Really happy with the service at over at DGC. I've tried other groomers in town and never quite got what I asked for, but the team here absolutely nailed it. They were attentive, patient, and even offered to give my pup breaks since it was his first time with them. You can tell they genuinely care and take the time to make your pups feel comfortable. Great communication and my boy came out with a clean, well-done cut. We will definitely be returning. read more

Upon receiving a recommendation from a friend I decided to try this place to get my small terrier/schnauzer mix groomed here. Tucker is about 15 pounds and gets super fluffy. We usually only get him shaved twice a year since we can handle basic grooming in between, but being summer it was time to get it done. While they were busy and I wasn't able to get him in for a few weeks the communication was great, staff was friendly, and our pet stylist, Janessa, listened to what I wanted and the results were great. Tucker was looking fabulous, nails trimmed and filed, and smelling great. Very affordable and worth what I paid. We will definitely be back. read more

We LOVE this groomer. We had just moved to the area and we're looking for a new groomer for our corgi, Cooper. Jaceen was Amazing with him and sent us SUCH cute photos after his groom! I love that they send us these cute themed photos it's one of the reasons I booked a groom. I can tell all the groomers there really do love dogs, they're all so great with him when we enter. My dog actually loves going to the groomers now and we feel so great knowing he's in great hands with Jaceen. If you need to get your dog groomed you MUST come here! read more

Highly recommend Dog Gone Crazy! The salon is spacious, clean, and even has couches to sit on if you need to wait. We've taken several dogs to see Jaceen for baths or nail trims and she always gets them finished quickly, usually in an hour or less. They also worked with us if a dog needed a more quiet time to go in for grooming. Their prices are competitive and their patience and understanding is highly appreciated. The icing on the cake is the owner has volunteered and donated services to shelter & rescue animals, plus has a seasonal photo op set up for your pups. read more

we've used this groomer regularly in the past 3-4 years however have been disappointed by the groomers' lackadaisical attitude in returning calls, most recently waiting three days to respond and then asking me to wait a fourth day before she would get back to me. on the other hand, the groomer has contacted us the past to ask that we honor reschedule requests she has made for both business and personal reasons. waiting four days to return a call is ridiculous and shows that they place little value on the work they do and in retaining clientele. due to lax customer service and poor responsiveness we sought another service provider. read more

By far the best grooming business in town. We have a Newfoundland/poodle mix, needless to say he must be groomed often. The owner, Whitney, did his first ever grooming appointment and she did ahhhhmazing. We now book with Sammi who absolutely rocks it every single time. Otis LOVES visiting his Sammi and getting all cleaned up! I cannot say enough good things about this business and all of the groomers who work there. ALSO, Rubi took my brother in laws dog (golden retriever) in on extremely short notice and did wonderful as well. I swear, they are all rockstars in there!!! read more

I have got a lot of Rescue Pets. Cats, we have 4 in each flavor, orange or black. One long haired gray, one calico, one a stunning gunmetal blue tabby, those are the inside cats only. I also have three parrots an Indian ring neck and two amazons, a red crowned and a lilac crowned amazon. All of these animals are rescues. Oh we have dogs too. But today I would like to mention a great experience I had at Dog Gone Crazy. I'm a new customer, never been there until yesterday to look the place over and book an appointment for my Siberian Husky for nail trimming. So my appointment was at 3pm today. I arrived about 15 minutes early to allow my dog Lego, to calm down a little after the ride. I was greeted by the other groomers when I arrived and they went to get my assigned groomer. She came out into the waiting area, sat down on the floor beside my dog and her and I just began talking. Click, off came the first nail. Lego didn't know what had even happened. My dog wasn't a great customer but in a few moments and a dog treat or two, he was done. That was an efficient, caring groomer. My dogs feelings were always her top concern. When he was nervous she paused at times to settle the stress level my dog was feeling and me, I got the "old friend treatment" for sure. The prices were really reasonable. I am absolutely an old friend after today. After all I am 75. read more

I debated this review for a while, but I feel like it should be said for others to be aware of. My dog, Zola, 9 year old rescue went it for her first grooming in January 2019. She's a king charles spaniel/pekingese mix. She looked so perfect and smelled amazing. Her groomer did amazing. I thought, "why not take her again?" I truly wanted her to trust one groomer for the rest of her life. I took her again in May 2019 and she just looked so miserable when I came in for her. 1. She didn't even smell like they gave her a bath and 2. Apparently they shaved so close to her stomach that she had a rash, which she scratched at for days. Luckily, I got my money back for the grooming, I only thought it was only fair. I understand my dog can be a little all over the place. She was abused a lot before I rescued her and she's not a fan of new people and places. I waited a while for her next grooming. A few weeks ago I texted her old groomer, heard nothing from her. I began looking through yelp and found someone else who happened to be at this same salon (I didn't notice until I took my dog). I took in Zola & left for some errands. An hour later, I get a call that Zola was biting and wouldn't calm down. Apparently all they could do in the one hour she was there was a bath... never in the two occasions I took Zola there did they say anything about biting. Mostly that she just shakes and gets nervous. She has never bit me, friends/family, or other dogs in public. So I was just so baffled over the phone and went to go pick up Zola. She was basically wet when I got her and they still had the nerve to charge $25 for services. No nail trim or nothing. A bath for $25 is ridiculous but I didn't want any issues so I paid. Long story short, I think there was more to why Zola possibly bit the groomer. That same day I took her to another grooming salon and they said she did just fine. read more

I have never been happier with my grooming experience. First, booking an appointment was easy. I'm used to long waits with groomers who are good at what they do. I just moved here from a city where there was no shortage of groomers. I've tried so many and by far this is the best. The pricing is very reasonable for the same services with lesser quality I've been charged double. I have never been more in love with a haircut and bathing before. He smells so clean and looks absolutely incredible. He even looks more like a puppy now! This is my go to place from now on. I absolutely love it. I can't recommend it enough. read more

I've been bringing my two standard poodles to Dog Gone Crazy since 2017. I used to drive all the way to Los Angeles to have my one show dog groomed properly. Since she retired the ring, I tried many places in Bakersfield. I didn't settle with any of them until I found Dog Gone Crazy. Both Alicia and Whitney have groomed my dogs, and they always look freakin' amazing. They are consistent with their cuts and caring to my pups. They recognize when one of them is having a rough day, and accommodate them accordingly. So, not only is the grooming excellent and consistent, but they have tender hearts and have learned my dogs' personalities. And both Show-dog and Rescue are happy to see everyone at Dog Gone Crazy and eager to spend the day getting wildly pampered. read more

Our new groomer, DGC is another new, hip business bringing back the downtown area. On 19th St. 2 blocks east of Chester Avenue, DGC is a dog grooming place, but more organized than those places I have been dealing with. I like that they keep a file on each dog, and review it with you there. The place is clean and spacious, and they don't overbook. Text and phone calls keep you aware of appointments and pick up times. Lastly, they are really good at grooming. Our silly Bichon comes home looking great and feeling good. read more

Omg, I love this place! And I am extremely picky. I'm always hesitant to try somewhere new. My miniature poodle is like one of my kids and I only want the best for him. We called and they were able to see us the same day. I really appreciated that as we were on a tight schedule. They did the best grooming job on my poodle that He's ever gotten. I was seriously surprised. They definitely are a grade above the rest. The cute little reindeer bandana they put around his neck was the cutest extra touch. Will be returning once we are back in to Update: Ive always had good service here so this updated review is not about that. I gave this place 5 stars previously because it truly is good grooming. However, since Covid hit, it's been impossible to get my dog in for service and therefore I've had to use other groomers. Disappointing to say the least when we've been established customers for a while now. I realize Covid plays a role in this. Before Covid I used to have to wait for a few days to a week for an availability in the schedule. Every time I've tried to check in on times now it's way too far out. When I called today they said they are booked out 6 weeks! You'd think they would have sooner appts. for established customers. I understood long wait times at first because I knew many were trying to get their pets back in but it's August now. Very disappointed. read more

Everybody needs to take their dogs here! Buddy and Chloe have looked amazing each and every time. Whitney has great attention to detail, has fair prices, is very friendly, and is a true artist. I've been to at least 7 other groomers in Bakersfield and she is by far the best. The salon is SUPER cute inside and open concept so you can see your dogs getting groomed and know that they're not locked up in some back room. They always have seasonal bandanas/bows which is a really nice touch. Sadly, I moved out of state and won't be coming back, but this place was seriously so nice and I can not recommend it enough! If you're not taking your babies here you're missing out!! read more

Stopped in today to get 2 of my sister's dogs groomed. Stress levels were high because I am taking care of them for a few months and if anything happens...lets just not go there. Called in to make an appointment and was able to find a slot the same day which was nice. Most importantly is that they are very accommodating to the needs and worries an owner might have for their pets. Also, from start to finish, they interacted with my dogs with such genuine affection and care that your worry levels shoots way down. Aesthetically , they look amazing too. Overall, great experience with Dog Gone Crazy, will be back. I forget my groomers name but while I was in there, all the groomers had similar vibes. read more

Is your dog knotty? This is the place to go and confess. There is no judgement, just open arms and love. Your pup won't put the brakes on when you walk through the door. Instead, your furry friend will likely drag you inside and say "see ya later, mom. No, seriously. I've got this. You can leave now." There is serious magic and mayhem (the good kind) that happens within these walls, followed by a call a short time later to pick up your puffy, prideful pup. Worth every penny. If you want someone to love your dog like you do, THIS is the place. read more

This is the third time I've taken my Labradoodle to Sabrina. I was extremely happy the first two times however because it took me forever to get in to see her the third time, I had to groom my dog at home. I wash and brush him regularly. He is a big boy and quite hyper and can be quite the handful. Today was NO exception. Sabrina told me when I picked him up that he Did NOT want to be groomed and was kind of wild. I wish she would have just called me to pick him up instead of shaving him completely as I was very specific when I told her that is not what I wanted. I was u see the impression that he would be short, not bald when it's 45 degrees outside. Very disappointed in the service I received today. read more

Sabrina is the best! My client goes to her, and I just took one of our dogs for a first time grooming experience. I was a bit nervous, and so was my dog! But Sabrina made us feel at ease - she's very kind and gentle, and picked up Kanga and put him over her shoulder. I knew he was in good hands. I was referred by a friend after I told her I couldn't get callbacks from many other groomers. Left vm and got a text reply not long after to arrange the appointment a couple weeks later. My dog is medium size (50 lbs) but has specific hair issues due to breed. Jaceen told me it would be about an hour to groom him. I didn't really believe it, others take four hours but evidently that's actually a lot of time in kennels just waiting. Not at DGC. After the last place groomed him he was definitely in some kind of weird trauma state and they told me he was extremely difficult which was the first time I'd ever been told that and it's not his personality but I told her he has issues with his feet and may need a muzzle (to go by the last place it seemed he was a junkyard dog, yeah I didn't buy that either.) So I wanted her to know ahead of time. She had no issues but said he's sensitive his feet having the hair trimmed but no big deal. The finished product was a good fall/winter field cut and he had no weirdness after like the other bozo. Reasonable price, easy to do given the short turnaround (you could have lunch or a shake at Woolworth's a few doors down and voila doggo is ready) and the cut is spot on. Yes they earned a repeat customer. read more

I'm so happy I found this pet salon. My little dog gets very traumatized after the groomers, and it usually takes him at least two weeks to get back to his old self, sometimes way longer. When I dropped him off on Saturday at 10 am, he was done within about an hour! When I picked him up, I expected him to be acting funny again, but he didn't. Now here it is Sunday and he's still his normal self! I'm so relieved that he doesn't seem completely traumatized, like all his other visits to the big box store down the street.
