It is one of my go-to places to take visitors from out of town - you get a delicious sweet treat and so many flavors that just scream Miami and Miami culture. My personal favorite is the cafe con leche with oreo...so decadent and I truly feel like I'm just having a cup of ice coffee! However, many people I've taken also love the abuela maria! Can't recommend more highly!

Azucar bills itself as the first homemade Cuban ice cream and I believe it. Get the Abuela Maria. It is their number one seller for a reason: guava, cream cheese, and Maria cookies folded together, and it tastes exactly like something a Cuban grandmother would make if she also happened to be a genius. Cafe con Leche and Mantecado round out the top three and neither disappoints. Real talk on the practical stuff. It is busy and the shop is small, so expect a line and expect to eat standing or perched on the window bench. Prices run about seven to eleven bucks a cup depending on size, but taxes are included in the sticker (rare and appreciated, no surprise math at the register). Cash and Apple Pay both work. Pro move: grab your cup, walk thirty seconds to Domino Park, and eat it watching the old timers slap dominoes. That combo is peak Little Havana. Five stars, would fly back to Miami for the Abuela Maria alone.

As seems to be the case with most places nowadays, the tables were dirty and everything seemed to be all over the place. We did appreciate that one of the sales associates came over to explain the whole "concept" to us and guide us through the ordering process. The whole operation is so tacky with their fake periodic table, etc, but sure, OK, let's go with it, eye roll. The ice cream situation itself, despite the whole "scientific" nitro-hoopla, is not that great, Our daughter got chocolate with gummy bears, and the chocolate was pretty melty while the (fully intact) gummy bears were hard as a rock. And the gummy bears were extra large and seemingly all orange-flavored?? Our kiddo complained that they tasted like pure orange peels, and she barely ate half of her cup. The "ubelicious" was good flavor-wise, but again, the ice cream was kinda melty and the pieces of oreo in it were massive. One of us got the biscoff, which was the thickest of the lot, but it was almost too thick that it felt like creamy cement. So, overall, nothing was quite right here. Prices are steep, and the vibe just wasn't our thing, and the ice cream wasn't anything to write home about. So, overall, meh.

The place itself is quite nice. Steam punk decor which I loooove, spacious indoor, outdoor seating as well. It was hard to choose from what we wanted because everything looked amazing. They do have a new menu item, called Croshell, so we had the cookies and cream one... insaneeee. And it came with a cute labubu chocolate. From their beautiful signature selections we went with their Ferrero labubu and their treasure chest. I can't tell you which one was better because both delicious. My daughter loves shakes and we tried their caramel Oreo, that was gone in seconds lol. Service was top notch. The girl was so nice, attentive and patient. Wonderful experience here.

The restaurant is colorful and full of gadgets.
