It's so easy to just walk past here, look at the donut offerings they have and then get yourself a dozen of them just because they're so darn colorful. Well, add in the fact that they're also very delicious and unique and honestly I'm sold! My first time here was actually in 2019 when they still had long lines for getting their mochi donuts and the horrendously long lines would go outside Uwajimaya. Since then, I've come back to this location and the one in Tukwila many other times, and I see that they usually rotate their flavors. For this particular visit, I got tempted and got a dozen mochi donuts for me and my family to eat. Flavor wise, I aways love the matcha Oreo and any strawberry-flavored donuts, and I usually do a toss-up on all the other flavors. Texture wise, these donuts are always firm, chewy and fun to pick apart bit by bit. They're better than Mochinut by far in my opinion, as I can also keep Dochi's donuts for one or two days max in their box, while the same can't be said for Mochinut's from my experience getting each kind many times. Dochi's donuts are also far more mochi-like than Mochinut's. This place doesn't have the long lines that it used to have, but honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they did, they're just so tempting to have! Just by writing this review, I think I wanna get some next time I go...
Amazing first and only ever mochi donuts my wife and I tried. We decided to tailgate at Uwajimaya last year before a Seahawks game as it was my Japanophile wife's favorite place in Seattle. We were glad to see stands in the food court that were new and included mochi donuts and fish waffles for breakfast before the game that we enjoyed with both Asian and regional PNW beer.
I tried Dochi for the first time today and absolutely loved them! I can't wait to go back! Dochi is a lovely combination of mochinut and traditional American donuts. The flavor is absolutely amazing. It is a moist flavor on the inside like a mochinut and a little bit of a crunchy flavor on the outside like a traditional American donut. They have a rotating flavor menu. Today, I tried the cookie butter and churro flavors and both were absolutely delicious! The store is inside of Uwajimaya and it is very nice and modern. It has a very hip and modern vibe. They have seating that is shared with other restaurants that are in the Uwajimaya food court. The customer service was excellent and the staff were very nice and helpful! I definitely recommend Dochi to satisfy your sweet tooth and for awesome flavors!
Dochi was wonderful! I had a Ube cream iced coffee drink and it was so satisfying getting this drink in Seattle and coming from a place where we lacked Asian fusion food! Dochi has other snacks like donuts, etc too. However, in this occasion I just got the drink because it was something I was looking to refresh myself. I actually quite liked the drink and it wasn't way too sweet for me. There wasn't any spot to really sit to enjoy a cafe vibe though as this was just one of the shop in Uwajimaya's food court. Definitely would stop by again (maybe next time I will switch and try something new out like Pandan cream iced coffee!) to get some drinks when I'm in the area next!
A cute fun twist named Dochi sells Vietnamese-style drinks and mochi donuts that all are very unique in flavor and style. This store is inside next to a supermarket and a food court area. Found it just by walking inside and wandering around. From the display, I wanted to check it out and order a mochi donut and also a drink. I had the pandan cream drink which has a nice flavor of pandan inside of it. I also ordered a dobut which at the time I believe was seasonal. It was pumpkin because I do love pumpkin on everything! Overall everything was delicious! Can't wait to come back here for sure.
Mochi donuts were all the craze a few years back but since then, I haven't really discovered great mochi donuts until now. We were shopping at Uwajimaya and decided to get some ofdonuts from here, so we picked up a box of half dozen donuts for $15, so about $2.50 per donut. They have unique flavors like Taro Pebbles, Coffee Red Velvet, Ube Glazed, and Matcha Oreo. All of them had such distinct flavor as well as great chewy texture you can expect from a mochi donut. I didn't find any of the flavors to be overly sweet either. Our box of donuts were so good, we couldn't help but finish them all in one sitting!
I was very disappointed by my strawberry lychee refresher. You couldn't adjust ice or sweetness, and the whole thing was about 25% ice. It also made getting the lychee jelly at the bottom extremely difficult. The drink itself tasted like strawberry syrup and water rather than actual strawberry juice. Ambiance was nice!
Mochi turned into doughnut's is a a WINNER! When in Seattle visit the Uwajimaya Asian Market, don't be surprised if you feel not just at home but that you're in a different country right in the heart is Seattle, Washington! Now this review isn't about the market so let's get back to Dochi. I you like Mochi you'll love Dochi! There are multiple choices of flavors and you will not go wrong with whatever you choose. My suggestion is to spend $17 and buy multiple or you can buy a half dozen for a little less money. Also the customer service is great! Very nice and patient people. I wouldn't worry about ambiance because this is a market with multiple stores including a grocery store and a bookstore. One tip: GO EARLY. They close at 5pm, the doughnuts willl be gone before then.
A mochi donut place in the middle of the Uwajimaya food court. I went around 3:30 pm so sadly the donut that I got was stale. :( Still semi-chewy and the flavor was good. The taro pebbles flavor is a fun, sugary, fruity choice. Just disappointingly stale, like they'd been sitting out all day. I've had mochi donuts the next day from other places and they didn't even taste as stale. Quick service, fairly loud and busy food court. Next to a bunch of other restaurants, the manga store, and the grocery store.
Dochi is a Mochi Doughnut Stand located in a very nice Asian Grocery Store's food court section. The menu is limited to basically only Mochi doughnuts, but they have an impressive variety of flavors. The servers are all very kind and you are served immediately from the display that they have so this all takes just a minute. After you receive your doughnut, you can either enjoy the seating in the food court area and maybe pick up some food from the other stands or you can take it to go like a lot of people seemed to be doing. The food court is nice, nothing particularly special, but a good place to chill and hang out. I decided to go with the Matcha Oreo one and it was fantastic, sweet, and with a very chewy interior. I highly recommend this place and trying a Mochi doughnut if you've never had one.
I love Mochi donuts, and unfortunately, for me, Dochi's doughnuts do not meet the ones I've had at other locations. Service was fast and not a long line. I ordered the Ube Donut. I wanted to try the Taro, but it had drizzle that I didn't want. The Ube was ok. It didn't have too much of the Mochi consistency. Overall, it's good if you haven't had it before.
Solid spot for mochi donuts and it's located in the Chinatown-International District! It's inside the Uwajimaya Food Hall, so make sure to enter where you see the sign for this; it's not a stand-alone store. The line was virtually non-existent on a Saturday afternoon, while the line at Mochinut was out the door. I know Mochinut is a bigger chain, but Dochi deserves more hype! Also, shoutout the lady working at the register. She was super helpful when I was asking her for directions to another location. We got the Strawberry Pocky and Taro Pebbles! Wow! These were great. Definitely recommend the Taro Pebbles. I loved how the crunch of the Fruity Pebbles paired with the taro flavor. If we were hungrier, we definitely would have gotten a half dozen. I think this is the way to go because you can sample all the flavors.
Was shopping in Uwajimaya, and felt the need for a little sweet snack. Got the Tamago Sando, a Cinnamon Toast Crunch mochi donut, and a Yuzu Peach Refresher. The egg salad sandwich was good, but could've used some salt and pepper. The Cinnamon Toast Crunch donut was also good, as expected. I like the texture of these mochi donuts. I gave the Yuzu Peach Refresher to my bf, and he just gulped it down; he loved it. Staff was friendly; would come again if I'm back at this Uwajimaya.
TLDR: small donut shop. Satisfying chew. Not too sweet. You will want more than one. Great for sharing! Not true Mochi. Located on the end of the food court in Uwajimaya. Street parking or Uwajimaya parking. You can take your receipt to an Uwajimaya register to have Uwajimaya parking validated. Service: order and pay at the register, you will be handed your order and it will be boxed. Contrary to Mochi belief, these donuts are not comprised of the glutinous chewy rice balls we all know and love as Mochi. Instead, they are just a regular donut with a slightly chewier texture. Donuts are all served room temperature (which was a bit disappointing) and are light, fluffy, and slightly chewy. A carb addict's dream come true. The toppings are not overwhelmingly sweet and the best part is the fact that each donut can be broken up into 8 individual Mochi balls to pop into your mouth to enjoy. A great flavor sharing experience amongst friends and family! If I had to pick flavors, I'd go with Matcha Cookie and Ube Glazed. Not only because they are novel compared to you typical donut flavor, but because they actually taste like they are supposed to--not too sweet and not too overpowering. read more
Dochi - mochi donuts. I was really excited to try this place out, with all the hype there is about it. I heard about this place from my co worker, saying she wanted to go there to get some mochi donuts and I was curious about the taste after seeing all of the pictures. There is always a line there but the line moves pretty quick. Be careful though, the line is outside not inside. How it works is, there are specific flavors for each day and you are only allowed up to a dozen per person. 1 donut I 3$, half a dozen is 16$ and a dozen is 32. I got half a dozen just to try out each flavor they had at the time. I got fruity pebbles, black sesame, ube glazed, churro and matcha. All of them tasted good, but I especially loved the fruity pebbles! And I also love how soft it tasted overall. I wouldn't get this often as it is kind of pricey but it is worth it. Heyyyy a solid Mochi Donut in Seattle! Not gonna lie had some doubts coming here. My favorite donut is Mr Donut in Japan, and that is the absolute bar for mochi donuts, but Dochi surprised me with how good it was. Swung in on Sunday night and grabbed half a dozen. 1 of each flavor, and will say that the ube one is my favorite. Less is more people! No need for all the extra toppings, this is the one to get here. While not as fluffy and light as Mr Donut these ones definitely are a solid mochi donut, and actually better than a few of the places I've tried in SF and LA. The only downfall here most people will have is that its pretty damn pricey. I think it was $3 a donut that night, could be wrong, but getting a half dozen / dozen ends up saving you a good chunk. In the end Seattle has a legitimate place for good mochi donuts, but it's just going to come at a price. Try this! read more
Being from California, we have some good mochi donut spots. To be honest MoDo is still the best but this is still very good! They have unique flavors and the line goes by quick. I got the taro pebbles flavor and my friend got matcha Oreo. If I wasn't so full I'd get the churro flavor to try also! I am not sure if there are many mochi donuts in Seattle but I can imagine this would be one of the top spots for a good mochi donut. read more
Sooo I was craving donuts and there aren't many options for donuts mid day in downtown seattle so we tried mochi donuts and they were sooo good! Lot of unique flavor and options So I would try a few here. It's inside this little mall with other food options so was pretty cool to explore. Would come back here! read more

The Instagram factor on these beauties is definitely a 5/5 but I'd give the flavor a 3/5 and the texture a 4/5. The ube dochi didnt taste like it was flavored at all but the matcha one was delicious. If you haven't had a dochi yet, give it a try - the texture is fun and unique! They also have some fun flavors. read more

I have been wanting to try Dochi for some time now. I tried to avoid the huge lines on weekend. I am so thankful for this rainy gray soggy Friday, this translated to NO Line for Dochi!!! Yay! I joyfully picked up the pretty ube Dochi. It's so pretty and cute! The doughy surface with chewy Mochi texture inside. I enjoyed the ube sweetness, pretty satisfying. If you like mochi texture, you will like Dochi! read more

I didn't wait in line. If you work nearby, and can get there before noon on a weekday, you'll probably have the same experience. Loved these: - taro pebbles - ube glaze Liked these: - strawberry - cookies & cream I would absolutely get the taro pebbles and ube glaze again! I need to go back for the matcha; that's the flavor I really wanted to try! I've never had mochi donuts, so I have nothing to compare to. But I love the flavors and texture. And service was good. I wish the Bellevue Uwajimaya had a Dochi! Driving a little extra to the Seattle location is definitely worth it though:) these are so fun to eat, easy to portion, and are very aesthetically pleasing! My favorite is the strawberry pocky and I wish I'd ordered a whole box of them! Their staff is quick, friendly, and sanitary. I went to Dochi on a Saturday afternoon and there was a pretty long line which was expected. I was expecting to wait in line for at least 30 minutes. However, they were really quick. I only had to wait in line for about 10 minutes. I have never tried these types of donuts before. But these donuts were very delicious. They are not overly sweet like other traditional donut shops. They were well fried with a soft chewy texture. I got one of each flavor that they had that day which was Ube glazed, Matcha Oreo, Strawberry Pocky, Caramel Twix, Hazelnut, and Taro pebble. If I went back again, I would get the Matacha Oreos and the ube glazed. The service was really quick which I like because I hate waiting and they were very kind. Beautiful donuts, totally Instagram worthy but flavors are kinda meh. Tbh I was kinda expecting it to be more like the Mr. Donut chain that I tried in Taiwan. The flavored donuts like ube were a little bland and I was personally not a fan of the toppings (fruity pebbles, pretzels, mini marshmallows) and found some of the toppings to be overwhelmingly sweet when the glaze was added. Texture wise, I felt like some were more stale than others but overall not bad. I do feel like it's catered more to the American taste though, especially with the toppings, which is appealing to some. Lots of better places for dessert in ID imo! read more

My mantra is I run to eat and indulge so desserts better taste good! These magical sounding pastries hit the spot. Super delicious donut rings shaped like a chunky pearl bracelet. Totally unique with that special Asian flair of being not too sweet but tinged with flavors that varies depending on your selection. At first bite the texture is chewy but soft and not too filling. These yummy pastries are addicting and fun to pull apart bead by bead before popping the pieces into your mouth. It's worth it to buy one of each flavor just to experience the different selections. My favorite is the cookies and dream because of the crumbles that somehow stick on the top and provide a crunchy texture. Will definitely return for more caloric obscenity. read more

Setting: It's located inside the Uwajimaya grocery store. It is a small stand and the line usually moves really quickly. Do you order and they package it up quickly for you. There are some tables inside the food court that you can sit down and eat at. Food: This dessert is a unique combination of sweetness, texture, chewiness, and shareability. Donuts are easily to rip apart so that everyone can try a piece. They have a lot of different flavors and they were all really good. Our favorites were the Ube, Matcha and strawberry flavored. They are slightly on the sweeter side but definitely not as sweet as a traditional donut. It is definitely chewier than a traditional donut but that's because of the flour that they use. I honestly prefer this to a regular donut. Value: For a dessert, it is slightly on the price your side but given its uniqueness and novelty, I think it is worth it. Service: Nothing to complain about. The servers were all very nice. Other: My husband and I even considered this place to cater desserts for our wedding. We ultimately ended up being too lazy to do it but I think it would be a great idea for any wedding. read more
I was at this store for its grand opening but sadly did not line up in time to try it then Here I am back in Seattle years later, and I finally got to try it in the Uwajimaya food court. The line was much shorter this time even on a Saturday afternoon. The person working the counter was very nice and fast, which I can always appreciate. The single donuts were $3.15 each I believe, and I tried the Ube Glazed and Matcha Pistachio flavors. Let me just say that the donuts were much prettier in person than in my photo. Ube Glazed was much milder in flavor as the ube is worked into the dough and there is a slight glaze over it. The Matcha Pistachio meanwhile had a much more solid coating of glaze/flavor on top, as well as a small sprinkle of pistachios. For both, I would say that the flavor is there but not too noticeable, and the dough has definitely got that chewiness that mochi donuts have. I appreciate that they are not as sweet as American donuts, but overall I think they would taste better with stronger flavors, because in the end they both just tasted like fried mochi dough. From what I remember when I had mochi donuts from Mochinut, I also think the dough was a bit tougher and dryer here, while I prefer a softer (albeit oilier) texture. Tl;dr flavor is mild but still a yummy treat! read more
there's not a lot that i can add to what has already been said by others. it's a true cross of a donut and mochi yet isn't greasy or overdone or sickeningly sweet. a couple of observations: i would definitely eat them the day of purchase and not try to extend their life; i could see that resulting in dry, chewier stale texture than mochi should be results. there are people complaining about the cost. if you've been to one of the quality donut establishments in either SEA or PDX, you're easily paying upwards of $4+ for a designer donut so the $3 for these seems fair. sure, i've lived in seattle for decades and have gotten used to the skyrocketing bougie food prices but the price of this didn't stun me. when i was there around noon on a saturday there was a tiny line and it went quickly. i suppose it all depends who long you're willing to wait for dochi--how much is it worth to you to experience mochi in donut form? i tried it. i liked it. i don't know i'll go out of my way to get it again yet i wasn't at all put off by it. it was an experience i chose and i'm no worse for wear. read more

Cute shop with unique donuts. The shapes and colors are fun and the donuts pretty tasty. The flavors weren't too strong or overly sweet like some donut places can get. A bit pricey but the taste is very good, way less greasy than normal donuts. The circular balls that make up the donut are oddly satisfying to eat in individual bites, in a row. It has a little chewy texture but I was expecting small piece of Mochi inside each doughnut ball hahaha... worth a try. Definitely different from your traditional Dunkin Donuts / Krispy Kremes. The spot is located in International District in Uwajimaya's food court. The donuts are $3 each or $18 for half a dozen. I will definitely be back to try the other flavors! read more

After seeing everyone walk around Seattle with boxes from here, we decided we had to stop by. The stand is really small, but the employees obviously are used to such long lines, so we didn't have to wait long. The menu is very clearly posted, so we were ready to order by the time we got to the front of the line. We had really high hopes for these donuts, but they were okay at best. They tasted good, but the flavors of ube and matcha weren't as strong as various other deserts that we had around the city. They also tasted like they had been sitting around all day, and from the amount of donuts sitting in carts, I'm guessing they had. The result was a cold, dry, and kind of tough donut. Overall, the donuts were absolutely adorable, and they did taste alright. Not my favorite stop, but a good place to go for a good Instagram photo. read more

I've been eyeing this place for a little while. I'm a huge fan of Mr Donut in Asia and had been thinking about mochi donut ever since I came back to the US from my holiday. I'm not the type of person who have the patience to wait in a long queue so that explains why I didn't trek my way down here ever since they opened, and we kinda avoid going to downtown on the weekends since we're in downtown for work everyday. Plus this place only opens 4 days a week from 11-2pm Thur-Fri and 12-6pm Sat-Sun, the hours just don't work for me.. until today. We happened to be driving back from the airport and it was an hour before they closed for the day so I exited just to get a half dozen of dochi exclusively. They are located right where the entrance to the food court would be. Super duper hole in the wall joint. There wasn't a long line when we arrived so we were ecstatic, plus the line moved very quickly. The price is $3 for a single dochi and $16 for half dozen. We got one of each flavors: Matcha Oreo, Taro Pebbles, Ube Glazed, Strawberry Pocky, Cookies & Cream with Cookie Butter, and Ube Bae. And since it was so close to closing, they gave us two extra dochis. We were so happy with the extras lol. I was aware of the mixed reviews prior coming here so I did set my expectation fairly low, specially after having tried Mr Donut previously. But actually, the dochi here was pretty good. It didn't blow me away per se, but it certainly satisfied my craving for a mochi doughnut. The texture is chewy like a mochi but combined with the crispy texture of a doughnut. For flavors, everyone likes different things. But my sister and I both love the Strawberry Pocky the most, and we both agreed that despite the simplest presentation, surprisingly the Ube Glazed tastes better than the Ube Bae. I also enjoyed the Ube Fruit Pebbles. The Cookies & Cream with Cookie Butter was too sweet for my preference whilest the Matcha Oreo was too bland. Overall, dochi was a pretty good buy. Is it worth a $3 per piece? Definitely not. But having a sweet tooth, I'd definitely stop by to check out their rotating flavors *if* the timing happen to work around my schedule again and I happen to be in the neighborhood. Also, some people mention about the difficult parking in Chinatown. You should definitely park in Uwajimaya parking lot and Dochi validate parking (unless you already spent hours in Uwajimaya without buying anything). read more
Mochi donuts are a thing of wonder. Unlike the old-fashion and yeast donuts, they are slightly crunchy on the outside yet still light and airy on the inside. Dochi cranks them out perfectly, with a good variety of flavors. Some of the glazes are a little too sweet for me, but that doesn't take away from the experience. For $3 per donut, I questioned my sanity. Then I told myself I'm also paying for this beautiful Tiffany-esque box that tells me "You Deserve This." True, once in a while. read more

First time having mochi donuts and they did not disappoint! They're airy and light at first and then become this chewy and soft texture. I got 1 dozen (2 of each flavor) for $28. The design on the box is a fun touch and the appearance of the mochi donuts are so cute! It's been 2 days and the donuts are still soft and chewy! Not soggy like others mentioned. It's definitely pricy but worth trying at least once. -Cookies n' cream w/cookie butter: my favorite! The oreo pieces were super soft and not crunchy but I kinda prefer that texture w/these donuts. Very sweet so if you don't have a sweet tooth I wouldn't recommend this one. -Cinnamon toast crunch: my 2nd fav! Tastes exactly like the cereal but even better! Super sweet. -Strawberry Pocky: Has that sweet strawberry cream taste. -Taro Pebbles: A good balance of sweet and crispy. -Matcha pistachios: Didn't really taste like matcha. -Ube glaze: Didn't really taste like anything? Mochi + Donut = Dochi! Finally got the chance to try out Dochi when I was visiting Seattle on a weekend afternoon. The line can get long, but the staff is quick and friendly at getting what you want. I ordered half a dozen of these donuts. Overall, I wasn't too impressed with them given the hype and price per donut. My favorite was the Oreo Matcha followed by the Ube Bae. As for the other flavors, I didn't find them too special or the stuck out compared to the others. They did a good job of making the donuts not too sweet, but just wish they stuck out more in flavor and chewiness. If you haven't tried mochi donuts before it's something to try! And they look great for pictures. But I wouldn't suggest it as a must try if you have had others before given the price. read more

This Dochi is located in Uwajimaya (the Japanese grocery store located in International District) but I believe there are other locations as well. There's a parking lot in front of Uwajimaya to get here, but note that you need to spend at least $10 to get your parking validated for about an hour or so. Also street parking available. Dochi is my current fav mochi donut place in Seattle! I've had mochi donuts from Hawaii and San Francisco, and I would say this is better than SF, not as good as Hawaii. My cousins came from SF and said that they liked this better than Mochill in SF. They even came back to get more mochi donuts!! I would say I prefer Dochi to Mochinut because Mochinut is a bit on the sweeter side with wackier flavors. Mochinut also tastes more like a donut vs. Dochi which tastes more chewy and more "mochi". I personally like the Ube Bae and Ube glaze - it's not just Ube icing but the donut is made out of Ube!! Matcha Oreo isn't bad either. read more
Dochi is located inside Uwajimaya's Food Village. There's a plethora of eats for you to explore here. Dochi's mochi donuts reminded me of my first experience with mochi donuts in Tokyo, Japan. The taste & texture of the donut was definitely there. I was fan of the Ube Bae donut more than the Fruit Pebbles. I found that the Fruit Pebbles were a bit dried out/stale tasting by the time it was made & sold at their store front. Looking forward to trying other flavors on my next visit! read more

HOLY DONUT BALLS! We promise you you're not ready for the softest, gooiest, cheewiest but will still melt in your mouth donuts. Within moments of putting the balls into your mouth they will be gone, and you'll be sitting there shoving another ball down your throat wondering how you're going to cope once the whole Mochi is gone. So, do yourself a favor - - go ahead and get a whole box, not just one. The Strawberry Pocky and Teddy S'mores taste like childhood. The Matcha Pistachio feels healthy but is OBVIOUSLY a treat you can easily overdose on. What is there to say about the Choco Churro?! Heaven on earth. The Ube Glazed? Perfect for when you need a moment to catch your breath and neutralize the sweetness. But, don't be fooled... you won't inhale these bad boys any more politely than you did the others. Not impressed, but GMonkey spoiled by Hawaii. Texture is definitely mochi, but all da flavor is the icing. Very much like MoDo Hawaii, in size and shape, but different flavor varieties. If you like paying $3 for one different donut, $16 fo 6... then this is fo you. Everything in Hawaii is more expensive than mainland, except this! Truly overrated place. I'm super happy to wait in line for a place I think is worth it, but sadly, this place does not make the cut. The people there are super nice (which is why I'm going with 2 stars) but the actual product is pricey, tastes like old oil, and lacks flavor overall. We got the glazed ube, matcha Oreo, and taro pebble. If you're here and have to choose one, I'd go for the taro pebble -- all of them aren't good in my opinion, but this one is the most bearable. If you want an "instagram-able" dessert, then this place would satisfy your needs! However, if you want a great tasting donut worth the $3/piece, look elsewhere. read more

I love mochinuts for their texture and chewiness and how they're unique. The strawberry pocky and cookies and dream flavors were amazing and i would definitely recommend trying a mochinut if you haven't! read more
Dochi is a great stop to fix your sweet tooth. Beware, the line may be long, but it's worth it. I decided to select a half dozen donuts and each one of them were delicious. Are these doughnuts gluten free?
Not all of their donuts are gluten free. Ask the associate at the counter.
How long is the shelf life? My mom wants me to bring some home for her.
It's not long. Sort of like a normal donut. Maybe a day? After two, I didn't want to eat them anymore. They get soggy. Honestly, I didn't think they were that good. I had much better ones in San Francisco.
