I asked for a short cut on my dog. The groomer told me that my dog's breed doesnt go that short, so she did what she wanted and I could hardly tell if the coat was cut at all or if was just washed. When I went for pick up, she asked if I wanted it shorter and I said yes, but I was disappointed. So I asked if she could cut my other dogs nails and she said it would be $10. I said no thanks and she asked me to book another appointment! I left and now get a beautiful short cut somewhere else in the area. read more

Dogsplash and Heidi are the epitome of "best in class"! The work she does is amazing and thorough, and she connects with the dogs she grooms in the best possible way. I was told my 3 year old Papillion was a "problem" dog. Her fur is very cottony and tangles and matted instantly. She's also very sensitive to tugging and yanking on the littlest tangles. The groomer at my vet said she had to be medicated, but even on Xanax, grooming was still a very stressful and traumatic experience - for my dog as well as me and the groomer! After one session, she even had diarrhea when we got home. After 2 places and groomers not wanting to deal with her, Dog Obedience Group recommended I try Heidi. I was able to hold her and give her treats when she would be still and not "scream". Heidi also didn't think her behavior was all that bad! With the products Heidi uses, her fur no longer tangles and mats - which means grooming goes easier for everyone. And her fur is incredibly silky. What a difference in our grooming experience. Once again I need to give Dog Splash two paws up. Heidi has been grooming our dogs now for years. about 6 months ago one of our little guys was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Our vet informed us that we should keep him out of stressful situations, like grooming, etc. We had to go way to long for his grooming. I called Heidi to tell her of our circumstance. Willie and Violet have been going to see Heidi for the last couple of years, and our experience has been flawless. Willie is a Wheaten Terrier, and Violet is a Wheaten Terrier/Poodle (whoodle). Both have coats that require grooming every 12-15 weeks and baths every 3 weeks, and we choose to keep them cut in a more traditional Wheaten cut than most people. Heidi has worked with us to perfect the cut over the years. And recently, when we requested a significantly shorter cut so the Whoodle could swim in the lake without bringing a gallon of sand home each time, Heidi cut her in stages so we would be happy with the length. My family adopted our dog from C.A.R.E. animal shelter in Evanston. He is a poodle/bichon mix. When we adopted him, his coat was matted and stained. We didn't know of any good groomers so we took him to PetSmart which was traumatic for him and us. He also came back almost bald. I did some research and talked to other dog owners in my area and everyone recommended Dog Splash. We took him when his hair grew back. We never owned a dog that had to be groomed so we didn't know how to go about brushing him so he became a little matted again. When we walked in, Heidi talked to us about how we wanted his hair cut and styled. When we were going to pick him up, we were expecting our dog to be almost bald again, but Heidi managed to save his hair and style it in a completely adorable way. Another very important difference to us was how the groomers at Dog Splash treat the dogs. When we picked up Mozart from PetSmart, we could hear him howling from the back and the groomer complained that he had been biting, which is very out of character. My girls got skunked the other night - what a fiasco! I did some stop-gap stink removal and called Heidi the next morning - she said to bring them in. When I got there, she cheerfully and matter-of-factly took the first one in the tub and started to work. Since they both got it in the face, Heidi took special care to ensure that nothing got in their eyes. She kept working until both of them were completely odor-free. It also turned out that their collars and leashes were stinky, too, and I was able to purchase new collars and leashes. This place is terrific! I don't know why Jamie had a bad experience.. We flew in with our Yorkies to visit relatives.. The boys needed a bath and a trim. My mom suggested Dog Splash. Heidi was wonderful! She treated our boys like they were family. The place was so clean and didn't smell. We are fussy. If a place is dirty and smells, there's no way we will leave them. Been coming here for over a year. Do a great job on our Bichon. Prices are pretty good. They don't use crate dryers which is EXTREMELY important for the welfare of dogs. Doesn't leave them as stressed as other places. From time to time, they may miss hairs that need to be trimmed or forget to clean the ears. Owner can be a bit moody too, but always professional.
