What I first…read morenoticed the moment I walked into to the Hy-Klas store, is that it's incredibly clean - every aisle is as neat as a pen, all the products perfectly faced, the glass cooler cases sparkle, and the floors are as clean as can be. The prices are competitive, especially if you shop the sales in their flyer - I compared some of the items I commonly buy to the prices at the big chain store in Smithville, and Hy-Klas was no higher. It's a family-owned store, which I prefer, especially to the new DG market down the street in Lathrop, that is owned by Citi group corporations headquartered in NYC (go compare some of their prices - the DG market prices their Jergens lotion almost double the price of Target). The employees are friendly and helpful at Hy-Klas, and I liked that they always take time to visit with their elderly customers. Hy-Klas Foods reminds me of the local grocery stores my family use to shop at when I was growing up. There's also a Hy-Klas Foods in Gower as well. which is just as clean, sparkling, and friendly as the one in Lathrop.

Lathrop is small and it's only real competition is Dollar General. It is a great alternative to driving to Cameron or Kearney for staples. So i give for 4 stars because they hang onto meat to long, they do not update Google on hours and holidays.

Number 1 auto center I almost didn't want to write this because I hope I don't end up eating my…read morewords later--but this is hands down the #1 auto center I've been to. I've been there three times now, driving from Liberty, and I've tried plenty of auto places across the state in 40 years . The people here are fantastic. I couldn't ask for better employees. I even watched how they treated other customers--very respectful and patient. They were especially kind with me, even when I didn't fully understand everything as a older lady . It all started with a phone call--a very nice lady who told me to come in and that they'd take care of my tire. Meanwhile, the Walmart auto center in Liberty/KC wouldn't even answer their phone for two days. The difference in service is night and day. Here, they got my car done in about 45 minutes. In Liberty, it's never less than two hours.Ive lived in Liberty 15 yrs and worse Walmart ever . I really hope ES Walmart stay this way, because I'll gladly keep driving the extra 15 miles for this kind of service. .. Here's a suggestion--maybe consider giving this team a bonus for being one of the best Walmart Auto Centers around. The store is a refreshing throw-back to the small, privately owned family grocers that I grew up shopping at during the 60s. It's amazingly clean, from the shelves to the floors, and the employees are helpful and friendly. It pretty much has all the basics and competitive prices - I shop their flyer ads which are consistently good deals.
