This was a terrible experience!…read more First the driver arrived 30 minutes early, but did not have anything set for my mother-in-law to get into the van. He was just sitting inside texting on his phone after he called us to come outside. I had to knock on his window to get the wheelchair to transport her. Then when leaving, I pullled aside to wait for him, but the driver just flew past me, speeding. I was not able to catch up until the stop light. At a different light the driver pulled into the right lane, barely missing another car, to catch a light and sped through. I did not see the transport again until I reached the destination, where my mother-in-law was unconsolable and my wife was upset and still shaking because she didn't feel safe. When I confronted with the driver about his aggressive driving and that he was transporting an elderly woman in a wheelchair, he said "I needed to go the speed of traffic otherwise I could have gotten a ticket" which was a frustrating response since I was in the same traffic and going the speed limit. I would never use this company again, the drivers are reckless and dangerous!

I just had to terminate the services of Lighthouse Healthcare. They were providing aides to help…read moretake care of my 87 year old mother. The aides were caught more than once sleeping on the hob during the day shift, they were late on many days and the aides kept nagging us to hire them outside of the service. The final straw came when an aide failed to arrive for her all day shift this past Wednesday. Then, the same evening, the aide arrived more than an hour later. We were paying them about $10,000 a month for aide services. Imagine the "care" one would get from them if we were a smaller client.

I would not recommend this agency. We found that many of their caregivers were not professional…read moreand often spent most of their time on their phones. My Mother didn't require a great deal of assistance but she certainly deserved a caregiver who was engaging. All of the nighttime care that they provided slept the entire time, every night. I know this because we had cameras set up which we notified the agency of. We had a few caregivers who were lovely, but often time we had to ask for substitutions. When my Mother passed they didn't even have the decency to reach out to us. Even when I text one of my contacts with The Key to notify them of this I still never heard a single word. It is clear that they are a business and care more about making money then the care they provide. Very disappointed.

There is no question of when the aide arrives or departs as the aide must "clock-in" and "clock-out" using the homephone of the patient. My son's support coordinator contacted Assured for respite care for my adult son who is autistic…read more The care was for one day so that I could have an urgent medical procedure I was told to contact Assured and I spoke to the contact person. She asked me to call her the next morning. This was on a Monday and my procedure was scheduled for Thursday. I did call her the following morning and she said she would call me later in the day She did not call me even though she knew I wanted to schedule a time on Wednesday for the caretaker to make a home visit and meet my son so I would not have to leave him in the care of a stranger By 630 am Wednesday morning I was 24 hours away from my scheduled procedure and emailed the support coordinator that I could no.longet longer wait to be contacted by Assured and had made other arrangements. At 3:25 pm that day I was contacted by Assured from the parking lot of my building for a home visit that had never been scheduled and that I was no longer available for. The woman from the agency raised her voice to me and was argumentative but still expected to be let into my home. It was a traumatic experience for me just 24 hours before my procedure and a heartless way to be treated. I had to give this review a star in order for it to be posted but what they really deserve is a giant X.
