a box of empanadas and dips

This was the best empanada in The Bay I've had thus far. Being Puerto Rican it's hard to find good food that reminds me of home. This brought back memories. Thank you.

Beef (picadillo) empanadillas are the best I have found in the Bay. Soooooooo good!

I contacted Doña Aida to see if I could get some empanadillas for my daughter's graduation party. There are very few places to get authentic Puertorriqueño comida here in The bay. She assured me that her empanadillas were good so I ordered 4 dozen (cooked) and arranged to pick them up at 11:30 on a Saturday. I arrived on time the day of the party and Doña Aida answered the door with a smile and two hot trays of empanadillas. I have to say that you can tell she has a passion for making people smile and sharing her gift with people. My daughter's party started at 1:00 and there were about 20 people there. (Most if them had never had authentic Puerto Rican food before). The empanadillas only lasted an hour and it's all people were taking about. The Piccadillo (we ordered beef) was perfect and every one was golden brown and crispy. If you are considering ordering from Doña Aida, you should just go ahead and call now. My review does not even begin to do her food justice. I cannot get her warm smile and passion for her cooking out of my head. Doña Aida is a true gift to all Puerto Ricans (and anyone else who lives our culture) in the Bay. I will be calling her every chance I get to grab more. I'll be back soon.

Ask the Community - Doña Aida's Empanadas

I am curious about the cost. How much individual and by the dozen?

What types of vegetarian options are there besides the spinach/ cheese- are there also mushroom available? How much per dozen of vegetarian varieties? Thanks!

I like to look for new spins on lattes to see what barista's are whipping up to make things unique. I came in thinking I was going to get a basic latte, but the Borgia Mocha caught my eye! I asked the cashier if it was a good choice and she recommended it. I was a little unsure how the two would blend and how much orange they would use in it, but it came out amazing! Honestly probably one of the top 10 unique mocha's I have tried and it was delicious! I loved the burst of refreshing orange that complimented the chocolate. The flavors danced on my tastebuds like two separate flavors that blended together as one. Each holding their own note that added value to the drink making it unique. I was instantly impressed and wish I found this on more menus! A classic mocha with a refreshing twist of orange was a pleasant surprise! I'm so glad I stopped in for a pick me up! I also loved all the art on the large walls and there looked to be plenty of tables and seating for people to eat and work at.

=== Incredible coffee and food. Great vibes ===…read more First, awesome experience. Second, I hate that I keep finding these experiences an HOUR away from where I live. Was meeting up with a friend from Berkeley and he found this spot in between the both of us. Pros and cons! + The coffee - holy shit. Got a cortado. And drank it without sugar it was so good. A touch of bitter (it's coffee - duh!) but so smooth, almost nutty but buttery at the same time. + Got a chicken salad sandwich. It came stacked HIGH with hints of sweetness and curry. Freshest produce. Honestly, I was hungry but could only eat half of it, it was so big. + Friend got a warmed cinnamon bun. Incredible. Yeasty, chewy almost crisp on the outside but pillowy soft on the inside. + Wide open space inside -- high ceilings, one big central area. Not tucked away spaces -- which might or might not match your preference. + Perfect amount of coffeehouse buzz. Music playing lowish in the background and lots of conversations. Just enough to quell my ADHD tendencies. * Honestly can't think of any negatives. Prices are a bit high but happy to pay it for such a quality experience. I think my cortado was decently priced -- maybe $6 or so? Sandwich was $18 or so but done really well and came with a bowl of soup (chips, fruit, and something else was an option instead of soup, but tomato bisque with a sandwich? Divine.) - An hour away from where I live but if you live anywhere East Bay, my curse is your blessing ;-)

We've ordered delivery from Reina's about 4 or 5 times now, and they haven't failed us once. They ALWAYS deliver the goods. Their pupusas are always so fresh and filling. Not too oily and always moist but not to the point of falling apart. My favorite are are the revueltas and I always get at least one revuelta when I order because I'm addicted. I've also tried their bean and cheese and cheese and jalapeño which are also super tasty. But the revueltas are where it's at! They have great lunch specials that come with beans and rice. I love their Salvadorian beans as they prepare them in the correct style. Their plantains are and cream and so damn yummy too. The prices are so reasonable and their pupusas are a nice size, so you're never left feeling hungry. Just really fresh and flavorful food. I have yet to make it to the actual storefront but I plan to visit one day to have an actual sit down meal. But until then, my staff and I will continue to order takeout from here when we get them cravings. So glad to have them here to satisfy my cravings! You def can't go wrong with Reina's!
