The grocery part of the store is my "go to" store in Centre. The store is clean and neat. I love the meat section and their selection. The bread is priced a little high. They have a candy selection that is out of this world. The produce is fresh and very affordable. The manager (Dennis) is a nice guy; he reminds me of Dan from Roseanne. If in Centre....forget Walmart...go to Ingles.

But, there is no denying that the atmosphere and customer service at Publix is far and beyond anything that Wal-Mart could ever hope to offer. The staff has been a pleasure to deal with and I have not met an employee who was not willing to help me with anything I needed. Every time I check out, the person who bags the groceries asks if I want them to take my groceries to my vehicle for me although I am completely capable so I always say no as other customers need this assistance much more than me. I have also dealt with the upper management and they have gone out of their way to help with any specific needs which unlike Wal-Mart, makes you feel like a person and not a number. I'm pretty certain Publix wants you to return so they treat you like they would want to be treated. Four stars and that's being completely honest. Minus one because of the prices which is a shame but again, honest.

The store, like most Ingles, is a bit dated and worn. The brand is not known for shiny new and updates stores, so this location is definitely "classic". Since I was traveling, I stayed in the interior aisles and picked up a few snacks and staples that I needed, saved me a trip closer to home. I will say that Ingles is a bit pricey compared to other grocery stores, surprisingly so on majority of the items I scoped, fresh food and all. Check out was okay. The cashier was nice, but not "friendly" or engaging. I get it is a transaction, and it definitely felt just as such. Overall, I get the need and dependence on this location for the local community.
