We came to vote on day 2 of early voting and there was a line outside the building. No worries because the line moved at a good pace. Checked in at the front desk and received my ballot. Plenty of voting "booths" in the front room and the next room over so I did not have to wait to vote. Parking was easier than expected, since they had procured the lot next door for overflow, plus there were plenty of handicapped spaces available. All in all, a pleasant experience.

The positive experience actually started the Friday before when I called ahead to make an appointment (which is mandatory). Surprisingly, they had a slot available for Monday afternoon, which I gladly took. The lady on the phone very kindly walked me through the process, explained everything I would need (including where to find the paperwork online in advance), and gave me directions (their new address apparently leads some GPS users to an open field). I arrived about 10 minutes early Monday, but the receptionist immediately took my paperwork and money ($90 cash, ATM across the street at the gas station), and told me to have a seat until they were ready to take my fingerprints. I was in the Sheriff's office for maybe 15 minutes total. Maybe. The lobby area, which is where I stayed except to do fingerprints was super clean and inviting with comfy places to sit. The different areas (reception, patrol, detectives) are very clearly marked overhead, which is very helpful for dummies like me! My only minor gripe is that there isn't a public restroom in the lobby and I very badly needed to get rid of a Red Bull. Oh well, as I said the process was very quick and I was out of there in no time. Thanks everyone!

First, super kid friendly with a schedule for activities planned just for them! There's even a whole section of the library dedicated to kids from books, a cute quiet reading corner wheel built into the wall, a giant interactive play pad for 4, a drawing station, sensory toys along the wall and private rooms you can bring them into to do work. I recently also needed a room to take a work call as a last minute thing and they were helpful in accommodating me into one of their available rooms that didn't require training. Wifi is good, there are places everywhere to plug in, and there's coffee downstairs called Moji that's good and supports and employs neurodiverse individuals. I could go on from the dvds, video games, comic books and other opportunities but there isn't enough space or time. Just check it out! It's got something for everyone.

You can use the printers with a library card for 10 free prints a day (they are $0.15 each so up to $1.50/day). I will say just like with any place you need to be aware of your surroundings! There were a couple of times I was making sure I kept an eye out, but luckily there are a lot of people around as well as a security guard that makes his rounds. This made me feel super safe!
