Easy enough to get an appointment by using their online app. After that you receive an email verifying it. For my 20 lb dog it is $35 for a wash and a nail clip. Today it took barely over an hour which certainly surprised me with the quickness, as it usually is two hours. Great place. I've only used their doggy nail trimming service (no boarding or day care), but I'm always pleased with the quality of service, the staff and the ease of booking an appointment even on short notice. I just bring our Jack Russell Surry to the door, wait in the car and they bring her back out and charge the card on file. Surry is not very happy with me of course, but her nails look and feel great, so she comes back around eventually (treats help). This location is also super convenient to my neighborhood and not too far from Maybank Hwy as well. Highly recommend for easy nail trims! read more

This is not the closest dog day care to where I lIve. I tried out three different places, got tours, had trial days at each, and then watched my dog for stress reactions each time. He did well in all of them but I really liked the people at Dog Tired I thought their families were the best. I popped unexpectedly for a walk through and it was very clean and everyone seemed to be happy. The staff seem to be very happy and now they know Ellis when he walks through the door. My dog always comes home tired (that is a good thing -- he's a hound), and getting a boarding slot hasn't been a problem. I love the report cards I get while I am on the road. When I pick him up my dog is relaxed, he hops in the car, and he usually naps for the rest of the day. I see no behavior problems that would indicate he is unhappy or stressed. read more

My husband and I are wedding photographers in Charleston and yesterday we shot an engagement session on Folly beach. Our clients hired Dog Tired to bring their golden retriever, Remi, to the beach and to stay and help watch her while we were photographing just the two of them! Sue (from Dog Tired) was amazing! She came prepared and on time with Remi, and was such a big help during the shoot! She would hold Remi to the side, whenever she wasn't supposed to be in a photo, and would help us get Remi's attention with treats, so she was perfectly looking into the camera for the pics! Dog Tired James Island is amazing!! The staff went above and beyond to make sure all of our questions were answered and our apprehension about leaving our 4 month old Jack Russel in Day Care. They even called ahead and had all of his Vet records sent ahead. Dog Tired is not just day care, we have also noticed that Ozzy is learning basic commands and not mouthing and puppy biting as much. He returns home tired, and is always excited to return! We also love receiving pictures from his daily adventures with the other puppies, as well as a progress report. The groups are kept small, and we feel extremely confident with the team at Dog Tired. I hate to write a negative review but I'm at my wits end with this place. We used doggy daycare two times when we visited Seabrook Island in March 2021 and paid by debit card. Since then each month I kept getting charged a $21 fee. I never signed up for a contract. We were on holiday. Each time I emailed or call they apologize and say they will reverse the charges. It took about two months to get my money back was also told my card was deleted from their system. This was in May 2021. However I was charged again this week. The email response was that they will refund again. But then I received a call that since they deleted my card info they need me to give it to them again to be credited. I have no desire to give my card again I asked for a check instead. Still waiting on a response on this..... So moral of the story - if you are using this place for a one time use PAY CASH! Do not leave a card. Oh and double check your appointment because the first day I picked up my dog I scheduled another day for two days later and when I showed up I was told they didn't have my reservation and there was no room. A great option for when your little fur guys need to be watched for a day

They are nice people and I do believe they care about the dogs but they are severely understaffed and need to be better about communication. We picked up our dog after a full day to get her acclimated for future day care and boarding and the whole time they thought she was a he (the whole day, really?? That's a red flag to me about the amount of attention they can give the dogs). Not the biggest issue but a red flag nonetheless. We scheduled a day care session a couple days later with no issues, but upon arrival, they were confused and told us they didn't have any record of us making a reservation even though we completed it online and it was accepted. They then told us that there is no room left for Day care, only boarding, AFTER accepting us for day care /boarding earlier in the week online. They told us our dog could not do day care but they could board her for the day. That didn't make any sense, they couldn't watch her for 4 hours but they could charge us more and watch her for 24 hours ? Another strange red flag. We just told them thanks but no thanks and took her home and had to reschedule our entire day. Not the biggest deal but in hindsight just had really bad vibes the whole time with how they conduct business. Dogs are a part of the family and they deserve a spot that really can pay attention to them properly. read more

Im not exactly sure how i stumbled upon this place(most likely social media) but I'm so glad i did! Tucked away in Johns island i dont mind the drive for what they have to offer for my pup. They're called an enrichment center ( which ill probably only look for from now on) because they not only watch your puppers but also encourage training, hikes, proper greeting and positive interactions with each other. They have a small pup side and a larger pup side, both equip with steps and obstacles. They have solo rooms if needed and climate control boarding. read more

I have been taking my pup, DeLancey, to Dog Tired for probably 8 or 9 months now every-time I go out of town and it really doesn't get better then this! They are so attentive and loving towards the dogs, and you can tell they really do care about them and want them to have the best experience possible. Amanda (the assistant manager) and all the other girls are treat them like their own and are so patient with them. They have an add on option where you can have them put up a few photos of your dog each day on their Facebook page while you're out of town and it really puts my mind at ease being able to see DeLancey having a good time at their facility. I moved from the beginning of North Charleston (nearest to downtown) to the end of North Charleston (nearest to Goose Creek) and I still take her there, because even though the drive is long, it's the best of the best! I am more than a little upset that when I brought my two dogs in for a bath and nail trim at the $30+ range it turned out to be $60 per dog. Yes They are 65-70 lbs lab mix dogs but when the range starts at $30 and the next level bath is $50 you don't expect the + to be twice the base. The website says price depends on the size and breed but that's a step too far. It's ridiculous. Someone should have said something when I spent 10 minutes filling out a form online per dog, and then 10 minutes setting the reservation after that, that the cost of a bath would be twice the standard rate. The Dogs are clean but that is the most I can say for this place. NEVER again Dawg Tired! Fool me once, I hope you enjoy the one time payment, you lost a repeat customer with your lack of transparency and price gouging! All I wanted was a nail trim but figured for an extra $10 or so a dog, they could also get a bath. My mistake, not to be repeated. read more

What a fabulous place for your pets!! Complete lifesaver too. We booked a room at a pet friendly hotel but we still needed a place to watch our dog for the day so we could go to the beach. Our dog was happy and healthy and had fun. The staff was helpful, friendly and caring. My new go to place when we travel to Folly Beach, SC from now on. Is it possible to give one part of a service five stars and another part four stars? For some reason my oldest girl who is 11 did not like doing to the dog tired facility and never could figure out why. But boy oh boy do they all love Alexa coming to the house ! Alexa gets 5 Stars definitely ! She goes above and beyond every single time she comes to the house! She makes sure that the girls all get to go outside potty , get a little bit of breakfast, and have a little time to play. All in 30 minutes. She notices when something isn't right and lets me know right away. She snuggles with them as if they were her own ! Even on the few occasions that Alexa has been unavailable, her backup has also had a blast with my girls. Love that DawgTired has backup sitters so that I don't have to worry about it. read more

My husband and I took our dog to Dog Tired on a recent vacation to South Carolina and I could not have been more impressed. The application process was extremely thorough, and made me feel comfortable about leaving my beloved dog there while we explored the city. The staff took great care with Ida. They introduced her to the group slowly and made sure she was comfortable, gave us a report card (A+ :) about her behavior, and sent her home happy, dog tired, and without the "doggie smell" she usually has when she comes home from daycare in New York. I could not recommend a daycare more highly and we look forward to visiting again when we return to Johns Island. read more

Dawg Tired is every dogs dream. Grey and her staff are the most efficient, caring and accommodating people I have ever met. My two dogs start doing their happy dance in the car at least two miles before we turn into their facility. First off I want to start off by saying I have never once left someone a bad review. But I am very disappointed. I took my dog in to Dog Tired during the week for his daycare assessment in order for him to stay for one night over the weekend. The daycare assessment seemed to go well from what the staff told me. I asked if it were okay to drop him off at any time on Saturday for his reservation that night, and the girl at the front desk said yes. I showed up at 11:00am on Saturday, to find out they were closed, and not opening until 4:00pm. This was incredibly frustrating as no one warned me of this, and I had to leave town in two hours. I then had to coordinate with a friend to drop him off later that day at 4:30pm. My friend tells me everything went alright at drop off but the staff was not very helpful with what to do. I then return the next day at 4:00pm to pick him up (as the staff told her 4-6 was the pick up time), and come to find out I am charged double for the stay and their reasoning was I was doing a late pickup and they had to charge for two days of daycare. He hadn't even been here for 24 hours! One night of boarding ended up costing me $89 not including the assessment day charge of $36. I then take my dog outside of the facility, he immediately runs for the grass to pee (I've never seen him go for so long) and poop twice. Instantly. Which of course makes me wonder how long was he locked inside without access to go to the bathroom?? THEN on the way to the car and for the next six days (and counting) my puppy is walking with an incredibly bad limp which he has never had before, which they didn't care to mention to me or even notice. All in all I am incredibly unsatisfied with how things went for our first visit. A lot of this could have been avoided if the staff properly communicated the rules to a first time and last time customer. read more

Dawg Tired offers a great pet sitting service. Instead of leaving our highly energetic dog in his crate for 8-9 hours, we take him to doggy daycare. He goes straight to his bed as soon as we walk in the door after a day at Dawg Tired. It's so nice to come home after work and not have to worry about getting him exercise. The staff are very friendly and great with pets. I would recommend any service that Dawg Tired offers. They are a life saver! Our dog loves it too! read more

The Dawg Tired team is absolutely great! Our hyper terrier loves going to doggy daycare and we have seen so much improvement in his behavior at home as a result. Thanks to Gray and her team for taking such good care of our beagle/dachschund mix, Charley, for several days. Charley's been to several doggy day cares and is a regular at one near our home in DC, but I was really impressed with the quality of the introductions and how well the staff immediately seemed to understand her personality (low-key and lazy, dislikes rambunctious girl dogs, and wants time with the staff to be petted.) The staff made her feel right at home and let her do things at her own speed. Charley enjoyed hanging out and running in the yard with other dogs of similar temperament (she was best buds with a cute pug), but also enjoyed being able to have nap time when she needed, too. She always enjoys doggy day care, but is ready to leave when we come pick her up - at Dawg Tired she'd act reluctant to leave when we came to pick her up each evening. We were very impressed with the services, and Charley hopes to be a regular when we move to Charleston! read more
