Portion of receipt showing that my wife declined four unnecessary service procedures that are not recommended by the factory

No dealership is perfect, but we have had multiple bad experiences with service over the years. I like cars, I like the fact that Clancy Dokmo remains involved in the business, and I appreciate his community service. Our new car purchasing experiences here have been positive overall. Therefore it pains me to write about the service department. Last week, my wife brought her car in for a minor repair. The service advisor pressured her to authorize over $500 of unnecessary and wasteful service, including a fuel system cleaning, a coolant flush, a brake flush, and a transmission fluid change. The advisor stated that these were scheduled service items recommended by the factory. Ford does not recommend a "fuel system cleaning" or "brake flush," ever, as part of the scheduled maintenance work for this vehicle, which I have since confirmed by checking the maintenance schedule in the owner's manual. Ford recommends a coolant flush at 100,000 miles and a transmission fluid change at 150,000 miles. The vehicle had approximately 50,000 miles on it at the time of service. The repair we paid for was not completed properly and required another visit. Even the best mechanics make mistakes and I would be willing to overlook this as an isolated incident but for the fact I have had to return on two other recent occasions (in the last few years) because of service mistakes. Once involved a simple tire rotation where the (directional) tires were installed on the wrong side. The other involved front-end work where the vehicle pulled to one side while driving after service was completed. I reluctantly recommend that Ford owners in the Northfield area look to other shops for service.

Useless blank key that costed me 220 dollars to get, and another 60 for programming. 30 bucks online. Avoid these guys.

I called and asked for a new key to be made for a car that I bought there, and I received a blank key for my 220 dollars. The part actually costs 30 dollars online, so I figured 220 was a fair price for programing and cutting. I called back to get this fixed, and now I have to invest another 65 dollars in to it, and wait another day before it gets done. Plainly and simply not worth it in the slightest.

Car was extremely clean when I dropped it off...not when I picked it up :(

I would have put zero stars but it wasn't a selection. I was at CarTime today to get an allignment…read moreand fuel filter changed. Well they said that they could not do the allignment unless a ball joint was replaced. I elected not to do the ball joint because it would cost over $350.00 and I couldn't afford it at this time because of Inflation. But the guy told me it would be $55 to replace the fuel filter well it was $155.00 plus $38.75 miscellanious charge which I would suspect was the price of a new fuel filter, which I happpened to bring along and they installed. Needless to say I will not be going back to them any tine soon! One more thing the only reason I went there was that they have an allignment rack well the last time I went there to get an allignment they said I needed a lower ball joint and two idler arms well I replaced them myself. But what I suspect is they want extra revenue when they do allignments so they come up with a "faulty" part to charge more money.

From my experiences this appears to be a car dealer that doesn't hold their word, isn't good with…read moreaccounting, isn't good with communication, and I will not be coming back or advising anyone to come here. The car I was purchasing had a salvage title due to hail damage, the taillight was still cracked and when brought to attention, it was written down by Ali and stated verbally that the car would be getting a new taillight housing before I purchased it the following week. When I arrived that day they still hadn't gotten the new housing and swore they would be getting it in and let me know when they did. They did not call me so I sent Ali Facebook messages, how we had communicated earlier, which were also were not responded to. I called them 10+ times and spoke to either Ali or another worker or left a message each time over the course of 2 months. Each time they assured me that Willy would call me or they would call me back. They NEVER did until I told them how extremely frustrated I was with them. Nearly every time I called Willy had "just stepped out" and Ali said he would call me when he was back. She said to me that she told Willy each time I called so it does not appear to be a lack of communication between them that stopped Willy from calling me. When I finally got ahold of Willy, after nearly 2 months after purchasing the car, he told me that the car was sold as is and he had the as is no warranty form in front of him and that even though it had been written down previously and agreed upon, they were not going to hold their word or compensate me for the broken tail light. They say that they do not have this piece of paper where Ali wrote down what they were supposed to fix before I purchased the car, and as this was the only hard proof I had other than verbal agreements, they were not going to get one. Willy also used profane language on the phone towards my boyfriend and myself when we finally talked with him. The same day I bought the car it needed coolant and has been leaking to the point where I have to refill it every few days, a fact Willy says he knew nothing about (we asked and they did not let us lift up the car at their shop to look under it). There were also many small issues with the documentation prepared by Ali. She had wrongly overcharged me a few fees and they are now issuing a refund check for those, which I had to bring to their attention months after purchasing the car. They also did not sign the purchase agreement for over two months, until I told them that it was not signed, which meant our contract was void for that time period. I was also pulled over recently and the officer tested the window tint on my car, it read 17%, which is very dark and very illegal in Minnesota. The officer informed me that it is illegal for a car dealer to sell a car with illegally dark tint, so it is also their responsibility to fix that. I would recommend that potential buyers check to see what the tint level is before purchasing a car from Malecha's to ensure that everything is at or below the legal levels. I have complained to the Better Business Bureau and through them Willy and I have reached an agreement where he will be issuing me a refund check, removing the tint, and replacing the cracked taillight. What I have learned from this experience and what in my opinion potential buyers should take away, is that you should get every agreement in writing. No matter if it is a big issue or something tiny like a cracked taillight, if a dealer promises it to you, have them sign a document saying they will actually do it. I would also recommend looking over all documentation on the purchase agreement with the DMV to ensure that you are not overcharged. This review has been edited as to ensure it is not slanderous, only factual and representing my opinions. Because of this, I needed to add additional details to encompass the whole of my experience to make it as accurate as possible. I have tried my best to include information that is the most important to potential buyers so that they know what to look out for when dealing with this dealer, as this was the goal of the first version of my review. This is not a new review being made, simply an edit.
