I didn't have the physical receipt with me, but I did provide the phone number associated with the purchase. My understanding was that, according to the store's policy, I should have at least been able to receive store credit. The employee helping me was very new and was upfront about not knowing how to process the return, which I completely understand. However, there was no manager available in the store. She called the manager, Audrey, and was told there was nothing they could do. I was there for less than 30 minutes, so the whole experience was especially frustrating. I also witnessed another customer being turned away when trying to make a FedEx return because it supposedly "didn't fit on their shelf." That was also disappointing to see. I understand that policies are policies, and employees can only do what they're instructed to do, but overall this experience left a really bad impression. I wish the situation had been handled with a little more customer service and flexibility. Unfortunately, I won't be shopping here again. The woman I spoke with said those 3 purchases would not qualify, only one would qualify. When I arrived to the pastry section I truly felt like I was back in Puerto Vallarta. So many delectable baked goods for under $1 a piece (I must have bought near a dozen as I was hosting friends for an excursion the following day). At this point my kind friend went to the front of the store to get us a cart as she realized this was no "in and out" shopping trip. I really just had the best time walking around to see what I recognized as well as what was new. I may as well have spend the extra five or ten cents for fresher produce AND they give me free plastic bags to take them home in. Yes, I am a green advocate and charging per bag is all good with me... but the fact that their selections seem like they already received them @ a discounted rate and only gave us a few pennies off of the price hardly seems worthy of charging me some more for a plastic bag. The order was delivered to an unknown address. Walmart eventually gave a full refund but refused to redeliver to the correct address. I had to go elsewhere to get my groceries. As of today (05/22/26) Walmart refuses to deliver to me at all. It would seem they have chosen to blame me for their employees inability to read an address. I have canceled my Walmart+ membership and will have to get my groceries elsewhere from now on.
