the WSPD is the sorriest group of people i've ever met. since i moved into my apartment i have had…read moreto deal with a drunk in my building harassing me and my friends, partners, and family i had over. and by harassing i mean, trying to shove his way in my own apartment, banging on my door, threatening to unalive and hurt me, he has followed myself and friends out to our cars and stood next to or behind it refusing to let people leave, blasting music to shake my floor and refusing to turn it down. the first time i called it was when he tried to shove his way into my door and get in my apartment, i ended up pepper spraying him and called the WSPD. they tried to charge me with assault instead of him. i have made numerous complaints since and police have not showed up, knocked on the wrong door then just left, and the dispatch is extremely rude every single time i call. i had one dispatcher try to tell me id be arrested for misuse of police if i kept calling for noise complaints and threats. so if yall are in a situation where you're being harassed or stalked, just go ahead and handle that yourself don't even bother calling the people that are supposed to "serve and protect"

If I call the station, it is because I am trying to report something that will help prevent future problems for our police force. Things like a man seen beating a woman in an alley or a traffic light at a major intersection that isn't working and cars nearly hitting each other because the traffic volume is too high to treat it as a four way stop. Winston Salem, I promise not to call with useless pieces of information, so let's stop treating my calls like I am an ignorant person who has no right to tell you where you might want to put a modicum of your attention. If my money is used to pay your salary I ought to at least get the right to report public safety concerns without being brushed off and hung up on!

My driver was very nice and let me have my hands in front of me, while making sure that the cuffs didn't dig in or cut into my arms. For this a star. On arrival I was cuffed to a post with some less than quiet individuals. This only lasted a short time, as a sheriff walked by and seeing me decided that I probably shouldn't be there between the two screaming frat boys. At this point I got to see the lovely fenced in parking lot, while accompanied by an escort I was allowed to sit with my comrades and have a few cigarettes while we waited for the paper work to be filled out. As we were not, nor were we seen as a flight risk we had pretty free range of the area but chose to stay sitting on the curb as our escort was armed... and did not enjoy our humor as much as some of the other officers did. For this a star. Once all was said and done I had to sign some paperwork stating that I was an idiot and that I had to stand in front of people and tell them I was an idiot. While walking out I saw an officer I knew from cycling we spoke and he gave me some advice which paid off greatly. The officers were not cruel or mean. And though I would suggest staying out of this hotel of horrors, compared to the officers I have seen and how they act and react to victims and the bad guys... Greensboro cops are OK in my book. I enjoyed open house at the new location, 9630 Julian Clark Avenue. All of the staff members were…read morefriendly as they always are, unless they're standing in front of me while I am in the driver's seat. The building is spacious and everyone has space to do what needs to be done. I received an explanation of the intake room as well. My prayer is that I only enter that building or any other police-type facility as a visitor. They served pizza, snacks, cupcakes, cake, fresh, individually brewed coffee, and goody bags for the kids. They also had a video playing in the break room showing their old digs where they didn't have enough space. We all had a great time VISITING and touring the new police station.

About a week ago I called the MPD to report seeing 2 cars with identical rear license plates on…read morethem. The plates were Texas plates, and Texas requires a plate on the front and the back of any vehicle. The person who took my call and my contact information said someone from MPD would call me back shortly. In a while a "wireless caller" called me, confirmed who I was, and basically had me repeat what I'd told the original person at MPD. He said he would "check it out" and "get back to me with any questions". Never heard another word, and the 2 vehicles are now parked side by side at 107 Chase Water in Mooresville (28117). The picture below shows the 2 cars and the 2 identical plates. MPD was very unprofessional and apparently didn't do anything.

over the several years we've lived around here I've had the opportunity to talk to the police on…read moreseven or twelve occasions and while it hasn't always been fun we've never a bad exchange. we had a couple officers out to dispatch a rabid animal one weekend when animal control wouldn't send a tech in a truck. before that we had officers show up with hands on their holsters asking for names and addresses and what are we doing in stern tones and insisting we move verrry slowly when producing identification after I'd accidently leaned on the alarm button. another time a half dozen vehicles came down the street with all the lights on looking for a fellow who had recently committed an armed robbery; we were told rather abruptly to get inside and stay there until the situation got resolved - not super polite but appropriate to the situation... other interactions include questions about street parking, overtaking liquor-sickles, noise ordinances, other parking, the posting of private property to deter unwanted and unwelcome visitors and stuff like that... so yeah, it's hard enough dealing with the criminal element and the willfully ignorant so how about we all just try to get along..?

I only got the information of the lady who hit me. FYI- You can't get an actual police report after the fact, only a CAD report. That basically is your statement of what happened. The employees I encountered there were helpful. Not very friendly but efficient for sure. I very much appreciate the service they provide to our city.
