Take-out places throughout downtown are dominated by chain restaurants; few if any meeting that criteria. I am so happy that I found this place. Walking around, I tended to be cautious and skeptical of food cart offerings and as this place is the in the middle of the pedestrian mall I passed it several times before stopping. It is fixed kiosk with all the amenities of a small restaurant. The food is extremely fresh and tasty, the service is very friendly and you can get an awesome meal for less than $5 bucks! I now go there frequently. My staples are the Chicken Caesar Wrap and the Turkey Spinach Wrap. I have also had the Mediterranean Pita and the Apple Walnut Salad. All have exceeded expectations. The kiosk also offers a rotating soup of the day (if you're lucky to hit a Jambalaya day; it's the best), Caesar Salad and a few other things that I can't remember just now. All of these items are $4 or less (soup is only $2) and they usually throw in a small cookie. All around, for take-out lunch this is a near perfect option. While I usually have to run back to the office, there are patio chairs right there in the middle of the mall and it's a sunny spot even in the colder months. Finally, the kiosk supports the main restaurant in Englewood which is a non-profit where anyone can eat regardless of ability to pay. (Pay what you can, or if you can't pay, volunteer for an hour or two.) I have not been to the restaurant, but it's great knowing that my lunch supports such a great cause, as well.

They also gave me both a red salsa and a green salsa. Both were flavorful with a nice kick, and I appreciated that. The biggest disappointment was that the burrito was mostly rice and beans with only a small amount of carne asada. To me, a true San Diego style carne asada burrito is all about the meat, with diced carne asada, onions, cilantro, pico de gallo, and guacamole. This stand doesn't have avocado or guacamole, so it just doesn't have that classic flavor. One other thing I noticed was the way the burrito was wrapped. It was more square than the long, tightly rolled burritos you usually see. Not a big deal, just something that stood out. I'd probably give them another try, but if you're looking for an authentic San Diego style carne asada burrito, this isn't it.

Many Coloradoans opt for restaurants and local favorites but honestly those don't compare to many places like SoCal. This truck has all of these favorite brick and motars beat. The steak was well seasoned and tender while beans, rice, cilantro and salsa round out the burrito. Flavors meshed really well to create the perfect meal.
