They were kind, patient, thorough, and genuinely listened to my concerns. They made every visit much more comfortable, and I truly appreciated the care they provided. Unfortunately, my experience with the dentist was very different. After having fillings done, I continued to have sensitivity and a rough feeling on one of my back teeth for months. I repeatedly brought up my concerns and was told everything looked fine. I even paid to have one of the fillings repaired because I was still having problems. After seeing a different dentist, I found out the roughness was actually caused by a chip in the tooth next to the filling that occurred during the original procedure. I will now have to have both fillings redone to correct the problem. I wish my concerns had been taken seriously instead of being dismissed. I was also disappointed with the front desk experience. The receptionist was not welcoming or particularly kind, which added to an already frustrating situation. I am grateful for the hygienist because they were excellent, but because of the dental treatment and how my concerns were handled, I cannot recommend this office.

The staff is super-super friendly, warm, and professional. The receptionist was very accommodating, the X-ray tech was friendly and meticulous, and the hygienist was likewise thorough and sociable. The equipment seems like the latest technology. As Christina D. mentions, the dental chairs have massaging backs (a pleasant surprise). Dr. Keider also used a laser imaging tool on my molars to see if there were any crevices that could harbor bacteria out of sight. They offer bottled water and sodas in the waiting area, and have a whole little refreshment section. The goodie bag was chock full, too, which, though unnecessary, is much appreciated by a tooth-obsessive like me. Toothbrush, toothpaste, Listerine, dental floss, dental picks - it's like a miniature drugstore! But the best things I can say are about Dr. Keider himself. His exam was very thorough. He checked my TMJ, lymph nodes, thyroid, and tongue in addition to my teeth. He told me exactly what he was doing during the examination, and genuinely and thoroughly answered all my questions. As Christine mentioned, no one tried to sell me anything; he basically said that my teeth look great and there wasn't anything he'd want to do to them. (They didn't even try to get me to do teeth whitening, which I know they offer, and which is practically requisite in dental practices. I appreciated that.) The only little picky complaints I'd have, aside from the booking error, would be that having Fox "News" playing in the waiting area was a real turnoff and that the hours of operation are pretty limited. (However, he's there at 7:30 am on Monday and Wednesday, so it's easy to get an appointment outside normal business hours.) I'd highly, HIGHLY recommend this office.

Dr Keider took X-rays, examined all my teeth and came up with two plans, the most affordable and the one that was as expensive as my car. It all came down to needing five root canals in additions to the missing smile teeth. I had to go with the least expensive options with possibility of implants in the future. Even though I chose the least expensive option, I was treated no differently. I explained my cPTSD and every effort was made to accommodate me. Apparently, everything is easy with nitrous oxide (great stuff!) It's taken a few months, extractions, fillings and a gentle cleaning but I am smiling again. I have two partials but my husband can't tell the 'new' teeth from my own -they are perfectly matched! It's a great comfort knowing that I can strike dental fear out of my life. I enthusiastically recommend Dr Keider and his staff to anyone regardless of what you need, this is a guy you have no regrets trusting.

First things, first. I have been a patient here for close to twenty years - through three different…read morepractice owners/dentists - and have always gotten great dental care. Brenda is probably the best hygienist I've ever been to. Personable and pleasant, thorough and knowledgeable - an all-around excellent hygienist. Dr. Settles is equally great. I cannot say enough good things about them or their treatment and skill level. The office staff, on the other hand, is abysmal. They routinely send out "bills" based on " insurance estimates", even after the participating insurance company has paid. Most recently I called to question a bill that both I and my insurance said was paid and that I owed nothing. This was the second time I received this bill and was now "past due." (Delta Dental told me it was paid within one week of my visit.) "Susan" initially took my call. Three different times I gave her my name and account number, and each time she tried linking me to a totally different patient. Finally, she transferred me to "Tina", the office manager. I have never been treated so rudely nor unprofessionally as Tina treated me. Tina first told me that the bill was automatically generated and there was nothing to be done about it. When I challenged her, she told me that was just the way it was and to ignore it. I pressed her by saying it needs to be fixed and that I did not want to end up in collections due to an automated erroneous "bill" (that is based on an estimate.) Again, Tina blew it off so I followed by saying that she knew there was error and wouldn't fix it, and that if I ended up in collections I reserved the right to sue for false billing; she/her office needed to fix this, that I was done dealing with it. Things went horribly sideways from that point on. Tina said she'd just "de-list" me and I'd never hear anything from them again. I replied by saying I had no intention of quitting the practice, only that I wanted the billing corrected. From that point onwards, Tina constantly over-talked me and wouldn't let me say anything. I tried telling her that I had already called Delta Dental, that Delta Dental told me I owed nothing, and that Wytheville Dental Group had been paid on June 21, 2023 for my June 14, 2023 office visit. I also kept trying to tell Tina that Delta Dental had provided a reference/event number. Tina kept over-talking me and wouldn't listen. I finally told her to "shut up and listen to me for just a minute." Tina then hung up the phone on me. I never got a chance to give her, nor anyone else, the reference number from Delta Dental. I tried calling back for the next fifteen minutes, but my calls were never answered. I can only presume Tina told the front desk to ignore my calls. I then reached out to Wytheville Dental Group via their Facebook page. Within an hour, someone named "Sherry" responded, saying she would call me "around 9 am" the following morning. Edited to add that Sherry is the overall practice manager. She called as promised, and was very professional and very apologetic, and she assured me that this issue will be addressed.
