I have also made food purchases here and have been pleased. I would not rely on their walk in services though. I have tried to go several times for a nail trim between grooming appointments and each time they tell me they are too busy. I stopped even going and go somewhere else now as it was a waste of time to stop by each time. Maybe they should take this service off of their list if they never have time? Just a thought. Overall I have been pleased though and will go back.

Marley is a Silky/Yorkie Terrier, so thats already a labour intensive job. And we don't like her Yorkie'd up, more just a hair cut. So I know they can do Yorkie; they can also just do a cut without any deviation from what we want. So comfortable dog, great do, local to me, friendly people and a reasonable price. I couldn't really ask for anything more!

Tyler was really helpful and went above and beyond. Prices are what they are but lots of clearance areas. Store was clean and inviting if not really bright inside! No kitties today but l saw lots of fish, birds, guinea pigs... I just love adding an outing like this with my dog after our hike. Sunday is her day!

Bad Experience:…read more What was supposed to be a fun day for my son and choosing his first pet hampster today with the money he saved turned out to be a very bad experience. We went into the PetSmart in Kanata on his school break, we spoke to the associate Brianna about purchasing a dwarf hamster because my daughter bought one the previous week she informed us that they can't live together in the same cage. I said ok and asked some more questions, she then told me I would need to buy its own cage and she told me their cages ranged from $80-$100 I went to look at them, but then decided to check another stores website and I found a kit for $40. I went back to Brianna and told her we wanted to purchase the hampster and we were going to get the cage on the way home and she said NO, go do your shopping and come back. I told her that would not work for us because I needed to stop on my way home because my son needs to get back for his school. She said NO again and that was my only option. We ended up leaving and at this point my son was crying and I did not want to purchase from PetSmart but he was so upset that I decided to drive him home, go out by the cage then return back to buy it. Again I got Brianna and she was very rude asking my over and over did you buy a cage, I eventually responded back yes as I was signing my paperwork. First things first my son's experience was ruined because I ended up having to chose the hampster & secondly the treatment I received because I would not purchase the cage from her was unacceptable. Found a tick on my dog and panicked as I could not find our tick key. Called up our regular…read morevet(Greenbank Animal Hospital), who promptly told me I need an appointment (1.5 hrs time) or I could come get a key and do it myself. Arrived at the clinic 5 mins later, no pets in the waiting room, clinic rooms or coming in the door. The 3 vet techs and receptionist said they could not help me, gave me a tick key, pointed me to a bathroom and told to follow instructions. I was told to flush it when done, that nobody does testing on ticks anymore. My dog did not get any free cookies but ‍ I phoned another clinic and said I was a patient at another clinic and asked for information on ticks and treatments. I was told that I should get her tested after 6 weeks to be sure she does not have Lyme or any other diseases from it, as proteins would be present at that time. I am completely furious at the lack of service, compassion and out right not caring about my pet. I am searching for a new vet ( taking suggestions) however Greenbank animal hospital will NOT be getting anymore of my business as they OBVIOUSLY do not care about the health of their patience!!!

I had an amazing experience at Christine's!…read more Our lovely little fluffy kitty was terribly matted and we couldn't brush a lot of them out, let alone cut them out. His claws made that a tad difficult (like Samantha's kitty mentioned below!). We had about a 5 minute wait when we got to Christine's, and there was Christine, another lady and a young girl (about 12 who was off on vacation!) who all were super pleasant and just adored our cat. There were several other cats and dogs there who were all lovingly attended to. It only took about twenty minutes to clean up our little guy (shaved, trimmed and brushed) and only cost us about $20, which I thought was very fair. My only issue was that I couldn't find the correct address online! The address listed was apparently out of date, so we had to walk down Bank St. with a howling kitty until we found the "new" location. Don't worry Yelpers - we made sure we've got the right address posted on here! :)

They do an acceptable job, although they don't pay attention to detail the way my former groomer did (see Dogfather review - boy do we miss her!), but pooch looked cute enough. They don't clean ears unless you ask, and my dog will probably never look as wonderful as shown in pic above (taken in Toronto), but Christine's is in my neighbourhood, so it was convenient. At some point, they decided they would raise their prices, and not tell me- in fact, they DOUBLED their prices. My dog weighs 15 lbs, is well-behaved for groomers, and her hair is never very long as she is groomed regularly. They decided to charge almost $80 for a wash and brush (not a full groom folks!). When I suggested this was exorbitant, not too mention almost double the $45 they were charging before, the not-so-charming man at the counter shrugged his shoulders and said prices had gone up! When I said I wouldn't be coming back, as that is a ridiculous sum, he merely shrugged his shoulders again. Christine herself witnessed this conversation, and didnt say a word. Needless to say, I wont be going back, and having lived intermittently in this neighbourhood for over 30 years, I am telling everyone I know... PS my amazing former groomer - in Rosedale no less- charged less then these folks did BEFORE they raised their prices. Gee, who knew OOS was so posh? Next thing you know, I'll be spotting Jeanne Beker on our streets!
