Report card

We live in LA and were down in San Diego over thanksgiving visiting. Our dog Stella is very social and hyper so we decided to drop her for daycare to expel some energy after being crated for the day. She has been boarded at Dogtopia near our house so we decided to go with the same company Dogtopia down in SD. Her visit was amazing and when we picked her up she was completely exhausted from playing. Mission accomplished. They also gave her this great report card that was super special. Thank you Dogtopia for taking care of our girl.

I bring my pup here for daycare and she LOVES being in the "Toy Box" filled with other small pups. Sometimes the "Toy Box" is mixed with older/low energy (big) calm dogs. When we get home she sleeps and is restful!

I have been bringing my dog here for a little over a year now for baths and I'm done. We took him a couple months ago, when we picked him up everything was fine. We got home and I noticed blood spots on the floor and in his bed. We look at his paws and noticed they clipped it too short and he was bleeding. When I called to ask if they noticed anything, they denied everything. I get accidents happen but nobody was held accountable for what happened. It's always "I'll talk to whoever did it". That brings us to today, I went to pick up my dog and we got home. I went to take his harness off and they put his harness on entirely incorrect. I had to CUT his harness off of him. I didn't notice it when I left because there was a bandana on him like they normally put on after a bath. I feel like as people who take care of dogs for a living, they should know how to put the harness on. I don't understand how they even put it on without forcing it on. I feel as though they put the bandana on to cover up the harness so I wouldn't notice. THEY COULD HAVE TOLD ME WHILE I WAS THERE WHAT HAPPENED. We could've resolved it there instead of them trying to push the problems out the door. I wouldn't have been upset as I am now. Not even the manager takes accountability for her team. How embarrassing. I get that things happen and humans make mistakes but most humans should be able to take accountability for their mistakes.

They gave us a report card on our first day which was a cute touch

This review is for the doggy day care. I have brought my dog here about 4 times now. The first time was for the meet and greet and they allowed me to keep my dog there for the rest of the day. After that, they gave me 3 free daycare days to use within the next week. I felt like that was very generous of them, and the consistency of going really helped my dog to adjust since he was very timid the first time coming. They have 3 rooms available which help them separate the big dogs and small dogs. On times where there aren't too many dogs, they big and small dogs are grouped together. I personally liked this because my dog used to be timid around bigger dogs and now he's used to it! I think bringing him to daycare has increased his overall confidence as a pupper so that is a pro! One reason I docked off a star was because they have a nap time from 12pm-2pm for the all day daycare and I was a little skeptical at first as a worried dog mom to not be able to see my dog on camera. I'm not too sure what they do with them or where they put them but right at 2pm, I check up on the webcams and see my dog running around. It's probably fine, but would still give me ease of mind to see my pupper sleeping. Another con is that it can get pretty crowded sometimes. I see sometimes about 20 dogs, which can be a lot of dogs for one person to oversee. Overall, the staff seems very kind and they get excited when my dogs comes. I feel like I'm leaving him in good hands when I drop him off. The prices are fair, but pretty steep. If you are looking for cheaper daycare, there are some people on Rover who are around $25/30 a day.

Wizard, our Pomeranian puppy, absolutely ADORES dogtopia! When we first got him he was terrified of everything that moved, even inanimate objects, and just hid in a corner. Now he sniffs other dogs and follows around the awesome humans who work there, who he adores! Groomer is great too, we get him the bath package and he always comes back soft and clean. We love the attention and care they give the pups here.

I wish I could give this business more stars. Dogtopia has the best staff. They take great care and treat each fur baby as their own. I had to request that my dog be hand fed to stop resource guarding and they were more than happy to help. They have cameras so you can check in on your pup and they have lots of activities for your pup to join in on. The Christmas photos with Santa was great.

My dog LOVES coming here. We take him once a week, and he's pooped for like 2 days afterward. I love being able to see him on the cameras and know he's safe. He is always super excited to arrive and happy to come home (mostly cause he needs a nap). I recommend it to other puppy moms at work, and honestly have nothing bad to say about it! Its not the cheapest, but its worth every penny.

Looking to see all of the cute pups play and secretly being jealous that I don't work here.

The moment we pull into the lot, he's already excited to go inside -- which tells me everything I need to know. The staff is incredibly caring, attentive, and professional. It's clear they genuinely love dogs and treat every pet like their own. Bleu always comes home happy, well-exercised, and relaxed, which is exactly what you want when trusting someone with your dog. The facility is clean, well-organized, and designed so dogs can play, socialize, and rest comfortably. I also really appreciate the communication and how easy they make the drop-off and pick-up process. If you're in San Diego and looking for a place where your dog will be safe, cared for, and genuinely enjoy their time, I can't recommend Pet Snug Resort enough. Bleu can't wait to go back -- and neither can we.

Walter is our new English Bulldog pupperoni (11 months) who loves to be around other dogs, though still learning Ps and Qs. We wanted to find a new daycare for them and came across this lovely place on yelp. I emailed them to set up a visit and they were very nice and accommodating. Everyone is sweet, you can tell they love our animals and they are professional. We stopped in on a Saturday morning and were able to check out the play area from the window in the lobby (also watched the video on their website) and they let us into the suites area since there were no dogs in there. When Ruth stays for the day, she stays in their suite and probably loves the break from Walter. Walter goes into the playgroup with the other pups. They asked for all the vaccinations and will ask for updated vaccines as well, which we love and feel very comfortable with. We know we stay up to date with everything and we want to be sure our pups are around other pups that have everything updated as well. We love the report cards. Especially since Walter is so young, we like to see how he is doing with the other dogs. I added some of the pics from their recent visit. Just look how happy he is and Ruth loves the big suite and comfy bed. We are very happy with this wonderful daycare.

Bark Busters Home Dog Training San Diego

Bark Busters came to us highly recommended. After some research and reviewing Ted Talk and…read morearticles, I signed up our two rescue mix breed ~20lb boys. We are grateful to James of BB who placed us with Jenna. Our boys issues: high reactivity outside, especially other dogs, and inside, door bell, ring cameras, etc. Coupled with greetings by jumping and owning the house. Jenna set us on a path of activities for inside and was incredibly patient letting me share and ask questions, learning constantly. As we fine-tuned and we all got more comfortable we moved our training to outside. The methodology used is absolutely amazing and, I dare say, short of a miracle. We practice regularly and introduce the boys to different circumstances. All that food luring and positive food reinforcement training certainly has its place but only the techniques of BB with Jenna has helped our boys become trusting, comfortable, and happy. Here I thought I had to scan the horizon constantly to be aware of incoming dogs to prepare myself to hide behind a car or go in the corner behind garbage cans to get maximum distance. Not true. I walk no longer with my head on a lazy susan. We all are forever grateful. Our boys can lead richer more social lives. Thank you!!!

As first-time dog owners, the early support really did help us. Having someone we could call during those overwhelming first months was a relief. Over time, though, I realized I was hoping the training would shift toward more positive reinforcement. The constant, harsher corrections worked at first but eventually didn't seem effective anymore and started affecting my relationship with Mimi. I noticed this during a family trip where Mimi, who is usually fearful of strangers, bonded more easily with my husband and his family. She gravitated toward them when scared, and I realized it might be because they weren't following the correction-heavy approach, while I was. I also asked for help with Mimi's fear and reactivity toward other dogs, but was told they didn't have dogs available for training and that I would need to bring a calm, socialized dog myself. As a non-trainer, that was very hard, but we tried by traveling many hours to introduce her to my husband's family dog. The experience ended up being chaotic since the family didn't fully understand what the process required, and new people and dogs kept appearing even though Mimi wasn't ready. Her reactivity came back in that environment, which made me feel like the training had only put a bandaid on deeper fear issues. Maybe I should have clarified expectations better from the start, but with a high-need dog and being new to all of this, I didn't know what to expect. Since then, we've switched to a positive reinforcement trainer who organizes structured group activities. Mimi is still scared of bigger dogs and can still be reactive, but she's improving slowly and has been able to meet a few smaller dogs. She's also still fearful of people, but she nips a lot less now, so progress is happening. Overall, Bark Busters helped us in the beginning, but long-term we found that a different, more positive approach has been a better fit for Mimi.
