Looked around for about 15 minutes. When I was up at register I found out they were not taking card right now, which was confusing because there was no signage, no people working there telling you that the most common way of paying nowadays isn't gonna work. So I had to go put everything back and wasted 30+ minutes of my time going there. Normally I would recommend going here. They have some good stuff for parties or for snacking and lots of meat choices, but their service today was very lack luster, and it definitely put a damper on my plans. Working in retail I would just say do better. I was planning on spending over 50 dollars there just to be turned away because nobody wanted to tell the customers what's going on in the store. A lady behind me also was going to have to leave because of the lack of information given. Some people don't have a lot of time to do things, and now they might not even be able to go buy food at all. Very disappointed.

The staff is helpful and really listens to what you are asking on your way to an amazing sandwich or great cut of meat. I have not really paid attention to see if there is somewhere to sit eat there. My first experience we ate on the hood of our car. I have had several sandwiches, from breakfast(amazing) to several of the hot grinders, and the cold ones. I have never been disappointed. The grinder's are so delicious and awesome. We have shopped for meat here also. Their butchers are knowledgeable and will cut the meat you ask for. Lots of stuff to buy to go with your meal! Go here if your in Connecticut. You definitely will not be sorry. There is online ordering for the sandwiches also!

The last few times I have shopped there I have been disappointed . I go there less and less. Well tonight wanted grinders and they were seemingly convenient stop Got there at 6:30 and waited at Deli for someone to pay note to the fact that they had customers. There appeared to be only two employees working...one with pizza dough and one clanging pans in water that could nto be seen Finally I asked if they were still making grinders and pizza dough man said yes Finally lady came out and gave us a list of what they did not have; unsolicited. We tried three different possiblities and none were to be had.... making strike three we turned to leave. They had like nothing and were not willing to cut anything. On way out I noted all deli stuff was being covered and closed up. Seemed awfully early for what I Thought closing time was. When I got home I looked it up and everywhere I check online says Deli open til 9:00 pm.. Here is proof. I am so done with them...so done. I don't know what has happened to Big Y but it sure is not what it used to be. I bought some tomato vegetable soup from the deli, thinking I would be able to look up the ingredients when I got home. No such luck. NEW OWNERS! I was…read morethrilled when i stumbled upon the news that the Lebanon Green Store was re-opening. When they posted their menu to Facebook there was your typical fare of sandwiches, burgers and hotdogs but also scratch made soups and some other interesting additions. Empanadas, tacos as well as pernil are all on the menu. Pernil, a slow roasted pork shoulder, is a celebration and special occasion staple in Puerto Rico and Puerto Rican homes usually served with arroz con gandules. My wife got the empanadas and I ordered the pernil and arroz con gandules. All was excellent, fresh and a wonderful change of pace to other dining options. The pernil was warmed on the griddle which gave it a fabulous crisp that complimented the rich flavor. On a return lunch trip we called ahead to pick up the order while working from home. Our order was waiting for us which was empanadas, including their bacon cheeseburger special (they also make breakfast variants), chicken salad sandwich with potato salad and their vegan butternut squash 'bisque'. The chicken salad was clearly homemade and the sandwich was a generous size. The sandwich included a side (potato salad, my choice) making it a good value. The butternut squash soup was excellent - very thick and there seemed to be noticeable apple bits that complimented the soup wonderfully. The staff was attentive and, while still getting their processes worked out, they were friendly and clearly committed to beginning good business and community members. The only quirk was that we had to order at the front at the main register and pickup in the back, with the posted menu being in the back. I'm certain this will be something that gets worked out over time. The store offers a lot of local products from Mountain Dairy through Hosmer Mountain soda. We are looking forward to going back to supporting them!
