I come here often with various pumps and boots, and always happy with service. I've also been bringing my son's toddler and little kid tennis shoes for RE-Velcro-ing, and it triples the life of his shoes! Can't remember a time I haven't been satisfied with the work. Always coming back. read more

Doctor's Shoe Repair - Shoe Repair Near Me - Houston, Texas

Depends on the level of work required, small jobs only. My shoe came unglued almost immediately.

Owner of shop I assume... is rude and smokes and blows smoke in your face. He ruined my shoes completely and refuses to own up to it... I have him benefit of doubt and let him fix again after he begrudgingly said it was his fault. He didn't do anything but worsen it. The shoes I sent in just had a few scuffs I wanted off but instead I got a new color with glue leaking out. The scuffs are still there. The owner lunged at me also and attempted to grab my neck and repeatedly called me a "SOB" in Korean. this was after a customer walked in and saw what he did to my shoes and he blamed me for a customer seeing his work and leaving. now I just have messed up shoes. Heels pictured are not mine but one he showed me to show his "amazing" work. I left after he went and grabbed some sort of shoe repair metal tool that I presume he was going to attack me with... he started to get very violent read more

In this throwaway world, it's easier to buy a new pair of shoes than to take care of the ones you own. I found this little shop on yelp and the man can do it all. He will rebuild your shoes but all I needed was a couple of pairs of laces of the appropriate size some brown polish and a brush. He had it all available. Everything for less than $20. Very pleasant gentleman. Please use this place and keep him in business! read more

Will not be coming here again . First and the last . Came here with a pair of heels and only one heel had a strap that popped out from under the sole of the platform. Allowed them to keep both shoes just so they could be together and wouldn't be lost . I am now back to find that my good shoe's sole is completely apart from the platform, while the shoe that came for repair was glued together with glue coming out the seems. Ofcourse the owner tried to argue with me about how it was "bad" when I brought it in . As if I wouldn't have simply asked for the shoe to be fixed if it was really damaged . read more

I should have listened to the reviews. But I wanted to give a mom and pop business a chance. I took in my backpack with a broken zipper. We negotiated a price that I still think is too high, but again, trying to support a small business. I leave a $20 deposit with the wife and come back 3 weeks later to pick up the backpack and pay the other $40. The husband shows me the repaired backpack and the zipper is definitely low quality, but it works. The problem is that where they gripped the leather on the ends of the zipper and along the seam, they completely ripped and destroyed the fabric. I showed the husband this and he had a hard time communicating with me. The leather is literally crumbling when I touch it. I drew it closer to me to see and he YANKED it out of my hands and began yelling at me. He would not give it back and told me to come back Monday to talk to his wife. He would not negotiate a lesser rate for getting the backpack back damaged. I left the backpack there, I had no choice. Do NOT give this place your business. read more

I have a pair of beige suede booties that I absolutely love, but they have definitely been worn over the years. I wasn't ready to part ways, so I looked at places to clean suede shoes and Doctor's Shoe Repair popped up on Yelp. This place is a little hole in the wall off Gessner run by the kindest Asian man (who doesn't speak English very well- but still gets the job done). He cleaned my beige booties from being black back to the original color. I knew they weren't going to be perfect, but I was not expecting such great results. I'm going to him from now on. Give this man your business, you won't be disappointed. read more

I was in the spring branch area for a wedding and the strap of my shoe came off. Since I was a bridesmaid it was impossible to find the pair I purchased online. We had called a few shoe hospitals around the area and the quote they gave me cost more than my shoes and I wouldn't be able to get it till next day or so. As we were driving down Gessner, I spotted the shoe repair and checked it out.. And 2 hours later, she saved the day! Did I mention she charged me for a reasonable price too! Defiantly coming back for future repairs, I just wished I didn't live too far. read more

I had been putting off giving TLC to my favorite pair of boots for fear that they would come back in worse shape. I couldn't put it off any longer and decided to take my chances at Dr. Shoe Repair. It's a hole in the wall, run by an elderly Korean man. He took a look at the boots and exclaimed that they needed a lot of work but was determined that they could be fixed. A week after I dropped them off, I called to see if they were ready and they were! On time and to originally quoted cost. He performed miracles on my boots! My once totally worn soles have been replaced by sturdy new ones, seamlessly integrated to look like the first day I bought them. He also somehow hid the holes that were on the side of my boots, cleaned, and buffed them (extra cost) which helped with the overall sheen. I'm overall very satisfied with the workmanship and feel good that such craftsmanship still exists in small business today. I will be coming back here for all of my shoe repair needs! read more

My mother dropped her boots off and returned at the end of the week and was told they could not find her boots. While she was there, another customer came in, walked around the desk, picked up a pair of shoes and left. She also saw someone running out the back of the shop when she entered. I had to visit the shop with the police, and still no solution. I am going to pursue the issue in civil court action against the shop because this needs to stop. While I was there trying to reclaim the boots, the owner answered the phone twice and told the patrons to come look for their own shoes. The shop is dirty, disorganized, and I am convinced it is a scam to steal people's belongings. I like to support small businesses, but they must be reputable. I strongly suggest NOONE do business with this shop; read the other low rated reviews. There is no way this can be rated 4.0 stars unless they have inflated the ratings with family or friends. read more

I busted the heel on my favorite boots and needed them repaired ASAP. With limited cold weather/boot wear days in hot as hell Houston, I like to maximize my boot wearing time. I quickly looked up a repair place on yelp and the reviews are right on with the quality of the service. I dropped off my boots a couple days before New Year's Eve having totally unrealistic expectations about getting them repaired before the holiday. I was understanding when the sweet lady informed me that the boots would be repaired and ready to pick up 5 days (3 business days later). I prepaid for the repair (about $17-$18) and then was on my way. My only problem with the completion date was that I was out of the area for meetings the following week,so it was impossible to pick up the boots during the hours of operation. So, I ended up waiting until the next weekend. When I returned to pick up my boots, I gave the nice lady my claim ticket and she quickly located my boots and then I was on my way. I noticed they buffed/cleaned the shoes, which was a really nice bonus. Since the boots originally set me back about $250, I had no problem dropping less than $20 to keep them in good shape. If I ever need shoe repairs again, I will be sure to bring my items here -just keeping in mind the hours of operation and my schedule with picking them up. Overall, I was very pleased with the service. read more

Negative 5 stars. First time here and never coming back. I believed in the good reviews and came here. I brought a nude high heel shoe that had scratches on the back of the heel. They should have told me they could not do it. Instead, it took 3 trips to come pick up the shoe within a 3 week timeframe with them saying the shoe is not ready yet. They should have let me know that it was not ready before I came to the store on the promised date each time. Wasted my valuable time. Anyhow, what's worse is how the shoe looked after the repair. No apologies and they expected payment, which I did pay. This shoe is going in the garbage now. I thought it looked absolutely awful and am appalled they thought it looked fine. You be the judge of how "good" a repair they did. I will post the pic. read more

Doctor's Shoe Repair - High heel nude shoe that was repaired. Awful work! - Shoe Repair Near Me - Houston, Texas

Over the years, I've had different things done here, so this is a "longitudinal" review of Doctor's Shoe Repair. I've had luggage repaired, purses, high heels, shoes reheeled. Now, if they think they cannot do a good job, or it's just not worth it (quality of underlying materials, etc.), they will tell you. The language barrier may deter some, but they can understand what you want. The prices are reasonable, turnaround quick. Yeah, it's a REAL shabby strip center in dire need of repaving and a face-lift, but hey, you're not buying the strip center! read more

This has got to be the absolute sweetest man I have ever met in my entire life! Fixed my shoe for $5 in less than 24 hours! I have a pair of Sanitas clogs that I wear every single day. My feet are bad and I NEED to be in these shoes! One of the sides started to split and I needed to get it restitched. All of the shoe places I called said 5 days or a week, because they send them out. Doctor's fixes them in house, though! I dropped my shoe off around 5pm on Friday, and picked it up at 2 pm the next day. And the repair was only $5! Love them. read more

So I went to pick up my husband's boots from this place. It was supposed to cost $35, as written on the claim ticket. However, the woman there insisted I had to pay $45, because they were "hard to clean." Seriously? I was in a hurry, so I paid -- but who wants to do business with someone who doesn't honor the price they quote? I could not get away with that in my line of work. Take your business elsewhere. I certainly plan to. read more

I took 2 pairs of my husband's dress shoes to this shop not knowing fully what to expect. The shop is a little messy, but the man does an amazing job with shoes! It took him two days to repair the heel of these dress shoes, he matched the colors perfectly, everything was smooth, and he polished the shoes for pick up. This man loves his shoes and knows what he is doing. I would highly recommend going here - very reasonable prices. I paid about $18.99 for each pair of shoes to get the heels fixed. read more

I took a risk on this place. They stole the silver medallions off my boots and then tried to act like I lost them before I came in. I recommend taking a picture of your things before dropping them off if you are still going to risk it. I would give them 0 stars if I could. read more

Doctor's Shoe Repair - You can see where they took the silver roses off my boots and then pretended like I lost them. Terrible people. - Shoe Repair Near Me - Houston, Texas

Super disappointed. Came here based on the rave reviews with a simple broken zip on a suitcase for a friend who was visiting for the week and had it damaged by TSA at the airport. These guys not only broke the zipper further, but replaced the zips without asking (we had the current parts that match the lock, it just needed realignment) and lost one of the current zips. It took us over an hour to have them find it so we can have it fixed elsewhere. If something is difficult to repair, he shouldn't have gone further in attempting to repair it beyond what we asked for and only damaging an expensive suitcase even further. What's worse is he never called during the week to say he had an issue and that he couldn't do it, in which case we would've picked it up and tried elsewhere. My friend then had to scramble to get a new suitcase so she could fly home all the way to New Zealand as hers was beyond working. read more

I dropped off a briefcase with a brass zipper that I've take to 2 other prominent shoe repair/luggage repair shops in Houston, but the zipper continued to malfunction. I took my item to Doctor's Shoe Repair a little before closing on a Thursday and picked it up 2 days later on Saturday afternoon. The repair was complete, very nicely done and I really appreciate the owner turning this around very quickly for me for a very fair price. I highly recommend this place. D.T. Houston, TX read more

I'm bummed to write a less favorable review, but I was disappointed with my service here. I dropped off three pairs of shoes: two pair of boots needing the heels fixed, and one pair of nude heels with a worn heel. I also needed the lining fixed in one of the boots. I asked if the nude heels could be buffed; he said yes. He told me I could pick them up Friday. I got a call saying they weren't going to be done Friday, was Saturday ok? I said sure. I came in Saturday, they weren't done. I was busy that week so I came in the following Saturday, and they gave me back my boots but had lost my nude heels. I had to go behind the counter and point them out. They weren't buffed, and when I asked about it they told me they couldn't buff them. My heels were fixed very well on all three shoes, but the lining wasn't fixed on one of my boots. So I had to come back, again. I came back an hour later and it was finally done. The couple is very nice, but I wouldn't come back here - especially not if I need my shoes done in a certain amount of time. read more
