Really surprised by the 4.5/5 star average on here. I stopped by here today because I wanted to see…read moreif they had some Halloween cards. I normally go the Dollar Tree in Troy (in the Walmart plaza) but I was on my way to Panera to pick up curbside, and this was the only dollar store in that area. It had kind of an old/funky smell inside. I saw they had cards through the window, so that was encouraging, but their Halloween selection is pretty limited; they maybe had like 10 different card designs to choose from, but 7-8 of those were for little kids (grandkids, children, etc). I ended up buying five for family and friends, and good thing I did because they have a $5 minimum limit for credit cards. The final reason I'm giving them 3 stars: the cashier was not wearing a mask. The man next to him beside the counter was, FWIW. He had a very thin layer of plastic sheeting between me and him, so I'm guessing that's why he thought it was fine ... however, I'm "high risk," so I definitely wiped off my credit card with a wipe when I got back to my car. I wouldn't stop by here again, I will just go to Dollar Tree next time. But they do have a lot of cards (non-Halloween ones) if you need them.

Thankfully they had every item I was looking for, and so much more. You can even buy refrigerator and freezer items if you need something quick. The only reason I dropped a star in my review was because of the cleanliness of the store, mainly the floor and disorganized displays, as well as some empty product shelves. But I'm happy to say I did see a couple employees working to refill some of the empty stock, and the employee whom checked us out at the register was very polite. Overall I'd have no problem coming back to this Family Dollar to grab small items when needed.

They advertise far lower prices which really makes no sense. A retailer sold it to them, they have to mark-up the price to turn a profit. Not much room to lower the price for us. "Why don't you call one of the other three people in the store, I've been here since 5:00am and I'm tired." It's only 1:30 in the afternoon. Are you serious? Maybe Ollie is working these boys too hard? Another oddity. A relief cashier came up and rang up one customer to relieve a long line. Then walked away as we approached his check out. There were still three people behind us! The other ladies seem nice and the store does have an incredibly huge selection.
