Sold out of plain green tea, no trail mix already ready to go, no pea snaps. I snuck in right before closing as I arrived in town late from driving in for the weekend and staff were friendly while they did their prep in the final minutes of the store (I think I literally checked out at 8:58 and they close at 9). I found most of the things I needed. Neat location with Telsa Super Chargers and other shops. Plenty of parking.

Senior discount on Wednesdays! Dreary rainy day. Soooo....may as well hit the grocery task. Been in a 'food rut' for a while. Knowing the exact isle/shelf doesn't make for a great deal of 'grocery experimentation'! I haven't been a regular shopper here for an extended time frame, and I wouldn't have made a change if it had not been for my previous grocery stop making a demographic shift in selection and quality. Now I'm wondering why I didn't make the change AGES ago? Would have avoided the afore-mentioned 'food-rut'! Publix: The isles are wide, which allows plenty of room for easing past the label-readers; not quite 'three-wide' - but close. (Think Darlington, not Talladega.) There's a wide selection of food and nonfood items, placed in the usual grocery-grid pattern. Pricing and unit info is well-placed and easy to read. Not only will an employee offer directions to an item, they'll offer to GUIDE you to the item! This is good, 'cause they often mention specials you've overlooked. This comment applies to both the golf-shirted stocker-sorts, AND the dress-shirt employees. About the 'repackaging' mentioned above: If you need three steaks and the package has five; NO PROBLEM! They'll happily repackage the 3 of your choice. Same with veggies! Wow! This store actually offers decent, freshly prepared sushi! I'm NOT a fan of grocery-store sushi (generally, it stinks!). I prepared to hold my breath as I walked by, but then I saw the sales counter: "Oh myyy!" Clean-clean-clean! Spotless, with a pleasant lady behind the counter who knew her stuff!! (Sushi, wasabi, and Kirin on an early autumn afternoon, as I write this review!!!). Why is it that far too many public businesses treat the human function of visiting the restrooms as an afterthought, or worse, an annoyance? Not so at Publix! They're in the front, so mommy, daddy, or granddad, can make a quick nappy-change for the wee-ones on-site, rather than driving home! And...Yes, Mr Grocer, even us old codgers need a spot for an occasional "pit-stop"! I remember when one walked into the grocer's -handed a list over the counter, and waited while a clerk pulled the items from the shelves behind the counter. Potatoes still had dirt on them; bananas were cut from a big stalk hanging from the ceiling. Fruits came and went with the seasons. What changes time has wrought! We live in a wondrous age of grocery goodness, wonderfully exemplified at Publix!

What a wonderful and attractive grocery store!…read more Grocery shopping generally can be a chore if your store is boring. There's nothing boring about Pruett's Signal Mountain Market. It is a great pleasure to walk into this store and find unique items. Their flowers alone are worth coming for, as you will find a plethora of unusual choices, as well as whatever else you need to go along with them. You will have choices such as house plants, herbs, soil, flower pots, vases, small gifts, and other items you didn't know you needed. The meats are unparalleled for freshness, flavor and tenderness. A specialty item here are the Springer Mountain Farms chickens. You can't find them everywhere. They are brought here from the local State of Georgia. These chickens are the most tender chickens I've had in Chattanooga, or for the most part, ever. I would compare the SMF chicken's cleanliness in taste to Jidori chickens, and even though Jidori is a different type of chicken altogether, it's a close second. I used to buy the Springer chickens at Publix, but lately, Publix has had very little SMF chicken in stock. Pruett's whole raw SMF chickens are a tad larger at about 4-5 pounds, while other grocery stores run around only 3 pounds. You can also get the whole chickens rotisserie-baked and ready to go in a section by the specialty items. They sell local ground beef, as well as two additional cuts of ground beef, and all three are delicious and tender. The juicy and loose grind makes for healthy-tasting ground beef meat. Hamburgers and cheeseburgers are delicious! Salmon, as well as shrimp are also good choices. These are my mainstays, but I'll pick up new items whenever they are available. Cheese is one of my favorite foods and Pruett's has all of them, including some hard to find cheeses. They even have ready-made small charcuterie boards not badly priced compared to others. Love that. Fresh sushi, pizza-by-the-slice, or Springer Mountain Farms chicken nuggets can all be had to eat on their outside patio. Inside are brewskis at a newly-designed bar. They even have scheduled tastings. Everything you see here is unique. Why? Because they themselves are uniquely different than all the others. All of the fine people who work here have always been friendly and ask me if I need any help finding things. That is always a plus at any store. Good customer service goes a long way here. What I love the most is Pruett's has everything you need and the store isn't as big as some of these warehouse conglomerates that require so much walking, which is always a pain to me. I love the small town feel and always enjoy my time here. That's a lot to be said as for the tedious chore of grocery shopping. Pruett's takes the raw edge off that feeling! Stop by if you're in the area and need some groceries. If you go on a rainy day, a much appreciated added bonus are the views of the waterfalls as you climb the mountains! Don't miss this one of a kind grocery store!

I asked around Chattanooga and was told I could get fresh MASA for the dough at one of these locations. I called this one and they said they had it. I went back in the store, picked it up and was relieved that they actually had it for me. It was wonderful. I also bought a tamale steamer. I also had a couple tacos there while I was waiting and they were very good. The people were helpful and kind, although a little shy and may be suspicious of me being a white woman in the current world with deportations rampant. The store is absolutely huge. Probably the biggest one of their locations and has everything you could want for Hispanic foods and supplies.
