Great little Italian restaurant! The terrace is beautiful and perfect for a lunch. The restaurant is at the end of 5th ave so a bit of an hidden gem. It's really really busy so prepare to wait to get a seat. The salads are delicious like in Italy. I always take the prosciutto and burrata with fig and cheese and it's amazing. If I could it 0 stars I would This was my first visit to the establishment. My boyfriend heard about the sandwiches so we wanted to try it when we were down in Naples. We walked in on a fairly busy Saturday afternoon. Upon arriving, I noticed what appeared to be a sample basket of bread and olive oil dip. This was located next to the register near the deli counter. Having never been there before, and having visited similar establishments;. I assume this was a sample basket and took a small piece with some olive oil spread. As I walked through the deli, I was rudely approached by a employee who appeared to be either the owner or manager. He asked me where I got the bread and I said I had taken it from the basket that was sitting on the counter near the register. He stated that the basket of bread was for the tables and that I had no business helping myself. I immediately apologize and explained to the person that it appeared to be a sample basket. There was only one on the counter, and there was only a couple pieces in it so I assumed it was a sample basket. I said "I am sorry" , to which he replied "well you should be". I made an honest mistake and apologized for it . This man was extremely rude. My boyfriend and I promptly left after telling him how very rude he was. WE WILL NOT BE BACK ! I think I fell in love with this quaint cafe. Seems family owned, cute porch with seating out front, several guys inside speaking Italian and the most perfect little menu that was made for us to find. Started with a bottle of sparkling water. We got a cute colander with delicious breads to snack on. My salad was everything and more. I picked the half size which was the best choice for me, the super fresh baby arugula, crispy prosciutto, mozzarella, tomatoes, almonds, shaved parm and a lemon dressing. It was so refreshing yet filling at the same time. Holly got the Antipasto platter and we shared this delicious bread with arugula & cheese, needed a touch more salt..but I'm not complaining. I got the beef carpaccio for the app. For entree the organic chicken with fresh motz, roasted red & orange peppers (subsituted glazed balsamic instead of tomato sauce). The bread for FL was delicious. My chick got the the red quinoa salad with diced organic chicken, mixed greens, olives, etc. The fresh motz was so good. Add on: Italian market inside, and they have this dope coconut salt scrub to wash your hands with. Say what you want...this place was quiet, elogant, and with my Italian background 100% authentic. Very cute, authentic Italian place. I ordered a panino with fresh mozzarella, prosciutto di Parma and pesto. It was served on a homemade baguette that was incredible! The baguette exceeded my expectations! The sandwich was pretty big and came with a side salad and chips. Delicious lunch! My only suggestion would be for staff to offer more guidance when one walks in. I didn't know that one could dine-in there until I placed my order at the counter. It was only when the gentleman asked if it was "to go" did I realize I could eat there. This could have been avoided had someone asked me when I walked in if I needed a table. I was supper excited to go to this spot especially after living in Italy my daughter raved about it. We arrived and were greeted friendly placed at a table of our choice. Served fresh bread I ordered the mimosa with fresh OJ, and a frittata ham & Brie my daughter ordered iced cappuccino & the avocado toast. So far so good drinks great friendly server. The food arrives my frittata is fine nothing extraordinary the avocado toast that was over $15 had barely any avocado the main ingredient it was covered with tomatoes and feta but barely any avocado. I politely stopped the Italian lady she looked like she could be the right person. I kindly advised her the avocado toast barely had any avocado and she responded "That's the way we make it! None of my customer complain" instead of just saying oh I'm sorry let's just fix that but the worst part was that she said it so loudly everyone looked at us she embarrassed me and my daughter. I completely lost my appetite and stopped eating and enjoying myself. I am sure she probably regretted the way she responded so loudly that she brought over a stool placed a plate with two slices of avocado and some on balsamic glaze. The damage was done! Seriously an avocado cost $1 the most $1.25 avocado toast was $15 she could've just politely had had it corrected or even brought more avocado, without making such a scene. I think they just may have been off this morning because the table next to us didn't get their order right at all and then she made it scene so it just made them look like they were not in great form this morning. I'm not trying to damage the integrity of this location because their sandwiches I have been told are amazing but their service this morning was not their best!!! When you're beaching in Naples, it's probably best to pack a lunch. That being said, we were not that prepared and needed to grab some food nearby stat. I turned to my trusty Yelp app and found Dolce & Salato to be about a 7 minute walk away. Their sandwiches and salads seemed like a good bet for a takeaway meal. I called in our order and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. The menu is full of Italian delicacies and the place certainly radiates an authentic taste of Italy. Trying to keep healthy and all that jazz, I opted for a the red quinoa salad with diced grilled chicken, mixed greens, olives, tomatoes, basil and mozzarella. It also came with two pieces of their amazing focaccia bread with olive oil and pure balsamic vinegar dressing (not so healthy but very delicious). The salad tasted fresh, flavorful, and was very filling, validating the $17 price tag. My better half ordered one of their grilled chicken sandwiches with goat cheese, avocado, tomato and arugula, which also came with a side salad and bag of chips. It was pretty big and something I would normally share, but he ate it all! This was $16. As you can see, it wasn't the cheapest beach lunch, but we got our money's worth and it definitely beat grabbing a slice of pizza on the pier. If you eat at the restaurant, there is a nice patio which was buzzing with people, as well as some seats inside. I would definitely go back the next time I venture to Naples! He opened it to look inside as he didn't think there was much bacon (couple pieces on top and more cooked inside the eggs). The owner saw him looking at it and came over to ask if everything was ok. Told him if it wasn't what he thought he'd make him something else. No need he loved it, and I love an attentive owner who cares about the customer. I had lunch here with my Mom a few days ago. The food was pretty good and the portions were huge but the service was really slow. As far as experience, It was a little annoying that they took the initiative to put a statement on their menu that they serve small portions to discourage sharing, and ask patrons to 'be respectful and order their own plate' and that sharing charges will apply, only to be served a massive portion that I couldn't even eat half of.
