This is the EXACT type of motel I look for when I'm traveling! Great location. Great location. No frills. Low price. Seriously, who travels to stay in a hotel room? This is right next to the Cedar Key "strip". It has views of the fishing pier and it packs a lot of character. You can walk to everything in Cedar Key. It's also very reasonably priced. If you like having our Ah0l kissed and/or enjoy all-inclusive vacations...you should probably avoid this place at all costs. If you like homey old motels and saving some dough for the things you'll be doing outside of the motel: this is your place!

The worse accommodations ever! Starting with our reservations for a room with king bed and gulf view. Made a month in advance and confirmed a week before arrival. When we arrived our reserved room was not available as it was occupied. We were given a room with a queen bed & view of the bridge construction in back. The door to the room had handle broken and no lock that worked. Bed was hard as the floor. Light fixture had no light bulbs. No chairs at the plastic table. Curtains was only sheer so at night the room was brightened by car lights crossing the bridge. Woke at middle of night with loud door pounding and yelling outside of our door. While descending the steep stairs we met the people as they were checking into our reserved room across the hall. They had reserved a handicap room which had been given to someone else and they were given the room across the hall that should have been our original reserved room. The room was suppose to have a coffee maker which it did not. The desk clerk said they stopped providing them a year ago and have not got around to changing their website to reflect this change. The carpet was filthy and looked as though not cleaned in quite a while. No sanitizing the room at all. No parking. Ceiling fan was missing a blade so was unusable. Several guests complained about not getting the room they reserved. We tried to relocate to another motel but all were booked so we had to stay at this disappointing motel. No WIFI as promised. Paint peeling off the dirty walls. Smoke alarm was missing. Very disgusting place and recommend all to avoid this dump

    Great towels ... stained also.

This place may have been nice at one time but it isn't anymore. It is bad. I don't care how inexpensive a place is and I do not need fancy but this place is in need of serious help. Great location. It's a shame because it could be a nice little place in a great little town. To say it needs a lot of TLC is putting it mildly

Nice view of the fishing pier.

Can't beat the price or location; Walking distance to everything. We had a minor maintenance issue w/ our toilet (water running continuously) & owner popped by & fixed quickly. He was very friendly. Would certainly return & recommend.

This may be the best deal in western Florida during the week. $59.95 for one person, Sunday through Thursday, more on Friday and Saturday nights, but not rediculously so. It's not new or fancy, but it is clean and inexpensive and located on the best spot on the island, right across from the fishing pier within a very short walk to most of the restaurants and shopping. . With only 11 rooms it can fill up and parking is on the street, but if you can get one and don't need a lot of amenities, you'll be pleased. As a plus, the manager and his family are nice folks.

It was a one bed, one bathroom that had a sitting area, kitchenette, and balcony. We first noticed how clean the room was. In general, that was true but I found random pieces of hair that weren't ours in the bathroom, on the couch, and who knows where else. My toddler daughter had a long strand of someone else's hair wrapped up in her hair so if may have come from the floor or the couch. That was a little bit of a turn off. The sleep accommodations were nice. The bed was comfortable and there was more than enough room for two adults and a toddler. We loved that the porch was screened in as we enjoyed being out there. There was ample parking in a carport just below the unit. The location is great. While the town is small, this place was steps away from two breakfast spots, the local pizza restaurant, and several shops. It's also a very short walk to Dock Street, where the Harbour Master Suites office and their Dilly Dally Gally is, along with other restaurants and bars. While the place could use a little more attention to detail with cleaning, overall, we enjoyed our stay and the check-in and checkout process was quick. I would be interested to return at some point to see what the room options are like at the main site.

Had a choice of eating in the bar , the dining room or outside. We chose the dining room and glad we did. Overall all our service was very good. The server was friendly ( and very busy handling a lot of tables). I had an 8oz filet which was very good. I ordered it medium ( light pink center) and it cane out true Pittsburgh rare ( charred outside but rare inside- see pics) I was actually ok with it .... I order medium for my wife to have a couple bites even though I prefer more med rare. So this was def rare inside but I loved it ( I cut her a small end piece that was cooked a little more ) The steak comes with a salad, a vegetable and potato ( a lot of restaurants everything is alacarte - so for $40 for a prime 8oz filet with those sides included .... Not bad. Wife had shrimp and grit cake which is a large appetizer ( she had as her meal). Also had stuffed mushrooms to start that were very good. I think the town of Cedar Key will prob be one and done for us. Wanted to see it , it's quaint , old Florida ... but prob wouldn't come back. ( but only because we just wanted to check it off of a long list of Florida towns to visit) Pro tip: they don't take American Express , odd for a linen table cloth type of place .... So , it's ok to leave home without it

The outside was pretty full and we thought about sitting out there, but the idea of the bugs getting me later pushed us back inside. by the time we left at 6:40, there were only 3 other tables occupied in the dining room. We had a good dinner, although in reading some of the other reviews, we might have had the same server who seemed to be very slow and big gaps in between visiting our table - she seemed to disappear. I had the Calypso pasta with scallops, which was great. We had the stuffed mushrooms to start, which were yummy, but only 3. and my husband had a snapper fish of the day dish. He also enjoyed the pecan pie. And I enjoyed his ice cream. I was not a fan of any of the cocktails, so just had a glass of wine. My husband had the almond joy/mounds martini, whatever it was called, and he liked it a lot.

I had never been to Cedar Key, and was very excited. Pulling up to the B&B was a little magical. It was painted in pretty pastels, and we parked in front of their beautiful fenced in yard. It had majestic trees, and such an incredible, inviting vibe. Our room, Ms. Ida"s room, was beautifully decorated and inviting. It was large enough for our dog's large crate without making us feel cramped. The bathroom even had a beautiful claw footed tub. It was centrally located so we basically walked everywhere without issue. The Gulf of America was right there, and we really enjoyed watching the pods of dolphins frolick each night. The breakfast was delicious! We had a "Zippy", sausage and homemade biscuits. The Zippy was like a little southwestern quiche. Best of all were the people running this B&B. Heather and Cindi couldn't have made us feel more welcome, important, and frankly, loved! They were so kind and engaging, and totally doted on my dog. Dock Street and all... but I really didn't even need to leave. It was very peaceful and relaxing and exactly what I was looking for. This BnB has it all. Charm, wonderful homemade breakfasts, friendly staff, great rooms... mine was on the 2nd floor and had its own private large balcony, accessible from the only other door up the stairs, next to the door to my room. The grounds were beautiful. I spent a good amount of time there. For just coffee, then breakfast, just before sunset in the afternoons... even just overlooking the grounds from the back porch. I walked around and looked at the different kinds of flowers... Alice pretty much does most of the landscaping. I spoke with Alice a good bit while enjoying breakfast in the garden one morning... very sweet and friendly, she truly loves the property and cares about her guests. It was my birthday weekend and my cousin and aunt contacted the BnB and spoke with Amanda. Amanda is who greeted me when I first arrived. She wished me a happy birthday and it took me some time before I figured out how she knew that. LOL When she showed me my room, I only asked about shampoo, she said because my hair was long, she guessed a 2 in 1 type of shampoo wouldn't suffice and I said, if it's something like Pantene, it would! After I returned from my afternoon out and about, there was a bottle of Pantene sitting on the decorate table outside my room. I'm not sure that it was readily available or if she actually went and bought it...but I was certainly appreciative and used it immediately. The next morning, after she read my notes on food issues (no chocolate, no almonds....) she had to ask me at breakfast what I couldn't eat again because my aunt and cousin requested gluten and dairy free, chocolate brownies to surprise me! I can and do eat gluten and dairy...but no chocolate. Amanda had in fact found gluten and dairy free brownies! They would have been wonderful...if I could eat them. Instead, she went out of her way once again and found me a vanilla cake on the fly... dressed it with hibiscus flowers and candles. She was very sweet and we talked for a while as well. Goes to show you how much they enjoy and appreciate what they do and the people they do it for. I enjoyed staying at this BnB, it encompasses old Florida and the local culture and I would definitely stay here again!
