Visited on: multiple dates from 2012 to present…read more To my knowledge, this and Consumers are the only conventional dedicated grocery stores in Stillwater, and Food Pyramid is probably the most well-rounded grocery store, with the best selection of items and the most pleasant shopping environment. They tend to have better quality items (a good example is in ice cream) and the freshest produce. Their main downfall is their somewhat higher prices in comparison to Consumers and Walmart.

Just had the weirdest experience shopping at Food Pyramid, which is now the only non-Walmart option…read morein town, since Consumers closed down. Went in the Sunday before spring semester started to find a completely barren produce section. Displays were entirely empty - it looked like Consumers did RIGHT BEFORE IT CLOSED FOREVER. I seriously wondered if FP was shutting down too, but the rest of the store seemed fairly well stocked. *Except* for the organic milk, which was entirely gone too. ?! So two of the key things that I went there to get - produce and milk - were fully out of stock. I've made a concerted effort never to shop at Walmart, but this was a major fail and poses the question: what is the point of going to Food Pyramid in the first place if I have to go to Walmart anyway to get the stuff FP doesn't have? Asked a few people at check-out what was going on, and no one seemed to have any answers. Consumers was not slick and had extremely limited stock, but at least I had the sense that it was being well managed. Am not sure what's going on at FP.

I wasn't disappointed, although it may be a shock to people who are used to Supercenters and other larger stores. It has a real "food coop" vibe to it. Aisles are narrow and when it's busy [and it just opened, so it'll be busy a lot of the time] you can really get crowded to where you can't get to where you need to go in the store at certain points. But be patient and it'll be worth it. They mainly have store brands, with some exceptions--they have brand name sandwich meat, ice cream, and a few other things. The store brand is usually a good 20-30% cheaper than Wal-Mart, even the Great Value stuff. A lot of the store brand items are things where there isn't a big difference between store brand and name brand anyway, like oatmeal or canned tomatoes. I thought the produce was slightly better quality than Wally World's, and it cost less to boot. Bring bags or purchase them for cheap [six cents for paper, a dime for the durable kind.] Or you can use their boxes, similar to Costco. You probably won't find everything there, but depending on what you tend to buy, you can probably get to where you do at least half your shopping here, maybe more. I do wish they had more vegetarian type items [Morningstar type products, etc..] Don't forget to bring a quarter for a shopping cart. You'll get it back when you return it, although in my case someone was nice and just offered me theirs. Staff are really friendly and at this point are spending a lot of time explaining how things work. I'll definitely become a regular here, but I'll probably try to come on Sunday mornings or some other non-peak time, if there is such a thing here...

It was interesting to find out that they don't have grocery bags (unless you purchase paper ones), but rather you can grab one of their boxes from anywhere and use it to carry your groceries. I just went tonight and bought good, quality meats and produce for $50 for the next week or so. This is so much cheaper and better than any of the other grocery stores I have been to. They also have a great discount isle and a fun little section of random things where I even bought my dog a sweater! I will always go to Aldi if given the option. Only downside is that something they don't carry everything I need for a recipe so I have to go to another store.

The adults who own/work at the restaurant do not speak English. The service is a bit lacking and when we were done, we couldn't find anyone. We also had left over food but they didn't have lids that fit their containers. It was a bit frustrating. One male worker was trying to close the lid on my container and his hand slipped a bit and his finger went into my left overs. The food, however, was delicious so I'm torn as to whether or not I'd return there. The portions were generous. We didn't order the cream cheese garlic naan (we ordered regular garlic naan) and didn't realize they had this on their menu until we tasted it. We thought it was their unique naan. When we looked at the menu again we realized the young girl had just written our order wrong. It tasted fine but not something we will likely order again.

Who knew Stillwater had authentic Himalayan/ Nepalese food?…read more Yes to their chicken momos, butter chicken, mango chicken, kormas, biryanis, and naan. A tad pricey but worth it for the cost benefit, for sure. Biryani portions are large. Everything is as flavorful as you want it to be. The spices and aromatics are *on fire*! One of my go to places when I don't feel like cooking at home but still want something warm, comforting, and delicious.
