amount of money that Aldis does not have to lay out.
