My co-worker tells me today, how he got a free turkey at jumbo's yesterday with a 75.00 purchase. In the past few months I've noticed the fruit turn to garbage (understandable as the season ends), also bought 2 lbs of crab legs which smelled like ammonia as soon as I opened them (also a bad sign), and now I buy frozen (fully cooked chicken strips for 11.99 Foster Farms Brand) and they are raw after almost doubling the cook time for a crispy texture. First... let me say, I love Jumbos Grocery/Deli. Great selections, good food. My review is for the Bakery part of Jumbos West . Cakes are good tasting but the service and employees suck. I ordered a cake and went to pick it up only to find out there was no cake. It was to be for my son's 14th birthday. When I ordered it, I made sure they had my full name, phone number, etc. Guess that didn't help. The girl working the bakery had no explanation, just shrugged her shoulders and walked away. I guess I will now have to use a different bakery just to ensure my orders are actually made. Similar situation happened at my daughters birthday in April. One of Enid's best kept secrets. Jumbos North (which is the original location, before expanding to 30th) may indeed have the best burger in town. They offer a great selection of hot foods and the deli salad bar is fresh and clean. The fried chicken is excellent and when I was there last Monday people were waiting for it to come out of the fryer. After 10 min, while I got some shopping done, I got the last 8 piece meal. As mentioned before, there is also an olive bar and the seating is much more than one would expect from a grocery store deli. My only suggestions would be to make more deli sandwiches and to step up the sushi bar. The sushi roll selection is minimal - maybe a roll of the day would add more variety? Jumbo's hot (& cold) deli used to be as good as it gets. Not so now. Used to get a perfect chicken-fried steak dinner every Friday, reliably for years. Tonight, as usual for the last several months, the steak was NOT fresh. Under lights & so dry a knife won't cut the edges. Same has been true 3 out of the last 4 visits. The ONLY time it was fresh & perfect was last time because I had the staff cook it fresh on the spot while I telling them how AWFUL the prior couple of visits had been. Placed an order for a hamburger to go and continued to shop a few items we needed, After a 20 minute wait and noticing no burgers on the grill and no tickets in queue, I asked the status of my order only to find they had not even started it. Recently you refused services to a local Veteran and her service dog for service related PTSD - properly displayed on the dog's service vest. Not only is this appalling, but it is in direct violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act. As is having your staff member ask for documentation and what the disability this specific Veteran has. I would strongly suggest you hold a training session with your staff to prevent this from happening again. Went thru the checkout lane and I think it was the manager helping bag my groceries. Anyway, he was a wonderful person. He was so friendly. Asked me if I found everything. I told him I did but I was looking for pretzel chips. He said that if there not over by deli that he'll be sure and get me some the next time I come in. I told him that would be great! This place was awesome to shop for groceries at. My husband is in the military. They gave me a discount and they informed me that the give an additional 10% off groceries on Mondays for the military. This was an excellent change from attending the overcrowded and overwhelmingly full Walmart. Jumbos has a small home town feel to it. I will be back again bc they made me feel welcome. I am a senior citizen and shopped on line for the first time. There was no place where I could tell that I was a senior citizen so I did not get the 10% discount nor did I have a place for the rewards card. I tried calling to ask these questions, but there was no answer the phone just rang & rang. I think I will, I know that I will try their competition next time. Make sure you plan on grocery shopping the first time you go to jumbo foods, because we didn't, we just went for salmon and were so blown away by actually having decent options in Enid, that we did ALL of our grocery shopping on accident. So many quality products and unique items available, and so many choices! The fresh food section is wonderful! Seriously! We eat very healthy, and it's been a little bit of a struggle in Enid sometimes, so we stood there, staring at the produce with wide,glistening and happy tear filled eyes. This is the best grocery store in Enid in my estimation. The store is large, and it's been clean on my visits. It has a solid prepared food section which serves fried chicken, deli classics, and some surprisingly good barbecue. Additionally, there is a standard salad bar in the middle of a large seating area. On my visits, this area has always been clean, and there is a TV if you're on your lunch break. You could do a lot worse than grabbing a plate of hot food or hitting the salad bar at lunch time and eating in the dining area at Jumbo. The produce I've purchased at Jumbo has always been of good quality. I've not purchased anything from the meat counter. The deli counter is typical for a large grocery store. It has several varieties of lunch meats and cheeses sliced to order. They'll typically give you a sample if you've not tried something. What I like about this store is that during peak hours (after work, during a holiday weekend) they always seem to have extra checkers. I can't recall having a long wait in the checkout line at Jumbo. Additionally, the checkers are usually friendly. The store is easy in and out with exits on both the north and west sides of the parking lot. It was my first time to store. Placed a special order for delux cupcakes (huge cupcakes)like 4-5 inches) of chocolate and carrot cake. Said there was an up charge of 2.00 for not getting 2 dozen. I was ok with that. When picked up they were little cupcakes ( like 2 inches) with very little decorations (sprinkles). The cupcakes in the case looked better than these. When I asked she said I told you the price and didn't think you wanted to spend the 6.99 a cupcake. My husband was also on the phone with me and he also said she never mentioned it. The gave me an extra dozen to try to fix it but very unimpressed. It's the day if the event what else was I to do so had to take them as there were not many in the case that looked better. Love Jumbo Foods! The store is always clean, the staff always friendly. They have a fantastic deli with a seating area large enough to rival the average size restaurant. Not only do they have the typical deli foods, they also have a sandwich counter, a smoke house which smokes meats daily, a sushi selection in the deli case, and the deli counter can cook-to-order burgers and fries on a per-order basis. The deli has a daily special, and on fridays, it's a Spare Rib special: a rack of ribs for $11.99 or a rack and two sides for $14.99. I've never had anything come out of their deli that I didn't just love. They have a full service bakery, meat and seafood counter, floral department and pharmacy, the later two of which also offer delivery. The grocery prices are higher than WalMart and considerably higher than Aldi, but this is a family-owned and run store. (Along with Jumbo East they also own Save-A-Lot.) Great big supermarket that has pretty much everything you need. Good produce section. Reasonable prices. They even have a little cafe in there. The one drawback is that their dairy section is heavy on the cheap brands like Best Choice and Hiland, and I've noticed those cheap brands put fillers in their yogurts, so that makes me wonder what they're putting in their cheese and milk too. If Jumbo can get some high quality dairy, such as Mountain High Yoghurt, then I'd give them the 5 star rating. read more

My experience at the bakery has been 100% negative. The last 2 times I have been there for my kids birthday cakes they have messed it up. On my sons in june it was suposed to say his name Michael Kirk. However, it read Michael and Kirk. (I never called about this one) I just thought well everyone makes a mistake now and then...On my daughters birthday last weekend it was supposed to read Alivea. Instead it read Alivia. Instead of trying to work this out I was informed that her BEST cake maker had done my order so somehow this must have been my fault...I was so angry at this point I just let the manager know we would no longer be using there services and hung up!
