Baby pup

My fur baby has been a family member of Dog Days since May 2024. My daughter was getting married and I had to leave my fur baby for three nights. I was very nervous- - it was his first time overnight. The staff were sweet and reassured me that he will be fine and I could call to check on him. I could see that he trust them very much cause the next time I brought him in, he walk in without hesitation.

They take great photos too

Dog Days is awesome !!! The customer service (for dogs and their parents) is top notch. They take such great care of my dogson Preston. He always has a blast and he's been here for multiple over nights and daycare sessions. He comes home worn out, which is good because he's a husky mix with tons of energy. I can't recommend Dog Days enough.

The service and care at Dog Days is outstanding. I use their boarding and grooming services. They always know everything about your pet and exactly what they need. They pay attention to everything and miss nothing. I love Dog Days, I never worry when they are involved. Thank you guys for all you do. Martha and Zen

Tosca loves loves loves it here! Everyone that works at Dog Days is amazing. Tosca is as excited to see the humans as she is the dogs. She will go say hi to all the humans first. The photos say it all. Most are of her at the daycare and a few are after being picked up from Dog Days. Tosca is a rescue from Ensenada. We started fostering her in April. She was a shop dog and I took her home each night and well, I eventually adopted her because c'mon just look at her ~ she's friggin adorable ~ She was almost a perfect dog ~ she just needed socializing. She loves everyone and is such a happy dog but she used to get over excited when she saw other dogs ~ so walks weren't a lot of fun. After only a short time of hanging at Dog Days, everything shifted. And now she's truly a perfect dog. The coolest dog I've ever had. Oh, and she loves the Pack Hikes. She falls to sleep on those nights with a huge smile on her face. So adorable I haven't boarded her yet, but will happily board Tosca if I should need to. I can't say enough good things about Dog Days. I highly recommend them!

Our dog loves Dog Days! He has been going for daycare consistently for 6+ months now and he is typically exhausted afterwards. Dog Days offers full and half day daycare options along with overnight boarding. They also offer pack hikes and grooming options to add on as well. While they have daily rates, they also have monthly packages and even an unlimited option. We typically purchase a package that expires within 31 days after first use. For boarding, the package expires within 365 days. Our dog has done great at daycare and boarding. We like the fact that for boarding, the dogs can sleep either in the open or in a kennel. Our dog would play nonstop if he could, so we appreciate when the staff helps him take a nap when he needs it! The staff is very friendly and they really care for the dogs. On occasion, we'll add on a bath and they make sure that he is bathed close to pick up time. Tips: -Purchase a package to save money. -Reservations can be made online; however, they are not confirmed until they accept it (you will get an email confirmation). It typically does not take long for the reservation to be confirmed. -If you need to cancel a reservation, be sure to do so 24 hours in advance, or you will be charged a fee. -Currently there is only one customer allowed in the lobby at a time. Wait is never long though as it's pretty fast to drop off and pick up your dog. -Follow Dog Days on Instagram and Facebook to see photos of the pups from the day!

This place makes me so sad... because I don't live in San Diego and my little Psyche does not get to visit often. I had planned a weekend in San Diego with my partner and on the day we were leaving, we realized that we had to bring our dog too. So we all had a beautiful weekend but on Sunday, we were visiting the zoo, and obviously she couldn't come with us. I found this place on Google and gave them a call. Filled some forms and 2 days later, I left my little girl there. It was my first time leaving her in any day care. I've only left her at the groomers before and even that only happens rarely. But I felt beyond comfortable. Taylor was there to receive us, and she's super sweet. A few hours later I got a report card which I will probably end up framing and 8 hours later, I picked up a very very happy puppy who went straight to sleep, passing out from all the fun she clearly had. Cannot wait to come back!!

Our dog, Sadie loves spending time at Dog Days SD! She is wagging her tail once we pull into the parking lot, eager to go inside. The staff is wonderful, and we know that she is safe and well cared for when she's there!

We can't say enough good things. They know our dog by name even though he is not a frequent visitor for overnight boarding. The notes we receive about his stays are always so fun to read and they really pay attention to every detail. We also love the insta posts with all the dogs and getting to see pictures of him having fun. We won't trust anyone else with our dog.

Love dog days! My puppy was 4 months old when a trainer recommended I send him here a couple days a week to allow him to socialize with other dogs in a safe environment. I was really nervous at first but the staff put me completely at ease! They do an initial temperament test to make sure the pups will do well in the environment. They send you a detailed report on the first day (including info about the friends your pup makes:) !). The workers are always so kind and clearly care about the dogs and pay attention to each one. I truly don't know how they do it with so many dogs! They also offer an extensive list of add ons - training sessions, treat times, pack walks, etc., while your dog is there. I hadn't planned on boarding my puppy but he loves DD so much I brought him here the first time I went away for the weekend and he did great! Every time I called to check in they did not make me feel like an inconvenience and gave me a detailed update! I can't express how grateful I am to have found DD as an anxious first time pet parent!

We're not consistent users of Dog Days, but although it's been a year since we last used them for daycare and boarding, the staff there remember our male shiba (Seb) and are clearly fond of him. They upload cute photos and videos on Instagram stories, as well as high quality photos of the pups on Facebook everyday so us humans could stay connected while away. Most recently, Seb needed medications administered and they were able to do that without an issue. We've also done the pack walk add-on which he seemed to enjoy going out to the trails for a change of pace during his boarding stay. One last comment is they do a REALLY good job with grooming nails. I don't know who is performing their grooming services, but his nails are perfectly dremeled every time he comes home from a full bath there. He has never tolerated the dremel with anyone else, professional groomers or otherwise!

Awesome facility and staff. My doggie flies out the car when we get there. He is so happy!!!! The place is clean and the staff is super friendly. I highly recommend Doggie Days for any pet parent.

I love dog days and my pup Tots does too!!! She's a nervous girl with new places but she does fantastic with the employees here. They are not over bearing and know how to interact with the nervous dogs. She's done daycare and boarding- One of the days she was boarded, and employee dropped her bowl of food and they immediately called me to apologize and offer her their food instead. Of course I was fine with that but I appreciated the immediate effort to make it right even though accidents happen. Highly recommend!

Six years later, and we still take Ginger here. They give her so much love, we are truly dedicated to Dog Days. We recently had to board her for three weeks and they provided very detailed updates and pictures. Worth every penny! They post pictures and video on their social media daily so I love it when I see my baby pop up on there from time to time. Also, they're always friendly and so welcoming!

Ask the Community - Dog Days

Do you offer dog walking services? I live in PB and need someone to come twice a week in the afternoon to walk my dog while I'm at work.

Our services are add-ons to daycare or overnight boarding, so we won't be able to visit your pup for walks! We recommend checking out other local companies who specialize in that like Doggie Joggie.

Do you host dog birthday parties?

No, we do not provide that service, although it sounds super fun!

How long are the dogs outside for? I use to take my dogs to an indoor daycare facility and they got tired of the confinement.

Daycare is 100% outside! From 6:30am-7:30pm. Some dogs do get placed into the indoor/outdoor rooms where they can move freely in and out. And some dogs also have scheduled "naps" in our indoor kennels.

For the half-day boarding, as a new customer what is required of me? Would I have to stay there while my dog completes the behavior tests, how long is that? Are there discounts for half-day boarding if i purchase a grooming service for the same day?

All new customers are required to schedule and complete the Free First Day. We ask that you stay on the premises (please wait outside or in your car, covid precations!) during the initial introduction and once they are successfully introduced, we… Read more

My dog is a service dog in training. Is there a way not to have him in a play group or handled during a short day care stay?

It sounds like you are more interested in isolation or traditional kennel care. That's something that Dog Days does not offer at this time. While we do utilize kennels for isolation rest periods, individual feeding areas, time-outs, etc, our… Read more

Does your dog have to be "fixed" (i.e neutered) to be able to be boarded here? Our mini-dachshund still has his parts in tact. 😁

Hi Kelly! As our website states, we accept intact male dogs up to 12 months of age and intact female dogs as long as they are not in heat. Behavioral requirements must also be satisfied. Hope that helps!

For daycare, what is the earliest time in the morning you can drop off your dog?

Hi Megan! On weekdays our lobby opens from 7am to 7pm and on weekends from 8:30am to 5:30pm. You can make reservations to drop off for daycare at any time during our lobby operation hours, but for your Free First Day, we only make reservations… Read more

Walter is our new English Bulldog pupperoni (11 months) who loves to be around other dogs, though still learning Ps and Qs. We wanted to find a new daycare for them and came across this lovely place on yelp. I emailed them to set up a visit and they were very nice and accommodating. Everyone is sweet, you can tell they love our animals and they are professional. We stopped in on a Saturday morning and were able to check out the play area from the window in the lobby (also watched the video on their website) and they let us into the suites area since there were no dogs in there. When Ruth stays for the day, she stays in their suite and probably loves the break from Walter. Walter goes into the playgroup with the other pups. They asked for all the vaccinations and will ask for updated vaccines as well, which we love and feel very comfortable with. We know we stay up to date with everything and we want to be sure our pups are around other pups that have everything updated as well. We love the report cards. Especially since Walter is so young, we like to see how he is doing with the other dogs. I added some of the pics from their recent visit. Just look how happy he is and Ruth loves the big suite and comfy bed. We are very happy with this wonderful daycare.

The standard "suites" are kennels with plastic doors and are not soundproof, so dogs constantly hear other dogs barking or panicking unless you pay extra for an upgraded "suite" (similar to setups at the San Diego Humane Society). Webcams are only available in the play areas unless you pay for that upgrade, so there is no way to monitor your dog while they're in regular boarding. Playgroups are divided into "large" and "smaller" dogs, with "smaller" defined as up to 45 lbs -- something that is not clearly communicated or written on the website. I saw a golden retriever in the small dog group a one point, which raises serious concerns about how size and safety are handled. The facility is understaffed. At times, I saw one employee responsible for both kennel areas. There were piles of urine and feces left in play areas, dogs running through them, and periods where dogs were not actively supervised. The large and small dog areas face each other with only the fence to divide them, which creates unnecessary reactivity. Most concerning, my dog came home with dried urine and feces stuck to his belly and paws. When I brought it up, I was told "that happens sometimes." It took me an hour to fully bathe and brush him out due to matting from laying in urine. The kind staff unfortunately does not make up for the lack of cleanliness, supervision, and transparency issues. For a business of this size and reported revenue, these conditions for the dogs and employees are unacceptable. Update: After I posted this review, the manager, Jasmine, contacted me and claimed my dog's condition was due to "aggressive behavior." However, he was only there for two days, and no aggression was ever communicated to me or documented in his report cards. When I questioned the lack of documentation, Jasmine simply said, "Sorry about that." If his behavior had truly impacted his care, I would have expected immediate notification and written documentation -- not an explanation offered only after I raised concerns about him running into doors, stumbling, and having urine and poop all over him.

Having heard that they booked up fast for the holidays, we took our dog in early July to have a temperament test which he passed. That same day we paid the deposit to hold our spot at Christmas. I called in November because I had a feeling in my gut something was wrong. Thank goodness I did because when I did call, they told me that they did not have our dog listed to be boarded Christmas week, despite the fact we had already paid a deposit. Fortunately, the worker I spoke to was able to add him to the list. We decided to bring him in again in order for him to get used to camp again before we left for a week. My fiancé dropped him off early, and I began watching the cameras to see him interact with the other dogs. He is a corgi, so he immediately was running around and attempting to herd the other dogs (the zoomies if you will.) Fifteen minutes after my fiancé returned from dropping him off (mind you we were both watching the cameras & seeing him interact with the other dogs) we got a call. They informed us we needed to immediately come and pick up our dog because he was having "anxiety" and "being bullied by the other dogs." They also informed us he was having issues with his recall. (Again we were watching, and while I don't discredit how they felt, it was clear from watching our dog he was merely playing chase.) At that time they informed us that he would not be able to be boarded unless we could come and drop him off for two additional temperament test. Mind you this is three days before we are leaving the country. They also said if our pet sitter who was watching him dropped him off and he did not pass the temperament test on the day she dropped him off, we would need to pick him up. Obviously this was not an option for us as we are literally leaving the country. To say we are disappointed and frustrated is an understatement. Thank goodness, we were able to find a friend to watch our dog for us. It felt as though they truly just wanted to get our money and did not give our dog an opportunity to calm down and get in the groove of being at camp as he was there for less than an hour. It also felt as though they refused our dog because they didn't have enough workers. While I appreciate they gave us a full refund we will not be returning nor can we recommend this location.
