Never, ever let them touch your car for repair. They are frauds. I made an appointment to get my brakes done on a car I bought from them. They said it would be 2-2.5 hours. It took 6. They said they were waiting for parts. Who does not stock parts for cars they sell and when they schedule the matter in advance? One would assume routine matters and the need for parts was factored into the estimated time. They cost me a whole day. Even when they called me to say I needed new brakes they failed to mention it was going to take more than twice the time they originally said. Why? Because they want your money and know that telling you the truth might cost them. The worst is when I complained. They said I was a "perfectionist" and made a reference to my race as a "black and white person". Spending 65% more time to do a routine matter is not being a perfectionist any more they would be if I offered to pay them 65% less than the charge. While I was in there scheduling an appointment an employee was speaking with a customer about how police are unfairly accused of racism by black people. They are liars, and their employees entertain racist topics with customers. Just look at their reviews. A lot of people had terrible experiences. read more

We had a car that needed warranty work. They were completely unwilling to work with us on getting this fixed. I had a video of the warranty work that needed to be fixed and they couldn't do anything until they inspected the vehicle first. My daughter takes the car to college and is not returning for a month. We called the dealership in Fargo and they had the issue resolved by 10:00 the next morning. Without even having to inspect it. No dealership is perfect, but we have had multiple bad experiences with service over the years. I like cars, I like the fact that Clancy Dokmo remains involved in the business, and I appreciate his community service. Our new car purchasing experiences here have been positive overall. Therefore it pains me to write about the service department. Last week, my wife brought her car in for a minor repair. The service advisor pressured her to authorize over $500 of unnecessary and wasteful service, including a fuel system cleaning, a coolant flush, a brake flush, and a transmission fluid change. The advisor stated that these were scheduled service items recommended by the factory. Ford does not recommend a "fuel system cleaning" or "brake flush," ever, as part of the scheduled maintenance work for this vehicle, which I have since confirmed by checking the maintenance schedule in the owner's manual. Ford recommends a coolant flush at 100,000 miles and a transmission fluid change at 150,000 miles. The vehicle had approximately 50,000 miles on it at the time of service. The repair we paid for was not completed properly and required another visit. Even the best mechanics make mistakes and I would be willing to overlook this as an isolated incident but for the fact I have had to return on two other recent occasions (in the last few years) because of service mistakes. Once involved a simple tire rotation where the (directional) tires were installed on the wrong side. The other involved front-end work where the vehicle pulled to one side while driving after service was completed. I reluctantly recommend that Ford owners in the Northfield area look to other shops for service. read more

*** UPDATE*** read carefully.. Took my truck to another shop in town the extra work with the axel that they said was broke and the torn boot, was not true it did not need the work. So the part that I let them do I am not sure that was needed. I will be reporting this to the BBB. Do NOT to shop work here at all. It's clear their are trying to get over on their customers. This business is under new ownership again. The below review was when my motor blew and took out my turbo and allot of other things. One of those things worked on was my transfer case. Now mind you they took their time it was warranty work so it was not their priority as I come to find out this time around. Well guess what something is wrong with the transfer case again this time it's not covered. Now when the motor went it had to go back in because whoever got to work on it didn't do it right the first time. So here we are 1600 later and they wanted to do additional things I gladly declined and am taking it else where because I can't trust they will do it right. The day I brought it in they said it was going to be hooked up because it was also throwing codes. When I called the guy on phone told me they were talking to ford because they didn't know what was going on. He had no idea what he was talking about they hadn't even looked at it, or hooked it up. Wrong customer. As well as when I called I was put on hold for 14 mins and no one came back to the phone until that time and was oh sorry. No check in nothing. Very frustrating to say the least. Let's address the girl at the service desk with a nasty attitude her name is Nicole, see she took a tone with me about taking a CC for the rental which they never did before in all the years I had been going here. This is where I was really mad today 10/6/20 went in to pay for "service" never greeted as I watched this same girl talking to a male customer who told her no he's not doing it the CC thing and she said okay fine. Now why was he treated differently? Good question. I could tell they wanted me out because the guy who did help me obviously knew who I was grabbed my paperwork and keys but didn't say a word until Nicole in her attitude voice said do you need help? Well I am not standing here for my own good I can tell you that. He still didn't say anything I said nope he obviously has my paperwork but never addressed me or greeted me. Customer service had gotten pretty bad. They are under new ownership yet again been about a year now same guy. Increased prices on service for no good reason because their service guys never get it right the first time. Let's add that Nicole chooses to not wear her mask when customer are there and gets huffy when someone walks in the door and she has to put it on. She was not on the phone just doing computer work no reason she isn't wearing one. It's a mandate. She needs an attitude adjustment. So to say the least I am very disappointed that I have to go to another shop to address my additional issues if they really are an issue we will find out shortly. Don't do service here. Don't buy here. Little advise work on your basic customer service skills the day I came in to bring the Escape a sales guys was out smoking and swearing with his name tag on. Really professional. It needs addressing. This was my review a year ago now sad the tables have turned. Joe in the service department is the most amazing man ever!! He has the best customer service, explains everything in detail the way it needs to be and does not BS. Joe is really what keeps me at Dokmo and doing business with the company. I called and asked for a new key to be made for a car that I bought there, and I received a blank key for my 220 dollars. The part actually costs 30 dollars online, so I figured 220 was a fair price for programing and cutting. I called back to get this fixed, and now I have to invest another 65 dollars in to it, and wait another day before it gets done. Plainly and simply not worth it in the slightest. read more

If I could give them no stars or negative amount of stars I would. I talked to Jacob, the sales manager and Edwin for 2 days and set up an appt to test drive an Aspen they had for sale. I drove 60 miles for my 1 pm appt and when I walked into the dealership they told me the car had been sold minutes before I arrived. They didn't even honor my appt by letting other person know they had someone coming to look at it. OF COURSE, they had other cars I could look at, but I left without even doing any more with them. I will NEVER do business with this dealership again as I was appalled at the way they honor their appts and do business with long distance customers. Leased my 2018 Ford Fusion from here...all good until the "check engine" light came on. Called in and they couldn't even get me in right away since their single licensed Ford technician was in training. Dropped off a few days later...called with the problem, cost of the part needed and the labor...told them to proceed. Picked up car today and there was a $95+ charge for the diagnostic test...would have been nice to know this charge BEFOREHAND and not be shocked when I went to pay! But, this is what really put me over the edge...my car was extremely clean when I dropped it off. While driving home, I remember thinking "my car sure seems dirty" so really took a look at the outside once I got home. My car is filthy! Muddy even in the wheel wells! I did take pictures and emailed the service department but have not heard back yet. I will not be returning my leased vehicle to them (lease is up in early July)...will go elsewhere, for sure! read more

Found a vehicle online on their website. I liked the price of the used minivan I was looking at, so I contacted them via their website and got a response in a reasonable amount of time, which was nice. There were only 5 or 6 pictures of the outside of the van and barely any of the interior. I responded to the email and asked the sales rep if there were more pictures. Their response was, "As for the pictures, sorry but everything we have is already online." I should have taken this as a red flag. We live in a world where everybody who has a phone has a camera. More pictures shouldn't have been a problem. Despite the flaws I saw in the pictures, I decided to travel about 45 minutes to do a scheduled test drive. I arrived and was greeted by the sales rep who wasn't quite finished with the food they had in their mouth. They brought me out to the van and it just looked a little more beat up than the pictures led on. The back hatch was popped open and I could totally see why they hadn't included any pictures. It was the most beat up back end I had seen in a minivan. It was clearly used a work vehicle. The inside plastic panels were gouged and scratched beyond repair, and the backside of the stow and go seats were so torn, I could practically see through the seats. The sales rep told me that their shop cleans all of the vehicles before they're sold, and that it would go through a thorough clean up before it left the lot, but there's no amount of cleaning anybody could do to make that a sellable vehicle. I pretty much wanted to leave right away, but she wanted to show me some other options, so I indulged her. I was then shown another used SUV that was a "smokers special", and it was just gross, sticky and smelly. I honestly can't recommend this dealership in regards to buying a used vehicle. The sales rep was nice enough and offered to have her manager come out to talk with me, but I didn't want to deal with it. I would give Dokmo a 0 star if i could. My husband and i bought a used jeep in march. they sold it to us with bad struts, had exhaust leak in muffler, bad catalytic converters, needed an oil change. To say the least i havent been able to drive it much because of how much its been in the shop, of course the sales man nick meyers was super pushy towards my husband to purchase it that day, and we made the mistake of doing so. Their used cars are junk they clearly dont take the time to look it over before selling it to you. I've never had a worse experience with a car in my life. Service dept review. 1) sent kid in for simple oil change, came out with a $100 bill. 2) had an electrical problem in brand new car...maybe 4 trips in and 10 days to diagnose and fix, 3) refused to look at same problem after warrantee expired unless they charged for it. Look, same problem suggests not fixed right the first time AND combined with the fiasco earlier, should have jumped to make it right. They did take a look for free after I loudly complained to the SALES manager. People, small town dealer acts like twin cities (actually worse) mega dealer. They sell ford's everywhere, maybe go elsewhere. Oh, and sat in waiting area and listened to service customers all complaining that they were back for in proper jobs. Ugh. Dangerous car and uncaring employees. They'll be nice to your face and tell you what you want to hear, then the moment you're in the car, they forget all about you. We bought a used Chrysler 300. We drove it less then a mile before I called and told them something was wrong with the car. They said it's "sold as-is" and hung up on me! We didn't even make it home and the wheel bearing broke on the passenger side and almost put us in the ditch. They put us in a very dangerous situation and I called them again and was told it's too bad because it's sold as-is. We had it towed to a shop and we had to pay out of pocket for a new wheel bearing. I asked them for help and I've just been blown off. I bought the car to get me back and forth to chemotherapy and surgeries for my stage 4 cancer and I explained to them when we bought the car that we needed something reliable. We were on a budget and they acted like they cared. Brandon Dahlin was our salesman so beware when dealing with these people, they will take advantage of the situation and run the moment you need help. We drove off the lot and the car broke... We didn't even make it home with it and we had it in the shop. The mechanic we took it to was shocked that a dealership would sell a car in such a dangerous condition. read more

I am unsatisfied with the service at Dokmo. I brought my Chrysler Town and Country in for warranty work. Intermittently the van would not start unless the vehicle was put into neutral. The service technician indicated that a new ignition module was required. We agreed to replacing it after confirming it was covered by the warranty (service contract) We advised that we only wanted work done that was covered under warranty. We received a called after the new ignition module was installed to inform us that our key fobiks would not program with the new module and that we needed to replace the keys at our expense. $400 total for two new key fobiks. It was my position that we should not be responsible for this charge as we were not given any up-front warning that this could happen. The best compromise the dealership was willing to make was 20% off the cost of keys. A couple weeks after having our van back we are experiencing the exact same issue. Now we are back to square one. It's time to find a service department that offers honesty and quality workmanship. Do yourself a favor and avoid DOKMO, unless you like being billed for the ineptitude of others. read more

I went out of my way to purchase from a Ford dealer so I wouldn't have these issues. As far as I can tell they didn't do any kind of maintenance on the vehicle before selling. Dont buy a vehicle from these people. They sold me a used 2008 Chevrolet Uplander and 2 days later all of a sudden Traction Control, ABS and Stability lights came on, so I tired calling the sales agent but left a message about it and she never called back. I ended up calling a week later at which time they told me it was sold as is and they wouldn't have known this was going to happen. I then later took it to a local shop and they told me this is something that would have shown up on their diagnostic because it has been a problem well before they sold it to me based on the condition it was in. Now the engine spits and sputters at stop lights and the passenger read door sometimes reopens out of the blue, which technically has been happening since day one. I purchased a 2004 Chevy Silverado from them. hey they said they put all their vehicles through their "shop". So after I bought it, I brought it to my mechanic who said there was a hole in the transfer case, and both of the differentials had no fluids in them. The transmission lines need to be replaced. I put $1600 extra for the truck I just bought the day before. And they hid the 5th wheel ball in the bed of the truck with the spare tire (my fault for not checking, but still shady). The check engine light came on half way home and I called right away and they said it was the O2 censor that they just replaced. I don't know what their "shop" does, but I guess at least the oil was clean. They kept using the word "safe". "Everything on the vehicle is SAFE". So if you hear that, it doesn't mean it's in good working order. Good luck. They said as soon as the vehicle (used ones) is off the lot, it's out of their hands. read more
