The staff don't really seem to want to be here, which seems to be the case at both locations. It's a dollar store, so you can't expect anything fancy. I get plastic ware, ziploc bags and garbage bags here mostly. If you're traveling, they also have soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc. It's nice to buy the dollar toothbrushes so you can throw them away on the way home. One strange thing I noticed is that the carts are really low here. I am not tall, and the cart was so low it was awkward for me to push with my purse on my arm.

I feel like every grocery store i attempting to meet the Wegman's standard. The environment is well decorated, the staff is well trained, the selection is on a different level. The produce section is where we zipped through and it's second only to a home garden. No cleaning of dirt required. The stores have always been clean, well maintained, and well stocked. It's just a Rochester staple. This is quite literally the Gold Standard of Grocery Stores. Wegman's is in a league of its own.

They have the bad kind of water and very little space for maneuvring, or learing how to spell maneuvring. It's great that a tiny town like Holley, though, has a store like this. Chain info: I come to Dol Gen every Saturday to get 5 dollars off 25 (or sometimes off 30), which allows me to stock up on water from Tennessee (which tastes much better than tap water or any other brand of water, to me), and to stock up on tons of cat food for my kids, too. However, some stores (such as this one) sell the wrong kind of water (from Pennsylvania instead), which tastes awful. I go to different Dollar Generals just to mix it up, and so I can put more of them on the Yelp review map, and because it's always useful to know which ones have the good waters vs the bad.

What's nice about the new location is the space--while the previous store felt cramped, this one is light, bright, and filled with a wide variety of products. The staff is present and generally friendly. This place has something for everyone. Sometimes you'll find everything you need, and other times maybe not, but they do offer some lovely items. If you're unsure what to give as a gift, a gift card is always a good option. They also share a large parking lot, so parking is convenient.
