For over a decade I went to a business that was around the corner from my home in Fern Creek - after another company acquired them. I knew it was time for a change. Two business later, I can honestly say Mooney EyeCare Center is and will always be my forever home for my eyes. The staff was extremely efficient and friendly. I felt welcomed and comfortable as soon as I walked through the doors. I love the decor! The waiting rooms and the exam rooms all have the same artistic floor that relaxes you and puts you at ease. There was no wait to get placed into an exam room and the wait for my eye doctor was minimal. My optometrist was Dr. Hargus. His eye examination was thorough and he asked appropriate questions as needed. Dr. Hargus was extremely knowledgeable, speaks very clearly and made direct eye contact when discussing my eye assessment with me. He was also friendly. I was please with his demeanor and intelligence. I have found my new forever home for my eye health. I strongly recommend Mooney EyeCare Center

I started having intractable, constant nausea, relentless dizziness and vision problems. For over 4 years. The VA blew me off when they couldn't find out why and accused me of hypochondria. Dr Percal from John Kenyon saw me when my eye suddenly went blank. She referred me to Dr Bowersox. He knew exactly what was wrong right off the bat. The second he put the prisms in my lenses, the nausea disappeared. My visual disturbance is getting worse but Dr Bowersox actually listened to me. His replacement listened too. My prescription glasses were not working for me. I was surprised when Dr Borders showed me pictures of my retina which shows a serious issue. He asked if my previous Dr said anything about this or about my cataracts. No he didn't. He said everything was OK. Dr Borders said I am on verge of losing sight in one eye, plus I definitely need my cataracts removed. I am glad that he was truthful and direct with me. He immediately got me an appointment with a retina specialist as well as a cataract doctor. I now feel like I am on right track to save and improve my vision, thanks to Dr Borders.
