Brought the bike in when the engine was making grinding noises and the battery had failed. They started up the bike and said the engine had siezed when I wasn't there instead of opening it up. Said it would be $3000-$4000 for a rebuild. Instead I got a used motor to replace in there. They gave a poor explanation of what caused then engine to sieze. They then had to do a valve adjustment due to poor compression, which had to be redone by another mechanic. On top of that that the oil was very dirty even after they did a supposed oil change and cleaned the replacement motor. They had terrible customer service and wouldn't pick up when called. Whenever calling me, they would leave a message saying to call back with no details, but then wouldn't pick up when I called back. On the final receipt they did not itemize anything except for the oil and service. Everything else was listed as "custom amount" Edit: Owner called to apologise, which was nice... However, there were still issues that need to be addressed with their customer service. I get a detailed report of each item checked and worked on, as well as diagrams and measurements on valve clearances from other mechanics. Things need to be clearly itemized especially when the bill is close to $1000. read more

Meh not overly impressed by these guys. I took my bike in because it was stalling out and not running very well. They said they will get to it in about a week if not sooner (that was expected). They call a week later and say the bike has low compression, the motor needs to be rebuilt with the amount of miles on it and it would cost $3,000-$4,000 to rebuild the motor. (Wow) or $600 to swap out a motor I bring to them. I call around motors aren't cheap so I call them back the next day and was asking what they checked. They said the charging system (5min job @ $65) is good and "everything else checks out ok". I then asked what cylinders they were getting the low compression in. They say "we didn't check the compression (that would be another $110), but we are pretty sure it's the low compression".... $3-4,000 motor rebuild on a "pretty sure that's the problem" doesn't seem all that convincing. Don't get me wrong, they are nice guys over there but I'm not sure if agree with there assumptions instead of actually running the proper tests. And now an update. A friend of mine helped with with a valve adjustment, exhaust valve shims were way out of spec. Got them adjusted and the bike is running amazing! read more

Although the service is speedy and efficient I was charged more for a lot more service on one of my mopeds than the other. The pricing for the same service was different and if you don't know what you are getting charged for or what the actual service costs it's not very comforting. I guess when there's no competition you can charge what you want. read more

I'm about to return Mark's courtesy call. He just left a voicemail asking how my Honda CBR 600 F4i is since he brought it back from the dead last week. He exhibited this high level of care throughout the repair process. My bike needed a new fuel pump. Mark checked all other aspects of the bike while he waited for delivery of the part. Brought my ninja in for an oil change. Which Kyle and mark knocked out quickly. Once they were done they went over a couple things that needed attention in the near future. I am new to riding and mark and Kyle took the time to explain what parts I would need and pointed them out so I could see what They were talking about. They also asked if I had any questions being new to riding and I brought some things up I wanted to know and they were more than happy to go over anything I needed. I would not recommend this place. I took my GXSR here based on their reviews but thought it was the worse service. When I first took my bike in they told me it would be ready in a week. After a week they said they were backed up and they didn't call me back in for a month! When I picked it up, my speed still wouldn't display. I had paid for a new speed sensor, but now they said it was wiring issues and wanted me to pay an hourly rate to look at it. I feel like after making me wait a month and not even fixing what I took it in for, they should have offered to look at the wiring or refunded me for the speed sensor since that wasn't the issue. I'll be taking my bike elsewhere to get the wiring fixed. read more

This place is a little gem. We've been coming here for 2 years. First he had some crazy lady working there and finally gotten rid of her. Now this place is comfortable and welcoming. My son has his 1997 Yamaha 250WR fixed here as most of the bigger shops wont work on an older bike. Mark has no problem working on it and knows what he's dong. Came in with 2 wheels to get the tires changed and wanted to charge me 40$ dollars per wheel and they were not even on the bike. 98 percent of places only charges 20 bucks a wheel. Very sincere , honest and overall great mechanic! Mark the owner of the shop in PB was very helpful in my periodic 600m maintenance with a great price! He also gave specific information on possible combinations of exhaust systems, air intake and fuel management tuning programmers. I would not take my bikes any other place; period. I brought my 2003 Yamaha XT225 in in pretty rough shape. I just got it and after a few drops and a few hundred miles the gears were clicking, the shifting was very difficult and the clutch was effd. He told me that I cold need some serous work to the engine and that the clutch may need to be replaed. I braced myself for colse to a thousand in possible work. It turns out that the clutch was just in the wrong place on the handlebars and that the rear wheel was misaligned. He fixed it all and for way less than I thought. Bottom line: a mechanic that you can trust is priceless! read more

When my bike acted up (overheating) I wanted to bring it to some dealer close by (PB) because it felt sketchy to drive to my normal repair shop 15 miles away. I went to their shop to ask if they could work on this kind of bike and when it it would be a good time to bring it by for evaluation/repair. They were very quick to say that anytime would be fine, but bringing it in on Friday would be best. Nothing easier than that - I thought. When I did bring my bike in they flat our rejected to take it. I even told them it doesn't matter to me if they need more time to get to it soon. They said they are running out of space and there is nothing they can do for me! That left me out in the street with a quasi-broken bike. Not a great experience. That said, i do think the owner is nice, but it also seems some of his assistants could benefit for some customer support training. read more

Mark's repair shop is absolutely incredible! I wish I had come to him earlier, but it hadn't occurred to me that he works with scooters, too. After having been to other repair shops though which were expensive and not very helpful, my neighbor referred me to Mark. I brought my Piaggio scooter to him with a problem with the front brakes which need a new caliper. Until I had the new part delivered he fixed it well enough to ride with for a week, which I cannot thank him enough for as I need my scooter to get to school. When the part did arrive, he had installed it perfectly within a few hours and my scooter was like never before, I never enjoyed riding it so much as after the visit at Mark's garage!
