Serita is open again! As usual, it was just her and I, so no other folks to worry about in the waiting room. Both of us wore masks the whole time and there's hand sanitizer at the elevator door. I felt very safe and comfortable the whole time. And of course the massage was excellent as always!! read more

Serita is amazing, she is able to apply targetted pressure to work on the muscles and mine needed it, especially in the neck and shoulder area. I felt completely relaxed during the massage and almost floating. She took her time on the problem areas and really made sure she worked out the kinks and knots, along with giving me an all body massage for full relaxation and tension relief. She is very knowledgeable and asked if I have any injuries beforehand to get to know me and my body. Her office is super cute, no thrills and despite having windows face 3rd street not really noisy. She has music playing and lets you select what you want, and has a parking spot for her clients. read more

Serita is an excellent masseuse. She did a very comprehensive and painful (but good pain) massage on my legs/lower back that really helped with some of the lower back/hip pain I've been experiencing. I'll definitely be back. It's not cheap, so I can't be a regular here ;) read more

I just had a 90 min massage with Serita and it was absolutely amazing. The studio is super cozy and clean and the massage bed was heated to perfect temperature. Serita is very friendly and professional. She addressed all my problems areas before the massage and periodically checked on me to make sure the pressure was just right. She takes her time and really gets those stubborn aching areas working out all the tension and knots. I'm so glad I found her. This was one of the best massages I've ever had. It was worth the wait and I look forward to going back very soon. read more

Serita is amazing. Oh damn! Four other people wrote the same thing. And that's because it's true. No, seriously, she just gets in there and finds my issues and works them out gently. And sometimes with a wee bit of force when my tense muscles just refuse to let go. And I can't thank her enough when I finally roll off the table completely relaxed. The woman's got skills. Don't even hesitate. Especially if you live in the Dogpatch. Then you really have no excuse. Massage is therapeutic. Do yourself a solid and get one from Serita. read more

Serita is the most incredible massage therapist I have ever encountered. She really pays attention to what I say and what my body is telling her. And she is incredibly strong. I highly recommend her for a wide variety of people. read more

Serita is absolutely amazing at what she does! And also so friendly! One of the best massages I've ever had!

Serita is such an amazing massage therapist! I am grateful that I found her. She is brilliant and helps me so much! I highly recommend her!

Serita is the most knowledgeable, intuitive, empathetic, sympathetic, lovely, personable, gifted, intelligent body worker I've ever encountered. I think I cried the first time she massaged me, because she found a knot that had plagued my right shoulder for probably 6 years that no other masseuse was able to get at! That pain is still finally gone over a year later! I've referred her to so many people and they all say the same thing -- Serita is the best massage they've ever had. And these are experience recipients with chronic problems. You walk in and she'll already know exactly what's wrong, what muscles are connected, and will make things on one side of the body tingle on a seemingly disconnected side! Don't forget to ask for foot work. She's extremely gifted here as well, with her own style. I can't recommend Serita enough! I feel like she's practically family at this point!! read more

Serita is the BEST! She knows exactly how to work on the tough spots on my body and applies a lot of targeted pressure (because I like it that way), so I always feel completely unwound and relaxed when she's finished. She's also very knowledgable so she provides great advice on stretches and other therapies that can help. And, she's extremely generous with her time (no counting the minutes with her) and has a really sweet, kind soul. I can't recommend her enough. read more

I recently moved to the area and really needed a massage. I called and never got a response. If you are busy or booked, let people know.

Serita - you're awesome! I went with so much pain in my shoulder and I left laughing! And because you are too good to be true I already scheduled an appointment for the next week to confirm that I'm not dreaming! Keep doing what you do! You made my day:) Thank you! -G read more

So far I got 2 massages from Serita and felt amazing after. My lower back pain was really bad prior to getting a massage and Serita really helped. She is very patient and takes her time with my problem areas (I have many). I will definitely be back!!! Glad I found a great massage place in Dogpatch. read more

I was thrilled to discover that there was a fantastic Wellness and Massage business just a quick walk from my home! Serita is extremely knowledgeable and made astute observations, and understood subtle injuries sustained after years of developing high pain tolerance as an athlete. Good reminders on the importance of ergonomics as well, especially when working from home. And simply making time for rest & frequent breaks, and taking care of yourself. A gem in her craft! read more

I have had hundreds of massages all over the world. I have chronic pain in my neck and shoulder from an injury when a drunk driver rear ended my car over 10 years ago. I see a chiropractor and am always in search of relief from the pain. Last night at about 8:00 pm, I yelp'd massage therapists in Potrero Hill area because I was having some major pain. I called several of the highly recommended ones but Jennifer is the only one who called me back almost immediately. She was able to make an appointment with me for this morning at 9:30. It is now about 12 hours after my massage with her and it is the first time in months that I am completely pain free. When people who review her call what she does Body Work they are exactly right. This was more than a massage, it was Body Work. During the massage she was able to feel exactly where my pain was. It hurt like hell while she worked those areas but afterward...only pain free bliss. Usually when I've had deep muscle work done I am really sore from the massage itself - although it does relieve some of my pain. Today, no residual pain from the body work. Amazing. This must sound like I am advocating a new religion. Well I almost feel that way. Jennifer may not know it but she has become one of my monthly expenses! Ha! All I can say is THANK YOU Jennifer. You're amazing. Really. read more

Serita is 10 stars! My 15 yr old athletic daughter said so. Serita gave her a 60 min. message and she said she felt like a new person. Serita has excellent people skills and spent considerable time talking to her to understand her. Serita has a new client and we highly recommend her. read more

Jennifer is the best masseuse I've ever been to. And I've been to many. I used to be a regular at Psoas Massage in SoMa where they have great masseuses, highly recommend that place too. But Jennifer is a notch above any of the masseuses I've ever worked with. I'm a dancer and need regular body work to be able to maintain a high level of athleticism in my dance, and she has become a regular part of my routine in maintaining my body. I highly highly recommend her to anyone who is having any sort of discomfort in their body. She is incredibly astute and sensitive to people's bodies, and though you may feel jelly-like and/or bruised after a session, it will tremendously help your body. I've booked her every other week for the rest of my life! :) read more

Hands down the best body work I have ever had. Both for serious muscular issues and stress reduction... I'm a chef and work on my feet 10 plus hours a day. I started seeing her when my legs started to go numb. seriously.. After a couple of sessions I was back in good shape. She opened up the blood flow to my legs and back, which in turn helped the rest of my body to function more efficiently. I go twice a month to be proactive. When I tweak a muscle I put in an emergency call and usually she can fit me in. What makes her better then most I've tried is her firm nimble powerful hands and vast knowledge of anatomy. As health is worth every penny, you can be assured that Jennifer is worth what she charges and much much more! read more

My office/warehouse is in the American Industrial Center right down the hall from Jennifer's treatment room. Lucky? I think so! Naturally, I made an appointment out of the sheer convenience of her location to me, but I am greatly impressed when nearly a week after my initial treatment my neck still feels loose and limber. I haven't felt that way about my neck and shoulders in years. I gained improvement in both my emotional and physical well-being after just one appointment with Jennifer. I will be seeing her regularly from now on - she is just that good. Jennifer has been practicing massage therapy for something like 15 years, so she definitely has experience on her side. Highly, highly recommend. Tip: If you see Jennifer during the week, you will want to allow yourself a bit of extra time for parking. Parking in the Dog Patch area is not too difficult, but you probably will have to find a space a few blocks away. If you are seeing her on the weekend, you will not have any problem parking within 1 block. The KT Light Rail also stops right in front of the AIC building. Another tip: I found her to be a very quick responder when I emailed for appointments. For my first appointment she was able to schedule a next-day appt for me, which is very convenient if you're suffering! read more

Jennifer is a wonderful body worker with an extensive resume and experience in this field. She has great hands, knows and uses a lot of different techniques, and is able to pin point where the issue is coming from. Her work is most assuredly deep tissue and she is great at treating sports injuries, muscular issues, stress reduction, and tension. With my avid habit of Kung Fu (training for a black belt) she has been able to keep me up and going. Thank you Jennifer! If you are looking for a body worker or in need of a new one; I would contact Jennifer and see her right away. read more

I noticed that all these reviews are for Jennifer, who I'm sure is excellent. However, given that Jennifer was fully booked, I took a chance on Serita and it paid off. I have many shoulder and upper back knots from a desk job and asked her to focus on breaking those up effectively, but without leaving me in agony. Not only did Serita have a great, bubbly demeanor, but also a strong intuition for how much pressure was correct; I only had to ask her to make one adjustment, which she immediately implemented. It was also clear that she had good knowledge of anatomy. All in all, the massage was relaxing, yet I still felt as though I was being "worked" on. I left a very satisfied customer! read more

I adore Serita. I've been receiving massages from her for over a year and followed her to this location when you moved. This location can be a little tricky finding parking so it's best to leave 15 minutes early for your appointment. Once you arrive at the room, it's worth the trek. The rooms are cozy and clean, and the natural lighting creates a relaxing ambiance. Serita is a compassionate soul with an intuitive, healing touch. I always feel safe and comfortable with her. I have a back injury that can be very uncomfortable at times, but after sessions with Serita, I feel reset, walking strong, and tensioned released. I would highly recommend her to anyone, with out without preexisting injuries. She is an earth angel. read more

I crossfit pretty regularly so my muscles need a lot of attention. I've tried out MANY masseuses over the years and this is the only place that knows how to properly massage an athlete! I first started getting massages from Jennifer. She is awesome. She then brought on Serita who is equally as awesome and can take appointments that are more convenient for my busy schedule. Both Jennifer and Serita are strong and know how to find trouble spots and work them out. They know how to apply the right amount of pressure and are the only masseuses I've ever met that have been able to do so. They have actually occasionally applied a little too much pressure (which is a good thing!). And they are very receptive to your feedback on that front. I've been searching for a good masseuse for YEARS. All the others have been too weak and just put their hands on you and move them around. They wouldn't be able to spot a knot if you tied it in their hair. And now I feel fortunate to have found TWO masseuses who are just amazing. I first came to Jennifer about 18 months ago. Serita about 6 months ago. I go at least once per month and it has been a very important part of me taking care of my body. Especially if you are an athlete, this is DEFINITELY the place you want to go. read more

Everyone below has already said what I would write. I've had hundreds of massages and most of them have been "relaxation." If you want that, you can find it almost anywhere - because it's about atmosphere and the sigh that you feel when you wake up from the nap you just took. A nap that you paid $100 for... I saw her once, thanks to a friend who bought me a massage as a gift, but went back to her when I was experiencing tension headaches. Tension headaches for four days straight - to the point that I was blurry-eyed and crying in front of my computer while attempting to work. She alleviated that pain. Jennifer doesn't put you to sleep. She works your body. She feels the pain (in a way that blows my mind), exercises an exceptional knowledge of anatomy and throughout the experience you're literally feeling pain and discomfort leave your body. Not to mention, she REMEMBERS you - your injuries, your sports, your pressure preference. Unbelievable. And unlike most massages, I wasn't sore the next day (if I followed her instructions of stretching and drinking a ton of water). Instead, I had gained a longer reach in my stretches and lightness in my body. It wasn't just the day after either... it stuck for about a week until I carried a heavy pack (my fault). I'll need another one soon because I travel frequently and planes do terrible things to your body. Luckily, she's right around the corner from where I work, so I'll be joining the members program to take advantage of her superb techniques. read more

Since we moved to SF two years ago I see Jennifer on a regular basis - once a month. I am an active tennis player and keep up that maintenance massage just to relax those muscles. During times of injuries I came every other week and Jennifer supported physical therapy with massage and ultra sound treatments. I felt instant improvement - amazing! By now, my husband sees her also on a regular basis, and my daughter always visits her when she is in town. We are very grateful to have her keeping us healthy. read more

My wife got a massage for her birthday. It was good affordable and very convenient if you live in the Dogpatch or surrounding neighborhoods.

Best. Massage. Ever. Truly, this was the best massage I have ever had. Serita is fabulous, really listened to the issues I was dealing with, and more than any other massage therapist I have ever visited, spent the entire massage directly addressing those issues to make sure I left feeling infinitely better than when I came in. The location is great, her studio is light and airy and very soothing. DEFINITELY go visit her! read more

Best massage ever! I was having major shoulder problems and Serita really focused on the problem area and made me feel so much better. I highly recommend her! read more

As an athlete, I'm constantly breaking down and rebuilding muscles. Something is sore, always. Jennifer has enabled me to remain injury free and pain free. Every time I see her I learn new stretches and methods to stay loose and limber. We talk about the source of the pain and find solutions. Priceless. read more

Just have to say that Serita is a massage magician!! It's seriously like waiting for Christmas morning whenever I have an appointment coming up. I have a lot of past sports injuries (multiple shoulder dislocations, knee pain/injuries), ridiculopathy, pain from my daily biking commute of 7+ miles, and loads of stress from work and I swear, I am a completely different person after a session with her. She is meticulous and knows how to apply just the right amount of pressure to relieve knots and fascia without going over the edge into pain. What's great about her technique is that she can address those tightness issues, while still also giving me a relaxing and pleasurable experience that relieves stress as well as pain. I cannot recommend her highly enough and feel so fortunate to have found such an amazing massage therapist who's also in my neighborhood!! read more

As a dancer and Pilates instructor, I have been to a variety of massage therapists over the years and no one compares to Jennifer. Do not be decieved be her small stature, she is VERY strong and intuitive about what needs worked on. I have been to Jennifer twice since the new year and would consider it a waste of money to see anyone else! I also love her cute little massage room. It is quiet and peaceful and I never have any trouble parking. read more

"Healing Touch" is right! I came to Jennifer to help with the tension I was feeling in my neck and shoulders... and to help my forget about my stress. She started with the most stimulating and soothing scalp and face massage to help me ground myself. I didn't want her to stop. I thought this would be the best part of the massage. Nope.. she then worked on my neck, with deep... very deep tension releasing magic hands techniques (I felt her level of experience right away). This is when I thought.. "wow! This is my favorite part". Nope.... she felt a lot of tension in my shoulders.. again deep into my rotator cuff. She notices the difference between my arms and worked on what needed to be worked. Although, the session itself was the most therapeutic and deep (that word again) massage I've experienced, I couldn't imagine not receiving this level of care on a regular basis. I received so much value from Jennifer's care. I highly recommend her. Thank you Jennifer. read more

I have been using Jennifer for over 2 years. I've tried a lot of massage therapists in the past, but Jennifer is my favorite by far. She provides deep tissue massage. It's better than other therapists because she uses her thumbs instead of her elbows. That allows her to really focus the pressure to where it's needed. I always look forward to her massages! read more

I have not had a lot of massages in my life. But I will have more after this experience. As a photographer I tend to have a lot of knots in my back and arms. Jennifer took care of those with her strong but gentle approach. I must say too how much i liked the jazz music playing rather than the jingly new age stuff that often is heard in spas. Make your appointment. You won't regret it. read more

I showed up, but it appears walk ins aren't actually welcome. Nobody answered the door, nor answered the phone. I bet it would have been a great massage, though! read more

I've had plenty of "relaxation" massages over the years. They're nice for an hour or so of peaceful escape, but when they're over, they're over. I'm sure Jennifer can do a great relaxation massage, and if that was what I was looking for, I'd call her first. But for my money, she's one of the best Therapeutic Masseuses I've ever used. She has very strong hands and understands how to relieve stress, knots, spasms and overall tension through systematic application of pressure and massage. Tell her how deeply and forcefully you want her to work, and she is able to take you right up to that point - and yet do it in a gentle fashion, which to me is where her artistry lies. If one so chooses, she will encourage the client to actively work with her during the massage, to increase the overall therapeutic benefit. This makes for a much more effective session, and I feel that the results are more lasting than those achieved from a more traditional passive "lie there and doze" approach. Jennifer was recommended to me when I had a killer neck spasm. It was basically a painful tense knot that I couldn't stretch or massage out myself. She was able to relax the spasm and relieve the pain by using strong but gentle massage techniques, not just at the point of the spasm, but in the surrounding areas as well. If you're searching for bodywork that provides immediate and long lasting therapeutic results, as opposed to a short-lived surface rub, I would highly recommend Jennifer. read more

I am one of those masseuse connoisseurs who continually seeks out individuals who really know how an athletete's body works. Jennifer @ Dog Patch Massage is one of those fabulous finds -- she is truly amazing! Absolutely sweet and caring, she is deeply knowledgable about the body and fully committed to bringing it back into balance. She cares (as I truly do) to find and unravel the root of chronic imbalance or injury problems, and has unlocked some deep shoulder and hip issues for me -- hard-to-find and stubbornly deep issues that took some time, but truly released. There are few people that really know how to get there, and she is one of those rare finds. If you are on a path to physical healing, she is a great partner to have. I am extremely grateful for the difference she's made for me, and wanted the world to know. read more

Serita is a revelation! I had high expectations after getting regular massages with Jennifer, so I was nervous about trying someone new. But I gave it a chance and it was terrific. I highly recommend both Serita and Jennifer! read more
