For men, if you fall under "big and tall," this is a good place to shop. They even have numerous bargain racks, but at least for the men's racks I browsed, a lot of the items were not in the right size sections. This is also a good store for bed and bath selections. Open checkout stations (which they flag as Customer Service) are few and far between. On the lower level, the most prominent one, in the middle of the store, has a big sign directing you to "Bedding." Yes, that station was open, but the sign above it says "Pick-ups and Returns," so it may not be immediately obvious you can check out here. They had an awful lot of things listed as sale prices. This makes me wonder if they're playing that "Look at how much you saved!" game that other similar stores do frequently... prices are marked up, and then there's a "Sale" price which still may or may not be competitive, but it gives the clerk and the register the opportunity to claim you saved many dollars. I limit my shopping at stores that do that.

We like it and Barbi in particular found some steals and gems here when she was here with me a few months ago. I'm sure next time we're in Crossgates she will want to stop in here again and I can't blame her.

However, in time my experiences have changed and I realize that their prices aren't always better than Walmart and the quality of the merchandise is just as bad as from a dollar store. They do have some name-brand products, and if you are in need of a quick, cheap gift and are already at the mall this place might be a good store to check out, but I wouldn't bother making a special trip here.

As for shops, there are quite a few decent stores - Zara, H&M, Victoria Secrets, Primack, REI, very typical mall brands. If you ever need something, outfit for something, hit this mall up. The restaurants are great and the theater is huge. There are some decent clothing stores and fun shops like lush and bath and bodywork's etc. It's a fun place to kill a few hours or a whole day if you wanted! It can be dirty in the bathrooms but I think that it's just that busy all the time it's hard to keep up with.

It's not bad, but it's a little pricey especially considering the Crossgates Mall has a lot of cheaper stuff in sales and discounts, so that's why we didn't end up buying anything.

While the birthday bear was cheap... as long as you didn't purchase lots of clothes or other accessories... it turns out our son wanted a different bear. Perhaps that is part of their plan. Regardless, we were helped by a very friendly staff member who made sure to fluff up the bear to just the level my son wanted. In fact, my son seemed content with just the bear "skin" empty, but that wouldn't do. We didn't buy any accessories during our visit but several looked nice and we might be back. This place isn't cheap, but it was fun for a while. Sadly, they didn't have any Build-a-Basset hounds or I might have left with a new best friend too!
