Our water heater decided to crap out 2 nights ago and we didn't really realize it until yesterday when our water went from hot, to warm, to cold! With three kids and a newborn, not having hot water was not an option. This my first time using Yelp for plumbing services. Filled out the quote function and Cole was one of four that responded same day. I needed a plumber to replace my aging sink. Although I had to wait four days, it was worth it Cole and his helper did a fast and competent job. I bought the Kohler sink and Moen faucet since the wifey was particular about what she wanted. The sink was 1inch larger but not a problem for Cole. He did all the other supply line/drain hook ups, reattached my water dispenser, and applied silicone caulk around the edges. I'm impressed he finished the job after starting at 5:30pm. His pricing for this job was great. Cole explained to me that they were going to cut open the walls (tung and groove redwood) to my two bathrooms and tiled shower. I thought I needed to hire a carpenter to put the walls back and a tile man to repair the shower wall. You have to wonder how a plumbing company can tally up so many 5-star ratings. Five or ten 5-star ratings, good friends and family might have written them. But over 80? I got tired after reading about 20 or so, totally convinced these folks were worth a try, even though I'd never heard of them before. I never found less than 5-star (might be, I didn't go through them all). Each a continuing theme...honest, diligent, do what they promised when they promised, reasonable prices. Not what you expect these days. Definitely a cut above the better known companies that too often make you wish you never called them. We had water seeping from under a toilet base, presumably simple enough, a leaking seal, though it wasn't an easily accessible toilet, nor base. Of course it was found on a Friday night. I called and spoke to Cole very early Saturday morning, Wednesday was the earliest they could respond. I had a couple other plumbers I could have turned to for possible quicker repair, but something nudged me to wait since we have two other bathrooms as backups. As promised, the DIRP team arrived on time and went directly to work, did a very thorough check of the entire situation and quickly repaired the problem...a leaking seal. They also quickly repaired a leaky outdoor faucet. The team was professional, efficient, respectful of our flooring, took very thorough effort to comply with the current Covid-19 crisis requirements, and left the work area very clean. They were impressive. So how much do I owe you? You'll get the bill by e-mail. I did just a few minutes later. The price more than fair. Then Cole called to ensure everything was done to my satisfaction. Clicking on the e-mail's "Pay Invoice" link took me to online pay options, one being Apple Pay. Clicked that, clicked a button twice on my iPhone, did a facial scan, and voila, the bill was paid...seconds to complete. Exactly how to do business in the 21st century. The sewer clean out cap in front of the kitchen popped off and all this whitish greyish gunk poured out onto the sidewalk. I never even knew what that cap sticking out of the sidewalk was till this happened. The kitchen sink was occasionally not draining and was increasing in frequency. Noted sewer smell. Our 2nd experience (this past week) with the company was just as great. We were so impressed with this company the first time, we immediately hired them to take care of a major toilet leak we discovered. Our upstairs bathroom had a toilet that was installed improperly by previous owners, and had been slowly leaking dirty water into the floor below.... over months or even years. :O When we discovered mold on a downstairs closet ceiling, we opened the ceiling to discover a lot of damage. The plumbing company arrived and helped us clear out our closet, make a plastic sheeting wall to protect the furniture in the connecting room, and opened up the ceiling and one wall inside the closet. They showed us all the mold and damage and immediately repaired the toilet leak. They pointed out that the 2nd toilet upstairs (also visible from that opening) was improperly installed just like the first... and was also leaking. They took care of both issues. They brought in a dehumidifier to dry out the space (about 48 hours duration) and sprayed any remaining toxins with chemicals to completely sterilize the area. Finally, they set us up with a drywall expert to cover the open ceiling and wall. Price: The final bill was high for this project, but reasonable for everything that needed to be done. This included repairing 2 toilet leaks, sterilizing the damaged areas, renting the dehumidifer, and the time of labor. Both the costs for labor time and the cost for supplies were accurate. Cole and the team at Do It Rite Plumbing do amazing work and were very affordable. We started out with an issue of out sewer backing up. We had called another plumber that snaked the line for us but said it would likely happen again and we should scope the line. They said if we wanted that we should call back, which would have been another cost. Well the backup did happen again, but this time I spent more time looking for a plumber that could do everything in one shot. I gave Cole a call and they sent some folks right out that looked at the line and found the issue. Turns out our cast iron sewer line was old and had sunk creating a dip between our line and the city line. We scheduled to have the line replaced. Cole's team came out with heavy equipment, dug up and replaced our sewer line, replaced a section of sidewalk that had to be cut into, and made sure that the line was sitting on stable gravel before covering it so there wouldn't be issues with the line sinking again. The cost was less that I had expected. Our friends told us that other plumbers sometimes change an arm an a leg, but Do It Rite was fairly priced. They even included a veteran discount, which is nice when you're living on a retirement income. I highly recommend these plumbers.
