I know we are…read morein the crime and thievery infested waters of Southwick, MA and we need cutting edge, dystopian technology to handle petty theft at the register, but I should not have to feel so untrusted and so under the heel of a surveillance program that I need to change my already honest and diligent behavior as to not trigger it because I didn't lift the four cases of water from the bottom of my cart while scanning them. We've spent thousands of dollars and minutes at your store and use the self-checkout as an impersonal, quick, and self-sufficient convenience. Now, it's miserable and slow half the time we visit and 50% of the people around us are complaining about the same thing. And to the minimum wage employees working at the store during an already struggling economy and job market, it's sad to see you embrace a technology that is literally and openly aiming to replace you in 5 years. Don't be so naive as to welcome it beside you, no matter what your manager/store owner tells you.
