No receipts available at the register. No thanks. Always check the prices of what they are scanning. Google them.

I'm so happy they put this Dollar General in town, hopefully it does well…read more The prices are really awesome and they have a great variety of things. Food (cold cases too), household items, paper goods, pet items, baby products, even clothes. They have a cute little seasonal section. Large variety of gift cards to purchase. The workers manning the cashier are always nice I had all intentions of giving this place 5 stars and I will be coming back again and again, but.. On our most recent shopping trip yesterday, among other items, I picked up a 4 pack of juice boxes for our son for $1 (good Minute Maid ones) and I open the package, took the plastic off to load them into the fridge and notice that the Best By date was June 6th. Yesterday was June 19th. So I guess my fault for not checking the dates first, but I figured everything looks so organized and pristine in the store...

I walked into the store and the employees were closely talking to each other, appearing not busy or cleaning. They were gossiping about the "old people" shopping there. As a young "Baby Boomer" myself, I ignored them and continued to shop for what I call quarantine provisions. I noticed many teenagers were visiting employees. No customer service was provided to me and they seemed annoyed having to help. I had to call a young lady over to ring my items. Another employee chose to stand closely to me, watching over my shoulder and making me feel very uncomfortable so I asked her to be 6' feet away from me. She took a step back, still too close so I moved over while barely being able to transact using my debit card. As the line grew longer, I noticed people were distancing themselves properly while listening to teenage employees and friends talking around the register. It's important to know that they were sharing company info, complaining about work shifts, how another employee came in sick with a cold, and how police were called a few days prior because of crowds wanting paper products right off the truck. This made me feel frightened to be there. I paid $85 (a significant sale considering this horrific experience) and left the store upset. I don't complain about bad service since Its become the retail standard nowadays. However, during this pandemic it is IMPERATIVE TO TAKE IT SERIOUSLY. I hope you read this before shopping there. May you stay healthy and safe.

One of the best looking DGs I've been to. The curb appeal was also pretty. When I went on a Sunday,…read moreit was pretty quiet. I try to go on Saturdays because you can use their $5 coupon. From what I saw, the shelves were pretty organized and clean. I did notice some employees stocking the shelves; hence the pile of items waiting to be unloaded on the aisles. They had a mix and match, buy one get one 50% off aisle that was disorganized. We bought two items and didn't get the second one 50% off. We read the fine print regarding which items were excluded but since the aisle was disorganized, we weren't sure if it was truly part of the sale. I think they should keep all items that were on this particular sale promotion in one spot so it's easy to find; items not part of the sale should be separated. Overall, it is one of my favorite stores and I'm glad that there is one close to me.

"If dirt were dollars We'd all be in the black"…read more(Don Henley) Today I sold 2,000 NY Yankee cards to a guy on Long Island. Yesterday I sold 1,000 Cleveland Indian cards to a guy in Salem, Ohio. I packed them both in a Post Office Flat Rate Box and I was surprised at how GD heavy those boxes were, so I decided to reinforce them both with some strapping tape I wrapped around the boxes in both directions. That greatly depleted what was left on the roll of tape. Which explains why we walked into this brand new Dollar General store in hopes of getting some new strapping tape at a decent price. Silly me ! A roll of that reinforced strapping tape was five and a half bucks.... at a Dollar Store! We saw similar sticker shock while walking through the grocery aisle and saw a normal sized jar of mayonnaise with a $5 price tag on it. The store is brand new, in excellent condition, with the usual array of grocery items, refrigerated and frozen foods, toys, games, household items, health and beauty aids, etc. We passed on the packing tape but did walk out with a few birthday cards and a bar of orange flavored dark chocolate. Watch your pricing carefully here, because the "Dollar Store" label can be misleading.
