WE have A 25 year old metal garage door. Called in because we noticed the seal on the bottom was cracked and part was missing. Dean and his helper came out that very same day. Very quickly replaced the bottom gasket. They notice the light bulbs had burned out in the garage door opener. Two new LED light were quickly put in. While they were checking the door they noticed a couple of the hinges were ready to brake, remember this is a old door. He had the correct hinges on his truck. I called Dean, for an estimate on my garage door. I had a couple issues. 90's motor NO vinyl siding Around the door. Slow lift Loud rattling door. Safety feature may or may not be working. We have used Dlouhy Doors now twice. First time our springs broke in such a way that we couldnt open the garage door. The big problem was that it was a Sunday, and the car was trapped inside, so my wife wouldnt be able to use it for work on Monday. Well, Dean came over on his day off and repaired it for us without any extra "weekend charges". Yesterday, Friday, we had Dean install a new motor and of course, we were very satisfied with his work. Trouble is that when we were trying to connect our car opener to the system today, we inadvertently erased the memory so nothing worked. Called Dean and he attempted to talk us through resetting, but we weren't able to. So guess what ? They came out right away to measure my door area for the new door. He did tell me because of covid the door would take a while to be made to my specs which worked out fine for me since my door was old but could diffidently wait. We set up for the day to replace the door the head man came out ( Dean) and made sure that everything was going right. His worker was polite and knew what he was doing. Called Dean around 7 pm on Friday night because my garage door decided to stop working. He was prepared to come by right away in case I needed my car out of it. Luckily that wasn't necessary so we scheduled for him to come by Saturday morning. He was nice and explained everything to me (multiple times because I wasn't quite understanding it at first). He changed the spring and the cable to unlatch it in case the power is ever out. Was not pushy but explained and showed me that my door was about to break and could not only cost way more money, but hurt someone. He made sure I understood how to open the door should the power ever be out and watched me do it on my own to make sure I could do it. I was thankful for that but on top of that, he swept my garage, lubed my neighbors garage door after I explained that I live right above there's and it's loud sometimes (we are in a condo so they are connected), helped me change the light bulb on the motor, and even left me with a can of the lube spray. Dlouhy Doors installed our garage door and opener 20 years ago and did a great job! That was in 1994. This year, late 2014, the wireless part of our system wasn't working so well anymore so we bought a new opener at Home Depot - a Genie. My hubby and I got as far as removing the old garage door opener but he has bad knees and I REALLY am not a person who likes doing that sort of thing, so I finally convinced him we should call Dlouhy to have them install the new opener. Dean and Jeff came to our Poway home - great guys, very friendly - and spent a couple of hours on our project. They not only installed the new opener, they lubed our door and the existing rails and everything runs like a dream. Dlouhy prefers non-Genie products, but since we had already purchase that particular product they were happy to work with what we had. The price was reasonable and the service was good. Definitely recommend these folks. The only reason I didn't award five stars is because they didn't come out as scheduled on a Monday afternoon. Communication glitch, apparently.
