I had never been to and Aldi when I decided to start going this past year. After a year of going, I have never been disappointed with any of my purchases or the quality of their produce. It was interesting to find out that they don't have grocery bags (unless you purchase paper ones), but rather you can grab one of their boxes from anywhere and use it to carry your groceries. I just went tonight and bought good, quality meats and produce for $50 for the next week or so. This is so much cheaper and better than any of the other grocery stores I have been to. They also have a great discount isle and a fun little section of random things where I even bought my dog a sweater! I will always go to Aldi if given the option. Only downside is that something they don't carry everything I need for a recipe so I have to go to another store. read more

Aldi is a simple store. They've got their own system, and that's what saves the company (and consumers) money. Use the carts for a quarter, and return the carts to get a quarter. Bag your own items in your own bags (or use one of the cardboard boxes from the store). Beware of the first aisle; it tempts you with junk food and sugar (but some is ok). If produce goes bad, Aldi is pretty good about taking it back. I'd suggest this store over Walmart on price, under for selection, and under for location (the old Walmart is closer to housing on the Southside of campus). I'm no die hard fan, but I generally like it more. read more

i love this store! a college kid staple. great prices and very neat and organized but not overwhelming. never too busy too.

It was my first time here and I'd really built it up in my mind...finally, an affordable alternative to Wal-Mart. I wasn't disappointed, although it may be a shock to people who are used to Supercenters and other larger stores. It has a real "food coop" vibe to it. Aisles are narrow and when it's busy [and it just opened, so it'll be busy a lot of the time] you can really get crowded to where you can't get to where you need to go in the store at certain points. But be patient and it'll be worth it. They mainly have store brands, with some exceptions--they have brand name sandwich meat, ice cream, and a few other things. The store brand is usually a good 20-30% cheaper than Wal-Mart, even the Great Value stuff. A lot of the store brand items are things where there isn't a big difference between store brand and name brand anyway, like oatmeal or canned tomatoes. I thought the produce was slightly better quality than Wally World's, and it cost less to boot. Bring bags or purchase them for cheap [six cents for paper, a dime for the durable kind.] Or you can use their boxes, similar to Costco. You probably won't find everything there, but depending on what you tend to buy, you can probably get to where you do at least half your shopping here, maybe more. I do wish they had more vegetarian type items [Morningstar type products, etc..] Don't forget to bring a quarter for a shopping cart. You'll get it back when you return it, although in my case someone was nice and just offered me theirs. Staff are really friendly and at this point are spending a lot of time explaining how things work. I'll definitely become a regular here, but I'll probably try to come on Sunday mornings or some other non-peak time, if there is such a thing here... read more

Definitely good prices. The cart idea is alright. Bringing an extra quarter is kind of a pain. Need some hand baskets. Extremely narrow aisles. Makes it a little uncomfortable. I'm surprised that it wasn't bigger, seeing as how much land was there. It's really high paced, and considering the big range of age in the Stillwater population, kind of disappointed. When we lived in Oklahoma City we used to go there to get canned vegetables. Then we moved to Stillwater and the closest store was in Ponca City. So I started trying some of their other products and found them to be as good or better than the name brands at Walmart and much cheaper. So I got online and asked why we didn't have a store here and much to my surprise they built one in a few months. Needless to say I'm delighted and buy all my groceries there now, the prices are so much cheaper and the quality is great. Recently they came out with new cleaning products that rival Dawn and Cascade. They're great for people with a limited budget. read more

Store was clean and we'll air conditioned, prices were fair or better than other stores but wow the checkout line was absolutely terrible. Took 10min of waiting in line to be told to go to another line to finish checking out. We told the checker that we had been waiting already and didn't want to go to the back of the other line. He rolled his eyes and said okay, then was extremely rough with our groceries throwing boxes on top of fresh produce. When we got to the car we realized our eggs were broken, I promptly took them back in and was told to get another carton.. shouldn't have happened in the first place. read more

This is a standard Aldi and can get pretty busy at some times of the day. It has almost all the basic things you might need plus some really random shit. It's always fun to see what they have from week to week. We've seen everything from Sunflowers to a welder. Everything here is MUCH cheaper than you can find anywhere else. Although, for better quality produce I would go to the Walmart on 51 or Food Pyramid. You can usually find eggs here for 58-98 cents during the summer. Make sure to bring your own bags or take a box from the store. I go here over Walmart or Food Pyramid every time. read more

I too am always impressed with the amount I can get for less at Aldi. However, during a recent trip to the store in Stillwater, OK (that opened not too long ago), I had a not so great experience. I have had the same procedure for months place all my things in a box, put it on the belt, the cashier swipes it and puts it back in the box, I place the full box in my cart and on we go. Until last Saturday, when this process ticked off the cashier (1 of 2). She took my things out of the box and to my surprise started chunking things in my basket as if they were softballs. I asked what the problem was and she didn't respond. I spoke to the manager-a VERY meek and skittish girl and she said she was sorry approximately 4x and that she would talk to her cashier. Now, I know that won't happen. In remedy, I am going to decrease my over $500/month contribution to the store and stick to only getting milk and bread there. Looks like close coupon watching at other stores is what I will go back to. read more
