In the mood for delicious street tacos? This is what you've been looking for. I had been here once…read moreand the food was really good. I don't remember what I ordered though so at the time it just wasn't very stand out-ish. I recently went back with some friends because I told them I was in the mood for tacos. I tried a few different ones, the Carnitas, the Barbacoa, and the Lengua. I was full with three, but it was so good. I ordered a fourth and my husband who normally gets my leftovers - didn't get any leftovers from me this time! He got a couple different tacos from what I had largely. We ordered about the same, but he got the shrimp which he said was delicious as well. I also tried the signature, Bellanova margarita - I must say that was a little unexpected, not your traditional margarita it was very sweet, so probably not something I'd order again since I prefer stronger tasting drinks, but the coconut flavor in it was delicious if you like coconut. The service was excellent! When we arrived, the interior was super packed and super loud so I was very relieved when we got to sit on the back patio, which turned out great because even though there was a little noise there, we were able to hear each other much better. The server was excellent. She kept checking on us. She answered all our questions and was very kind and accommodating. I've been thinking about the tacos since then, it's been about a week, I can't wait to go back.

I really enjoyed my recent visit to Cencalli. I ordered the Pork Pork al Pastor Taco and carnitas…read moretaco and it was very authentic. The corn tacos were very fresh and table service was great. They have a great selection of drinks, alcoholic and regular, and our server was fast but didn't rush us at all. The only confusing thing about our visit was that we had to wait in the back of the restaurant for our table, fine no issues with that. Except that they told me someone would be "right there" to get a drink order for when we were waiting for our table. Sure, well after 10 minutes no one had come by where we were sitting to get our order. We even tried to nicely flag down a server, but no one listened. So I went up to the bar myself and was sharply told, "no, you'll have to wait for someone to come by. We can't have anyone up here." Okay??? A server did soon after stop by, however I found that process not smooth at all. Overall, though, a good restaurant and I would even love to stop by there for brunch sometime.

If you ask me where to find a happy hour that actually feels like a happy hour, I have an answer…read moreready immediately: Cochino Taco in Englewood. I think we're all a little tired of places calling something a happy hour and then charging almost full price. Not here. The happy hour deals are legitimately good, which is one of the reasons I keep coming back. The crunchy tacos are one of my favorite things on the menu and getting two for $5 feels almost unheard of these days. Pair that with a margarita and you're set. The Doritos nachos are another favorite. I know how that sounds, but trust me. Order them. The chips and queso, pastor tacos, and asada tacos are all solid too. And if they have the coconut frozen margarita, get it. Add pineapple and suddenly you're mentally on vacation. I've been here for happy hour, brunch, and dinner, and I've always left happy. That's about the best compliment I can give a place.

They have an AWESOME happy hour menu from 11-6 every day and drinks are decently priced, which is the best thing they got going for them, IMO. I sat at the bar and got the soft chicken tacos. I'm a huge fan of Mexican food and these were mid at best and closer to something from Taco Bell than something you'd get from a taco truck. The bartenders and servers weren't necessarily attentive or engaging, even though there were only three of us sitting at the bar. From what I saw, the drinks being made for the guests in the dining room at least looked decent. If the bartenders were a bit more attentive, next time I would've just came in for some drinks, but my experience sitting at the bar kind of killed that desire for me.

Ok, here is a textbook example of a non-descript hole in the wall that turns out truly authentic…read moreand first class Mexican/Honduran food. You could drive past this place one hundred times and never even see it. Heck, you might not even think it's an open and functioning business. It simply doesn't draw your eye. But, stop in and learn about handmade food that is exceptional. It was just one woman working inside and my order took 20 minutes for her to make. Why? She was hand making every single item. I could hear her back there pounding the bread and doing it all manually. The product she turned out was some of the best Mexican/Honduran food I've had lately. The cheese enchiladas and the cheese pupusas were simply mouth watering and I will be ordering them again. The woman who made all this was friendly and very helpful. She seemed genuinely happy I was ordering food from her place. She might be the owner from the level of care she put into my order. The building itself is nothing to speak of. It looks like a run down old house now zoned commercially. It sits under a dilapidated highway advertisement sign. It simply doesn't look like much but a treasure trove of food is happening inside. Give this place a chance, you won't be disappointed. They do have a few tables inside to eat at as well as a few tables outside. It's not in the best area of town but these kind of truly authentic places after aren't. I'm still smiling from the food. Don't forget to try the actual watermelon juice, it was also "off the hook" good.

Wow what a wonderful lunch date. Hubby and I stopped in after a baseball tournament this weekend…read more We left full and happy from the food and drinks. Nicole was our server and she was so sweet. She made excellent drinks...even making simple syrup by hand rather than using a premade mix. The chips and salsa to start were very yummy. A super fresh tasting salsa with fresh made chips. My husband got the steak fajitas that came with fresh hand made tortillas. He declared them the best tortilla he's ever had in his life. The steak in the fajitas had an incredible char on it which really adds to the flavor. I got a cheese enchilada and a bean taco. I also ordered avocado and was surprised to see that I got nearly a whole half avocado freshly sliced instead of guacamole. Something about fresh sliced avocado just hits different. The sauce on the enchilada was a bit spicy (I'm kind of a sissy) but it was packed with the most amazing fresh made flavor I've ever tasted in an enchilada. This wasn't a jarred sauce. We sat outside on a lovely coveted patio which made the whole experience so much better. Nicole told us about some of the events coming up and we were so happy to have discovered this place. They have a vast drink menu, I definitely had trouble choosing just one drink. I encourage you to run, not walk to Chulas for lunch and experience some of the best most fresh tasting Mexican food you will ever taste.

My Cherry Chula Margarita was great. It was more sour than sweet (how I like it) and reminded me of a Sour Patch Kid. Chula touts fresh tortillas on their building, so after visiting my hometown in NM, I had to try them. They are pricey ($1.25 each) but definitely homemade. The flour tortillas came out piping hot. They had the right consistency. Close to what I am used to, but difficult to accomplish in our Mile-High elevation. They have a lot of BOGO specials and bottomless mimosas on Sundays. I will definitely return to try more of their food.
