I walked into Hometown Collectibles in Emerald Square Mall. As I walked into the store I greeted the guy working behind the he said hi and I proceeded to look through the store. About 10 minutes later an older man (who I discovered later was one of the owners) walks in and starts to loudly berate the counter worker about a person wandering around the store (me) and he wasn't watching me well enough. I have been collecting comics for many years and in the back of the store I noticed a huge stock of comic books, but they are separated from the customers by display counters so there is no way for me to look through or purchase any of them. The owner came over to me pretty much to see what I was doing in his store and I asked about how he sells the comics. He told me a story about how he sold some comics at a low price and that purchaser's friend came in to also buy comics and "bragged" about getting a good deal. The owner does not sell out of the store anymore because he doesn't think he can get every penny he can and will only sell graded books online. I highly suggest you stay clear of this place. The owner does not care about making happy customers only about how much money he can get out of you. The prices are unrealistically high, the greed factor is very strong with this establishment. The owner will not even sell to you unless he is confident he has gotten your very last dollar. The owner treats both his employees and customers with a great deal of contempt.

It's located south of the intersection at Route 1 & Route 152, and right off I-495 (exit 14) for Rt 1 towards Attleborough. Main point, it's in a convenient location. While it's not as large as it probably should have been built (especially with the casino across the street now....), it has some decent stores and an ideal setup. The parking lot is large, spread out and perfect for this type of complex. Sometimes a back up occurs at the beginning of one of the closest parking lanes, but it's never too much of a problem. Only complaint with parking is that Chili's NEVER has enough parking. Getting in and out of here is also easy. They recently replaced the traffic light at the intersection of the plaza and Taunton Street, and made it even easier. The flow of traffic is actually surprisingly good and much better than most other shopping centers I can think of. That being said, this area isn't nearly as busy as where most other big-box shopping centers. This shopping center consists of: Chili's Target Stop&Shop TJ Maxx / HomeGoods Sleepy's (or Mattress Firm now?) Panera (and possibly something else I'm forgetting) Good place to stop if you are in the area, or looking for some shopping after winning big at the casino across the street! Only real complaint about the shopping center is that it's so spread out that other buildings could be built to make it bigger, better, and more of a destination. There aren't too many stores in this complex currently! 3 stars.

Silly me, assuming that because I was in an outlet village, that a New Balance establishment here…read morewould also be an outlet - you know, like back when outlet meant prices better than what you might get at a department store. Nope, this is a "Factory Store." Your discount options are limited to (a) a display of shoes/sneakers at about 1/3 off in the back corner on the right, (b) any discount you might get from the outlet village discount booklet, and (c) a discount if you buy a SECOND pair. So if you only wanted one pair, like I did, I guess you bring a friend who also wants a pair? To be fair, I did not get the discount booklet, so I don't know how much of a discount I would have gotten - or how much I would have had to buy to get it, but quite frankly, even a 20% discount probably wouldn't have been enough incentive here. I hope you're looking for running/outdoor/tennis shoes. I came here for walking shoes/sneakers. These were relegated to about 1/4 of one side of a display. They didn't have anything wide in my size. Even more challenging, I actually wanted a pair of WHITE sneakers... they had one on display, but nothing in or near my size in any of the nearby boxes contained white sneakers. They probably also don't want to hear that I got a similar style of sneakers by a not-so-big-name brand for 1/3 the cost recently, at a K-mart!
