This location is hit or miss. There are times where it is well organized and there is a great selection and there are times where it feels like someone just randomly dropped things in with no order or sense of why. Service is kind of hit or miss too. There are times that the line is extremely long and it is hard to find someone to ask questions to and there are times where it seems you bump into associates everywhere. Im short, it can be a great place for bargain hunting, but it can also leave you with nothing but an empty cart and frustration.

If you are buying candy or food, check the expiration dates. Things are usually still good, but in the candy I did find boxes of halloween candy that was dated two years before. Everything else I found was fairly current, though. Often times the produce is close to the end of its life, but, for example, I got pounds of strawberries for a fraction of the price of what I would have paid elsewhere and was able to make an incredible amount of jam with it! The staff is generally pretty friendly and very knowledgeable. They were easily able to tell me where things were when I needed something and they were very efficient at check out.

They have their pretty standard staple items, but they also have some unexpected finds. It is also great for putting together travel kits (grabbing cheap tooth brushes, tooth paste, brushes, soaps, degradants etc). It is also a great place to buy helium balloons. They last forever and are so much cheaper than you can get them anywhere else. They have a standard collection available year round but also stock for special holidays like Mothers Day and graduations. This location always seems to be well stocked, fairly organized, and the staff has always been friendly.

They also have a wide variety of snacks including many international snacks like ramen chips and japanese gummies. Staff is friendly when you ask questions and checkout is generally fairly quick. They have cash only and credit only check out areas (and the staff direct you to which one to go to). It is a monitored self checkout. We get a lot of different stuff here on a weekly or bi weekly basis. My favorite is when we can find different mustards, gourmet coffees, Oreo cookies (For me) and a lot of items that if you can find it here they usually are a good price. We recently purchased a grill, patio pillows, an umbrella stand, and a 48 inch round table for our new deck. We waited to make these big purchases when they had their friends and family discount weekend. My wife belongs to their rewards club so she gets emails all the time for these sales and great coupons. We saved over $80 on this weekend! It's a big store and I think the workers are helpful too. There are other stores in the area like big lots where the employees aren't too happy and aren't' helpful. They are helpful at this Big Lots We couldn't fit our 48 inch table into our car so we had to tie it to the roof. The worker who was helping us got us some twine but I end up just using rope that I had in my car. The worker went back inside but if I needed more help I'm sure he would have helped more. Overall I really like this Big Lots and if you don't go to Big Lots check it out. Compare what you buy at your regular grocery store or (Target). It takes a little more work but you will save money!

I also bought a Dutch oven and a covered deep pan. For the Dutch oven I had to look in 2 different locations for one that had a price so that was annoying. The cleanliness and organization of this store is sub-par over several visits. You can be a thrift store and be tidy at the same time, trust me. Try some other thrift/discount stores and you will see (Rose's in West Mifflin for one or any Ollie's or Big Lots). So, over all, I give just 3 stars for OK but there are better ones for great deals.

But, the shelves are pure chaos. Not because customers put things back in the wrong places. There just doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the products' positions on the shelves. I was specifically looking for some organizer bins/baskets/containers. That aisle made my head hurt! Things weren't grouped by color, or by like item. I saw a cute set of desk organizer baskets I liked, but they were not the color I wanted. I searched for the ones I wanted, and saw how everything seemed to be haphazardly placed. I sometimes don't mind chaos, but in a store aisle dedicated to organization, I do, in fact, mind chaos. We did end up buying a small toy which was on clearance. I let my son stand in line while I looked at some things on a shelf near the registers. There was one cashier, and she very rudely snipped at my son for standing in line behind the other customer, instead of behind the "wait here" sign. (This was in 2026. No Covid, no pandemic. My kid can read, but he overlooked the sign and stood where he would/should at any other store.) Overall, this is not the worst store, but it doesn't have anything special, and I left feeling bad, which is not what I want from a shopping experience.
