I've never been more disappointed with a daycare provider in all my years of using this type of service. If you're going to support someone's business, do it for someone who actually deserves your money.

Although I've often thought of writing a review, I never got around to it but when I picked Angus up yesterday, I knew I had to tell anyone looking for a doggie daycare, what a special place the Doghouse is and how wonderful & caring the people who work there are. You can expect your doggie to have walks, play and cuddles, but on occasions like Halloween, you can expect the staff to go above and beyond and add another layer of fun to the day. My Wee Angus really loves coming here. I really appreciate the environment Christine (manager), Laura and Jenna have created for the doggies & the positive work environment they seem to have with each other. Every visit the first year he gained confidence, he has best friends, human and of course many dog buddies. Check out Instagarm and you will see Markus and all the dogs. He is so happy to attend and gets excited when we are a block away. The staff truly love the dogs and interact with them. When we pick him up we get updates, lately Markus is going on longer walks which is awesome. He is ready for quiet hang out time at the end of the day, having walked, played, napped and snacked. For those effected, some of the dogs may have gotten sick, having diarrhea issues or worse. Granted it was possible some else's dog had it, but what kind of daycare doesn't clean enough to maintain a clean environment for our loved ones. Don't count on your dog being able to be playful either. If there is any possibility that the dogs might play with each other and become a bit vocal, they are shutdown and put away in crates for a "time out" until their bad behavior is over. This more like a POW Camp than a day care of dogs. Leave your dogs here at your own risk! If they do something wrong, the owner will try to make you pay for damage from the dogs not being supervised and taken care of. Read that contract before you sign up and ask if you can view the areas your pets will be in. You might be able to at the end of the day, but that's so you don't see what happens during normal business hours.

I need to know that the person who cares for my dog can handle my lil firecracker and prevent trouble from happening. My good friend who lives across the street is such a person, but more than a couple of days of dogsitting is kind of an imposition for a friend. I definitely did not want to send my large, energetic dog to a kennel (aka doggy jail). Bronte Pet Services to the rescue! I found them through a link on the website of the also-awesome Dizine Canine training centre. These wonderful people, April and Lauren and their team of petsitters, specialize in and even enjoy working with challenging dogs. They are also involved with HugABull rescue and are well-trained and experienced in reactive dog handling. We exchanged a few emails, and a couple of days before the trip, April, who would be sitting for us (the sitter she initially matched us with had to cancel) and another Lauren, who would providing some relief, came over for a home visit and to get the keys and contracts, etc. Sally loved them right away (cookies!), and when we left for the trip, we felt assured she - and the house - was in good hands. Knowing my dog, I had some lingering worries, but the first progress report email dispelled them completely. Throughout the trip, April sent us emails and pictures regularly to update us on how things were going. They would generally stay overnight and give her morning and evening walks and feeding. I'm also super happy with all extras April brought to the arrangement. She brought over her own doggy puzzle toys for Sally to solve to get her dinner - and who doesn't like to be told their dog is smart enough to solve the hardest ones with ease? She also introduced us to using a body halter, rather than the head halter I had been using, and even lent me one to try out after we got back. And she definitely wore my dog out with lots of interesting walks and "urban agility" exercises in the park nearby. They take care of all kinds of pets, but I love that they love taking care of even the more challenging (difficult, smart, energetic) animals. And I love that, since finding Bronte Pet Services, I feel like maybe I can now take a vacation once in a while!

I have always found Elene's team of groomers to be professional and to listen to any directions I have had about my dog's cuts. I am to the point where now I just drop my dog off and hardly say a word as they know based on the season what cut to give him. When I got my new puppy I took him in to make an appointment to get his nails done and to have a bath. Elena asked if I would mind having Barkley come by for a short photo shoot. I agreed. The picture Elena took were simply amazing. So much so that I booked Barkley for another appointment to get a series of photos done since the ladies at work liked them so much. I highly recommend Elena and the crew at Top Dog for both grooming and photography of your furry friends. They are top notch.

My finance and I called Zoomies inquiring about their overnight boarding services. Everything…read moreseemed okay when we booked a night for our two dogs on Dec 31st for Jan 2nd. Later that evening on Dec 31st around 7 pm we received a call from Zoomies and were asked to bring our dogs in for a trial visit before they stayed overnight. We were asked to bring our dogs in at 630 am to 1130 am on Jan 2 even though we needed boarding services that same day at 1 pm. Today (Jan 1) I called the company and requested for a trial visit for today as we needed to know if they were able to board our dogs for Jan 2. Sammy the individual working called her boss and asked if we could come in today and we were appreciative of that as they were technically only open for the dogs that were already being boarded overnight and not for daycare. When I arrived at Zoomies with my 2 dogs I was then informed there would be a charge of $27 per dog for a full day visit. I was surprised and disappointed as this was never explained to us previously (the additional charges) and the charges were first mentioned when I was at the business with my 2 dogs ready to drop them off. I spoke to the owner Craig and informed him of all that had occurred and he said he would talk to his staff and offered his apologies. He stuck by the daycare rate and offered me no other options. Craig even informed me the overnight boarding option was new as of Dec 2014 and was for dogs that had already had a daycare visit. This was surprising for me to hear as this had not been mentioned on Dec 31st when we initially booked their services. I was unaware of the requirements for a overnight stay (i.e. the additional cost for a daycare visit). There was a huge barrier in communication here as well as poor customer service! We are extremely disappointed as we feel there were no other options made available to us as potential customers!

Really needed to get our dog groomed before we go away so he doesn't get too hot. I get my sister to bring him in as I had to work. Apparently they cancelled my groom and sent me an email to let me know- never received, not even in my junk. Now I'm struggling to find a last minute groom. Waste of time and I'm frustrated.
