I always get great deals on men's Jeans and my wife always gets great deals on her Jeans and rider shirts plus other cloths are good prices. We also shop for children's clothes there and get great deals. You do have to really search sometimes to find the great deals but you usually find them. The store is usually not very crowded and their are not very long lines to check out. The only draw back is their store hours. They close at 7:00 p.m during the week and the store is about 50 miles from our house so it's almost impossible to go during the week. They are only open til 8:00 p.m. on the Friday's and Saturdays. The store is all that is in this area and it is in a small town. The VF Outlet in Livingston, texas is usually very unorganized and a mess and it is very difficult to find stuff in that store.

The value at Ollie's is great. We didn't have a ton of time to shop but we nabbed an A&M garden flag for $6.99 and a big bag of Brownie Brittle for $5.99. (Now I will note that we have been "burned" by food at Ollie's in the past -not this particular location- when we bought some mint patties which were infested with bugs. So yes we are "nervous" buying food here but I think that if they are well packaged, that shouldn't normally be a problem.) Now for the service. Wow. Aimee was our cashier and was FABULOUS. She was so friendly and helpful. She got us signed up for Ollie's rewards and explained everything so thoroughly. I honestly don't know why we didn't sign up before. It's not like we shop here much but the points don't expire so we should have done it sooner. Thankfully this wonderful employee was able to get us signed up. Like cell phone accessories brand LeYi. I never knew this brand until I bought a cell phone case from Amazon. They got unique design and functionality. Yesterday July 31 was their first day. I arrived around 3 pm. They were busy unloading and setting up the shop. There were few customers. Employees greeted everyone as we came in. Prices are still handwritten on the crates. I saw $1, $2, $3, $4, $5... But I saw nice stuff in the crates. Oh, they take cash and credit cards. I wasn't planning to stay long because I could overspend for trinkets. Some items can become customized gifts for businesses. I'll be back when we can safely meet in person. And they are the only place I know that correctly calls "sausage kolaches" as their real name--Klobásník--or Klobásníky (plural.) but don't expect those to still be there. On a weekday, they might still have these Czech treats until 3 pm, but on the weekends, they go fast! Always friendly staff and i just love looking through their home decor. They have the cutest little tchotchkes that are locally crafted and so wonderful for home, garden, or lawn. I have bought many a christmas and birthday gift on the way. Great metal art as well! The bathrooms are always clean and smell fine. I highly recommend stopping at least one time to see everything they have to offer. It's a true, "small Texas town" stop! Oh, and set the GPS! Today was my mom and I first time visiting an Ollie's store. We had a great time, at first. The…read morestore was clean, organized and there was a great selection of books. The problem came when it was time to check out. The guy on the first register from the checkout line to the left around 1:45pm on December 24, 2024 is the reason I am leaving this review. My mom and I were next in line to checkout and the other registers were occupied by other customers alsobchecking out. When the young cashier guy finished ringing up his customer instead of checking us out next, he walks off and pretends to busy himself with something which was very obvious he didn't want to ring up anyone BUT when the next register opened up and my mom and I walked to the next cashier he immediately went back to his register to take the next customer behind us. At that moment it was extremely clear he didn't not want to ring us up for whatever reason but that was extremely rude! I don't want to say race was a part of it but I can't think of any other reason he choose to intentionally not ring us up when we had the same amount of items the customer he helped before and after us had. This really messed up our first time experience at Ollies. The cashier lady to the right side we ended up going to was very nice and signed my mom up for the Ollies Army rewards. After we left I called and spoke to the manager, I think his name is Mike or Michael. I explained what just took place and he was very nice and said he will run the cameras back and also notify upper management. We appreciate him for hearing our concern and not dismissing us. Hopefully the cashier takes a customer service course or finds a new job where he free to be rude else where. This was very upsetting to be treated the way we were and it being obvious in plain sight. Hopefully a real consequence for the young boy comes out of it.

Employees, even managers, are unempowered to make small decisions without input from owners. Owners seem fixated on the bottom line instead of honest business practices. Heard a manager badmouthing owners while other employees also were frustrated. When your own employees are so quick to express frustration toward owners, it's obvious there's a problem.

In the dairy aisle, a child suddenly ran toward us, and my dog barked once in response. He was fully leashed, under control, and I immediately picked him up. A blonde, white male employee( i believe his name was Max) who appeared to be around 6 ft tall aggressively told me to leave the store immediately and continued following us all the way out, making me feel intimidated, unsafe, and extremely uncomfortable. The way this was handled was completely inappropriate and could have easily triggered a panic attack. The situation became so distressing that I was forced to call the police. This treatment toward a customer with a service dog is unacceptable and shows a serious lack of staff training regarding ADA rights. Management needs to address this immediately.
